ok thanks so same location on 1st floor as I remember from last year. Hoping the hike wont be as far this time!

Make your runners do the laundry for you. They can put on a few miles just walking through the resort. ;)

they did help me bring it to and from last year! haha! we were 4th floor over BIg river and it was a looonnnnnnnnnnnng walk! I doubt we will be further than that with a standard studio booked.

How far in advance do you get your magic bands? Are they sent automatically or do you have to request them on Disney Experience?

I slept on one last October. The sleeper sofas at BWV are not like the ones at most of the other resorts. It is more like a real mattress on springs versus a foam pad on a platform. It wasn't too bad, but I only had to sleep on it one night. To open it you grab the strap at the middle of the back and flip it forward. The cushions don't come off the bed and just flip under the frame as you open it up.

My DD21 will be sleeping on the sofa bed for 5 nights. I was thinking of bringing an egg-crate foam pad with us for the bed, just to make sure she's comfortable (no baggage fee through Southwest so don't mind extra packing!). Do you think this will do it, or should I bring our AeroBed?

If you ordered them (i.e., linked your tickets to them, picked out colors and names when prompted by MDE, etc.), Disney automatically sends them out. Our trip starts on 10/11; we received our magic bands earlier this week (9/16), so maybe 3 weeks in advance.

DD just went with a friend's family on September 8th. Their Magic Bands were delivered on August 12th, so just shy of a month in advance.

My dd sleeps on the sofa bed every visit, and I slept on the same type of sofabed at VGC, and it's never been a problem. We've never needed any type of topper. The most recent visit was August 2012, she was 18 and slept on it for 8 nights.

We just got back Sunday from a terrific 7 night stay at BWI, CL, deluxe. The resort is fantastic. All the cms were wonderful as well. We only ate room service once, it was good. It did rain while we were there but not bad. We also went to MNSSHP & the villian's soiree. We were so sad to leave, especially because a section of our house flooded due to a plugged tub in the a/c, really didn't want to deal with that on our return. Now that we're home, all we can think about is BWI. So we're going for a shorter trip in December. We plan on seeing all the decorations & hopefully will get to hear all the Christmas stories around the world.

First two weeks of December can be the hardest time of the year to book less than 11 months out for DVC. And it is getting worse

Thanks D & B. Not the answer I wanted, but the one I suspected.

What's the general consensus on wait listing? Right now I am on a wait list for a studio in OKW and SSR, figuring I had a better chance with the larger resorts than BWV. But points not being an issue, do I have a better chance waiting for a one bedroom? I check availability every day and it anyways seems that the one bedrooms have partial availability for that period, more than the studios.

My son sleeps on them all the time and hasn't had any problem with them. He's 21.

I slept on one during our last trip I believe it was for 6 nights and I had no problems, i thought it was comfortable (I sleep on a sleep number at home) and I was 40 at the time of the trip.

We will be staying October 18-24 in a 1 br villa. I was wondering if there is a particular unit that is better than another. We are traveling with two children ages 5 and almost 2. We a traveling in a group. There will be two other families staying there in 2 br units. Is it hard to get them close together? I currently asked for a room on an upper floor near an elevator.

Personally I would just keep your request. The hallways are really long, so close to the elevators is a good thing! I think there is a way to indicate you're traveling with the other group, but then you'd have less chance of your location requests being met.

Hi, I keep reading that the hallways are really long in BWV, and although we have requested close to the elevators, I know it is just that, a request.
Can anyone tell me how they compare to AKV-Kidani village hallways?
We stayed last time there, and got a villa at the last section, out on the end of the horn, and it was quite a trek for one suffering with RA.
(And the reason we will not stay there again)
I make do, just a tad slow, so I was wondering if anyone could do the comparison for me? Between the hallways of BWV and Kidani Village?
I am one of those that like to be prepared, overly so according to my better half, but from the pictures and maps BWV does not look to be as stretched out as Kidani.

Add "traveling with" on each of the reservations and they will try to put you close if they can.

The problem with BWV versus AKV is there is only one set of elevators at BWV. So you put some cheese outside your door when you leave and leave a breadcrumb trail when you leave your room to go to a theme park. At AKV, there are multiple elevators along the path. Plus at BWV, there are hallways that go off the main hallway. It can be a bit confusing if you don't check the room numbers carefully.

When I stayed at BWI, there is also only one set of elevators near the front and we actually were 4 doors from the elevators but on the main floor! Request main floor. Either way there isn't many floors at BWI/BWV, compared to resorts such as WL/VWL or CR/BLT.

Do you consider the main floor to be 2 or 1? The lobby is on 2. The boat/pool is on 1. Access to the bus is on 2.

It's been almost 15 years since I've been to Disney and we stayed off-site then. Excited to have a standard view BWV studio for our stay the week of Memorial Day 2015!

Main Floor where the lobby is, that way we have easy access to Belle View Lounge and Dundy's, and only have to go down that nice wooden staircase to get to the boardwalk.

One stay we were in the last room at BWV, and the walk took forever. Or so we thought... Until we stayed at Kidani and we were in that last section as well. It made BWV feel like a quick stroll. I think the Kidani hallway was literally twice as long. Will never stay there again, either, unless we rent a car and park underneath. Though the view at Kidani was incredible, I have to say. I would still request close to elevators at BWV, and maybe even ask them to note mobility issues or something like that. :thumbsup2

Thank you all for the Info, psac thank you for the comparison, made my day. I have requested near elevators and added my mobility issue as well. Do not like to use it as an exscuse but for once we will see what happens in February.
When we stay at BLT the vertical build and 2 banks of elevators actually are
rather fine. But like someone said once, all visits to the world include a huge
amount of walking.:) And I know and plan for it, and the joy of been there trumps most everything else. Smiling is good for you I have found out.
