'THE TRIP' discussion.

I'm not much of a Twitter fan either. I "get" it (despite my advanced age). I just much prefer facebook. I don't have time to do them all. I know I miss stuff from people like Kevin, who doesn't do facebook but does do Twitter, but I still just don't have time to check even more places than I already do.

I joined instagram last year solely because my daughter was in a photo posted by her college from a concert she attended and that was the only way I could see it. I haven't been on since.

There's a bit of a delay in today's show going up. There were some technical difficulties, but they are being fixed and uploaded as I type this. Sorry again!
That does it Craig, too long to fix things. I challenge you to a duel. Noon tomorrow at Casa De Taquila for a shots off.

edit: I have been drinking for several hours before posting this. That is never a good idea but I need to train if I'm to take on Craig

How do we feel about Jackie being added to the mix? Change scares me!

I love that Jackie is being added to the show. I've been wondering for a little while now if they'd incorporate her into The Trip and I guess I got my answer. :)

I think Jackie will make a great addition to The Trip. I could be wrong, but I get the sense that she has the type of personality that meshes well with different groupings of people. Jackie is very likable!

I'm also excited about the Dreams Unlimited Show! Yay, more DISUnplugged stuff. That does sounds like a great concept for a podcast. And then, maybe Kathy, Julie and Steven (Stephen?)can team up for yet another show!! That can come out on Fridays and that gives us DISUnplugged goodness every day but Saturday (I guess we can listen to old podcasts on that day) I'm just kidding, of course....well, unless they really wanted to. :D

I don't actually tweet, but I signed up for Twitter just to follow a couple of people...that sounds really creepy doesn't it? And it definitely doesn't make it better that Shaun is one of the ones I wanted to follow. Yep, I've gotten super creepy since I started coming to the DIS, but I'm among friends, right guys??? You understand, right?!?o_O:scared:

In terms of just reading what other post, yeah, there isn't, but then there's re-tweeting, hashtags (which I do get, just don't really utilise) having to @ everyone. gah... all for 160 characters.
It simply has never captured my interest

haha, well I'm 29, so I wouldn't call that "advanced age" but its never held much appeal to me.

I also don't have instagram... everyone posts their instacrap to facebook anyway, so I see it there. im not a "photographer", nor do I enjoy being photographed

Ooh gurl, I'm 2 years older than you. You should know these things. Very important stuff here :D

-Retweeting is when you want your followers to see something someone else wrote.
-Hashtags aren't specific to twitter. It's just an easier way to track things you may be looking for through social media, etc. (ie #disneyworld #lame)
Most people use hashtags ironically. It's just funnier to add a hashtag to every word.
-Instagram is if you're more photo based than relying strictly on words (not that you cant post pictures on twitter, but instagrams layout is nicer from a glance for viewing a gallery of pics).

I only use mine to follow people, though. I don't care for facebook either, but that's waay more complicated (not for me, some) than twitter.

My preferred use of social media is Tumblr, tho. It's a goldmine of everything and anything.

I am glad that I'm not the only person who feels creepy at times over these shows and folks. It became very strange when I heard Shaun went to the same college I was interning at, at the same time. The entire team seems to have been given a cult like status. Reading the DAP reports, I saw that some one of the longest lines that night were to meet the team. I suppose there are a lot of us who geek out over this show, BUT it keeps us connected to a place we love that we can't always be at. I know it's my fix for all things Disney.

Hmm, creepy online stalking. Why does that sound familiar (not to mention any names - JES)?

As for meeting the team, they have all said many, many times that they love meeting listeners and viewers. They hate hearing after the fact, "Oh, I saw you in the park but didn't want to disturb you". I've had the opportunity to meet everyone except Jackie and Steve and guess what. They are all just regular people like us who just happen to have all of our dream jobs. Pete said a couple of weeks ago that we are all nerds - himself included - so we should just embrace it.

Rather than standing in line to meet them at DAP, though, just make your way to a DIS meet sometime where there are 100 people instead of 1,000.

-Twitter has become way more entertaining/tolerable than Facebook, in my opinion. Speaking of Twitter, you can follow me on Twitter: @BobIger

-Jackie will be a great addition to the show. But girl, you gotta keep wearing those sunglasses atop your head. That's your BRAND.

-Just gonna assume that @Teleclashter was still reeling from having to go watch Barney at Universal, and that's why the show was delayed.

I need to do a Dis Meet. I live within a 2 hour drive of New Jersey, Hershey, and Delaware Meets. You may have noticed that I really want to have a drink with Craig. I also want to tell JL she is tiny (because everyone else does). I really want to meet John and Kevin because of their dining reviews. I tend to agree with all of their opinions...and want to take them to some of my favorite PA spots to get their thoughts. This does sound creeperish, but it will help me gauge their reviews. I love the review shows, but love LTT even if it's a soup kitchen Thanksgiving.

Wow I'm so off topic. Basically I find that anyone who shares a love of Disney the way I do is an instant friend. Whether it's a podcast team member or an unknown person wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt, I instantly relate to them and start a conversation. Do I care about Clause? NO, but that cat is tied to a Dis lover, so I'm listening. As I've said before, this is my place to get my drug of choice...Disneyworld.

I'm right with you, Jes - I get how to USE Twitter (even at my "advanced age" I'm pretty "computer savvy", savvy?) :), but Twitter just does no "do" anything for me, at all. Too truncated and limited with those short blurbs, I think. Just does not appeal to me. I feel the same about Instagram. FB has limited appeal to me, mostly for the games, and stuff from here. Trying to get into Periscope, but that's not all that "for me" either - wondering if the parks have terrible wiFi, since a lot of the stuff I'm watching from there cuts in/out a lot, on multiple people's feeds, so it's hard to stay committed to something.

Definitely come to a meet next year. There is no NJ meet in 2016 though. Hershey is June 17-19. I don't have the dates yet for DE.

I've had a drink or two with Craig. As for JL, she is just the right size.

If you want to meet John and Kevin, you need to go to the New England meet. I think that's the only one they attend.

These boards are really the only "social media" that I frequent and post to. I look at Facebook and Twitter about once a week if that. Twitter doesn't get on my nerves the way Facebook does though. It takes me a long time to get on any bandwagon though... I don't like doing trendy things - even in my baking (I'm a baker) I try to be unique. I'm weird, though so...

I've gone to the Hersey meet the last two years (well, the only two years they have had it) and it was great! And definitely will be a chance to grab a drink with the team (glad I got to toast with Dustin this past year).

Thought I did freak out a little when my infant daughter crawled over and pulled herself up on Julie Martin's leg :scared:

My reason for using Twitter over Facebook...
- I don't have to "friend" or "unfriend" anyone. No one's feelings get hurt.
- 140 characters makes you succinct. No rambling.
- Know too many people that spend way too much time on Facebook. Just don't have the time. Twitter is fast and easy.

@KevinLKlose is my Twitter name....if you're interested.

There will probably not be any regional meets in 2016 because of the proposed megameet in Orlando

I love you on Twitter too! Ever since I discovered the podcasters on twitter, I am on a lot more.

I sent thetrip@disunplugged.com one huge email this morning of show ideas. Hopefully they understand my ramblings, but I want to make sure everone else does the same. Basically let's make sure that the gang has plenty to do over the holidays and come January the podcasts come flowing out. I'm already going through withdrawl from no new shows and have started watching from the start again. I doubt I'm alone in saying 'miss you T and JL'

I have to admit, sunglasses on the head is a pet peeve of mine, and I do it! I just hate how it looks, but that's just me.
I think Jackie looked lovely this week on the show, her hair had either a cute little braid in it or it was a headband of some sort, but it was sweet.

Rewatch old episodes, that is what I am doing. Honestly I don't have any ideas for The Trip, but am thrilled to take anything they give out.
