kook have a wonderful trip .... you'll be missed!!!
I just called to get info on other resorts during that time and the CM was SO kind to offer me the $15,000 suite at GF!
Yeah I have GF saved on my cart right now for Nov 9 for 10 days. It's over $2000 more so thinking about it for a few minutes before I hit the go button. I've stayed there many times and was looking forward to staying CL at WL as something new to enjoy the walk to FW and overall beauty of the lodge ... I knew it may be near the end of the construction but the whole trip not a fan ; (
Three cats ... Just booked grand Floridian for 10 days with theme park view and requested conch key building since it's near the boat dock and I've always loved staying there. Then the 3 days were already booked at GF main building CL but had to make some changes to a standard room instead of the deluxe king ... with the changes I made nothing WS available for one of the nights in king so standard it will be but lucky no less and sure it will be fabulous in RP.
Where did you move to? Just read back your at GF too, great!
Yes! It will be our 1st time staying there. I booked a lagoon view room. Now that the sticker shock has worn off I am really excited!!
What in the world do you get for $12,000 and $15,000 rooms? I would want someone to carry me in the parks and wait in lines for me. I'm sure I would want more than that...I'll have to think about it.

Awesome I know you are missing DH terribly! This is fantastic news and I am SO happy for you!!!
It is the host site of the DISboards.comis www.wdwinfo.com a Disney site?
I can't tell you whether you should change, but the pool will re-open 11/27.We are arriving dec 13th, should we switch? It's our honeymoon, would hate noisy construction and pool closures then
I'll make the correction. It's great you have his leave to look forward to and plans made.Well I need to change my dates.
I decided on not doing the solo trip, mainly because flights were too expensive, and John will just have started getting his paychecks
So, we are going to wait until he is home on leave and go in October.
We are doing a split stay.
BC 10/14 - 10/17
WL 10/17 - 10/23
We did a room only rate, because I have an AP and John will also have one by then.
I just have to keep checking to AP deals, to see if a Passholder rate comes out.
Those Rack Rate deposits are scary!

Thank you for the detailed information; I'll add it to POST 2.Hey guys,
Just got off the phone with back office. I was told they they are putting in a fence, sidewalk around the pool and kids splash area. The cm said it would take probably 30 days but possibly longer but he thought it should be done by November.
It isn't an inside tip but it was from the resort.
Hope it helps.
ITA about the OFC. The CMs are wonderful, as well as the lounge offerings, the seating area and the view of the lobby and Bay LakeBest thing about CL...other than the CMs _COBBLER!!!
Have a great trip my friend
Awww, thanks. I'm surprised my trip doesn't somehow overlap with yours. How many days at DLR and WDW will you be staying this year?kook have a wonderful trip .... you'll be missed!!!
Thanks, Bill for the official TA news. I'm going to post this to the pool update in POST 2.I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, here is the official word that was sent to travel agents today;
In addition, the Silver Creek Springs Pool at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will be closed for refurbishment Sept. 3-Nov. 27, 2014. During this time, the leisure pool at The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will remain open. Guests will also have the opportunity to visit either the Main Pool at Disney’s Contemporary Resort or the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Complimentary transportation will be provided to both of these neighboring resorts.
If the pool was your Client’s primary reason for choosing Disney’s Wilderness Lodge during this timeframe, please consider working with your Client to find an alternative Walt Disney World Resort hotel that will suit their needs.
Please remember that a full list of refurbishments taking place at the Walt Disney World Resort can be found on this site under the “Agent Quick-Links” drop-down menu.
Thanks! Really looking forward to a break from reality (and some cobbler).Have an awesome trip kook!
Welcome and please see POST 2 for WL/VWL updates.I'm sorry not to perform a thorough search for this info before asking: what all is being done during the pool rehab? Is there a fence included, or has that already been installed?

I know I was so looking forward to staying for the first time at the lodge, it's a bummer but hoping to stay with family next summer when construction is done. The pool didn't bother me but I wasn't thrilled about construction site, not a fan ; (
You'll love GF this is our 10th or 11th time there and we love conch key building so I'd add that to your reservation ... Best view of theme park and lagoon as well. Then being near the boat dock is a major plus : )
Call me crazy I can't remember when your trip is? Ours is starting November 9th
We are there Nov 14th-22nd.
I'm sorry you had to change, but I hope that you have a great time at ASMu. Adding the DDP and passes is a nice enhancement. Please remove us from the lodge roll for August of 2014. After much consideration and thought, we decided on downgrading to the ASMu, adding PHWPM and DDP. We will now just spend a little more time at the water parks and dine at some of the signature restaurants and really take advantage of not being on the kids schedule. But no fear! we will be back at the lodge in 2015 for our family trip!
