We are about 90% sure we are headed to WDW this August. We are just deciding on dates. Is anyone concerned about the crowds in MK with BTMRR being down? It's a bummer that it will be down, my girls love it. But I'm wondering if I am overthinking this. And I'll admit, I read through some of these pages but haven't read this whole thread so maybe you guys have already discussed?

Not sure if this has been discussed but I am not worried about it at all. We are going the last week in August though. We also love BTMRR so yes, it is a BUMMER BUT, just look at it as a way to spend more time doing something different or new?? I overthink most everything, so totally understand your worry!

I had no idea about this closure Just saw it on allears.net refurbishments. Says August 8th- November 19th. So sad.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be the bearer of bad news!!!! Like I said, I am almost certain I'm over thinking this. I am sad that it will be down, but my husband questioned what this meant for the rest of the park. If it would mean extra long lines on the other "favorites" at MK. We haven't been in 2 years so we will just be thrilled to be back but I am still sad it won't be an option.

I think that the MK has so many rides that it won't really affect the crowds at other rides except for maybe Splash Mt due to the proximity of the two rides. We always like to head to the back of the park at rope drop and do Splash Mt and BTTMR before the crowds hit. It's a long hike to the back of the park, but with two rides, it always seems worth it. Just sad to hear that only Splash Mt back there for our August trip. Oh well, MK has lots of good rides and attractions.

looks like it says 8/8/16 for shut down. So we should be able to catch it in the first week of August when we are there. I was just hoping to catch the refurb edition.

Yep -- BTMR goes down August 8th. We arrive on August 7th and have Epcot scheduled for our first day -- but we have APs, so we can just hop over to MK in the evening if the kids want to ride it.

Hello everyone! I haven't booked yet as I'm waiting for Free Dining to possibly come out- but I'm looking at August 27th to September 2nd. Joining in will help me pass the time! Hoping to do Coronado Springs, but I think DH wants to stick with a value.

Just booked Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage for our August trip! We have never been on this before, but since we are staying at the Contemporary (first time at monorail resort ) we thought it would be convenient and worth trying . Just need to start thinking about fastpasses now

We did the Pirate and Pals cruise last December and had a great time! The character interaction was fun and the time out on the boat was perfect. We sat on the left side (port) and were on the perfect side for the fireworks! I'm not sure if that is always the case but it was perfect!! There's nothing quite like seeing Wishes from the water! Enjoy!

Is the left side an odd number seat? I've read a couple of times about requesting an odd numbered seat.
We were hoping it would be a relaxing way to see Wishes Our teen DD's requested it so I hope it's ok for their age group - they are both big Disney fans.

Shoot! I don't remember if it was an odd number I actually forgot that they were numbered! I think the teens will have a blast - the pirate on board our boat was so funny! We were laughing as adults!
