Fantasy January 23, 2016- STAR WARS

Are there any mixology groups for our cruise? We did one when we cruised Sept '14 and had a great time and met a lot of crazy people.
 
Yes, what is it? I heard there was a mixology class you can take, but what does the group do?
 
My first court appearance with my ex is on Tuesday to try and get a court order to allow my kids to come on this trip. This is only a case conference (mandatory process in Ontario). Hopefully I'll find out something and will probably need to file an urgent motion to get this resolved as I need to know before final payment on Nov 1st if we will be going or not.

Wish me luck. So hard to get excited about this yet.

So I'll likely have a decision that day one way or the other. This whole process is crazy.. The only thing I've been able to book is the cruise and flights. Everything else is up in the air. It's so stressful. I can't even bring myself to read this thread because I don't want to be so disappointed if we can't go. Anyway end rant....

As far as I can tell, you do eat in one of the rotation restaurants for SWDAS and pirate night, but the menus are different for the special nights. I have read that it's nice to be in certain restaurants on certain nights, and that the special show in Animator's Palatte (?) is only on the first night of the rotation (so I wouldn't want to miss that). Just trying to figure it all out!

Star Wars Night may interfere with the standard schedule for Animator's Palette, because all dinners rotate amongst the three restaurants. I know it is possible to call in advance and request a specific server, so it may be possible to call and request a specific rotation -- couldn't hurt to ask!
 
Hey DCL cruisers! Our countdown is rapidly approaching the TWO DIGIT numbers! Getting excited to pay off my balance this month. My question is insurance. Did anyone opt in? Disney or other? I'm debating. The frugal side is thinking all that money could go towards souvenirs and excursions. Ugh, lol. Thoughts. ..

My mom works in the travel industry and would NEVER travel without insurance. Without mentioning any of the sadness she has heard over the years, you just never know what may happen, from illness, to weather, to the possibility of war breaking out (yup that's one she dealt with when she had guests coming from Israel a few years back).
 
My kids would rather walk the ship, go see movies, do the midship detective agency and ride the aquaduck than be confined to the clubs. We are already planning on them doing more in the clubs this trip. I only visited the adult pool area once and it was for a drink and it looked really, really nice. Would have loved to stay there for a long time.
What ages are best for the aquaduck?
 
I am finding this forum format difficult, and I can't seem to find all the messages easily.
Does anyone have any tips for me to navigate this forum?

Would anyone else be interested in being a part of a Facebook group? I would be happy to start it if there isn't one already (I looked and didn't find anything for our cruise date).

Completely agree with this. We buy insurance but not through Disney. We live in PA and so much could go wrong with the weather. Some insurance policies don't take effect until 24 or 48 hours after a flight gets canceled. We always buy a policy that starts the minute a flight gets delayed. You really have to read the fine print.
Who have you bought your trip insurance through? I was researching it with USAA vs. Disney.

I'm not getting any email notifications- that would help a lot. I see alerts when I sign on, or I have to scroll back through pages of conversations. I love reading what everyone is talking about! I've learned so much here.

I will step up and take charge of the FE for our cruise. I've never done one before but I'm sure I can handle it. I do love my spreadsheets!

If you want to participate in the FE please send me a PM with your cabin number, the names of everyone in your cabin, and the ages of the kids at the time of sailing.

I am going to keep a running list of everyone that has signed up for the FE here, however I will spilt the list up to groups of 15 cabins to keep it manageable for everyone. If you want to participate in more than 1 group please let me know and I will add you to as many groups as you want. I am going to set the cut off to sign up for the FE at November 30, 2015. This will allow everyone enough time to get their gifts together before the cruise.

We just made the difficult decision to cancel our reservation. We really wanted to try to make it work, but the Canadian dollar is so bad right now that the exchange is really killing us. Can't make it happen.

We are still going to go to WDW but we have to scale it back just a bit and find a cheaper way.

Good thing we didn't tell the kids! They would never forgive us.
