Magical Deal at the Poly for 2015

Ha that is so funny! We actually had a free dining bounce back booked for Sept but after months of seeing this thread I finally took the plunge and requested a quote just to see. We are a DDP loving family but after discussing we decided that a chance go deluxe and include the Poly was worth paying OPP for food this trip! Plus if they have the free dining bounce back again next fall we can always go that route again next time :goodvibes

We did that last year with the GF. My one daughter had just asked me if we would ever be able to stay there, and I priced it and said, probably not. And then someone on the dis mentioned this agency and before we knew it we actually had a reservation!

I think its worth paying out of pocket to stay somewhere like the Poly. If you don't already have one, you could get a Disney visa and accumulate some points on that to use for food at Disney.

Yes that is exactly our line of thinking. We have always dreamed about the idea of staying at the more "deluxe" deluxes but just cannot justify the cost per night. This discount makes it a reality for us which is so wonderful!! GF is definitely on the bucket list for a future stay...so cool that your family got to do that last year!!

We do actually have a Disney Visa and we put everything on it and immediately pay it off lol!! The rewards may not be as great as other cards but for this Disney loving family it is perfect!! :thumbsup2

I've now put in 2 quote requests over the last 3 days, and no response. I got the automatic generated email right after I submitted the request, no problem. But nothing else.

:confused3

Are you putting any agent's name or no preference? (maybe it could make a difference?) Perhaps the "no preference" ones go to a main email, while the individual ones might be responded to earlier?

I was in contact with my agent Shelly just yesterday, and she's been on top of my every email.

Yes I was saying no preference, since I'm new to this agency. Thanks, I'll try your woman. :)

She's my agent too and on top of everything. She's great!

Maybe try emailing a specific person?

I just heard for sure that there isn't any flexibility on the Universal dates. The dates they are offering is all that is available. Just thought I would share!☺

ok- I requested a quote through this agency for Thanksgiving week 2015 and I am SHOCKED!! We could actually afford the Poly!! Great rates! My only concern was that standard view was only quote I was offered for all hotels I requested. Is that normal? Are other views usually not available? I have asked them but just wondering from others who have booked if that is typical. Also, she said I would need $200 to book it but I thought that was amount required for a package, not a room only which is what I requested. I would assume it would still be the one night deposit or is that different too with travel agent?

I am so glad I found this thread as I just switched to poly from AOA FS for 500 less and get to stay for 2 extra days. Staying sept 5th-13th.

They are selling convention packages so I'm sure even with a room only it takes a $200 deposit since they'll do the booking with Disney all at once.

More than likely standard rooms is all they have built in their packages. It wouldn't hurt to ask if they have something else.

You can always book a standard package with them but then you aren't getting their super low rates. Standard packages/rooms are the same things any other agent would offer. You have to book one of their convention rate packages to get their special low rates and those are very limited in dates and features that can be customized. The trade off for getting such low rates.

I have seen garden view at GF and also GV-CL at POLY, but mostly standard view. I went to their website, but did not see any specials for November. Do you have an offer code? The reason I ask is because when I had them give me a quote and they do not have an agency special for that time period, it has always been = to what I can find online at Disney's site.

The email I got a couple days ago has some dates in November. You shouldn't need a code for them though. As long as you are checking for dates that coincide with their offer.

But you are right, if they don't have an agency exclusive special on your travel dates their offer matches what Disney (and all the other agencies) can offer

I got the email as well and couldn't believe Thanksgiving dates were included. It really is a great deal. Any other disadvantages to booking with agent?

I did a split stay with them. Poly as a package with tickets and then room only at the BC. Both required $200 deposits. I believe it's because it's a convention rate.

Only thing I can think of is you do not have control of the reservation. If you want to put in room requests or that type of thing you have to call the agent and they contact Disney. Though I don't consider that a disadvantage exactly, just a difference in doing it yourself and using an agent.

I have a question. I've never dealt with a TA before. Will I do online check in and request my preferences or will my TA have to do it?

I was quoted like $223 a night at the Poly for the week of Labor Day. Does anyone know what the costs are later in that month?

If I wait for two weeks - my parents might be able to tag along with us.
