January 2014 discount watch!!

45 minutes on hold, she gave me all the details of the savings ($1300 in savings). Then I try to add the Magical Express details and just as we are about to finish we get disconnected.

So now I'm not sure if the changes are completed or not. Back on hold...

I just spoke with an agent at Disney. Phone hold times tomorrow am could be up to 5 hours. Not likely online reservations will be up at midnight. Six am tomorrow is what he suggested.

Not gonna happen. Only free dining pulls those kind of waits, and even then it's usually more like an hour or two.

That was a scare tactic to get you to book with him then.
 
Been on hold for over 90 minutes, on the TA line!!! :headache: Crazy. :mad: Need to apply the SPD discount for 4 cients. Now I'm getting worried their resort/room category is going to sell out.
 
I was on hold for 35+ minutes... CM picked up on the landline call (I had a cell and landline on hold) as we were walking out the door. No TPV availability for Poly other than CL... so CL it is! We've never done CL at WDW-- any insights?
 


I was on hold for less than 3 minutes, got my reservations all set, then I saw that some people were getting FD so, I am now on hold 25+ minutes to check for that! :(
 
i got thru after on hold for 20 mins but i could not do anything because I booked through my TA who was still on hold. Sounds like the general number is less wait time then the numbers the TA'S call...ugh cm said oh dont worry it wont sell out on the first day...ya right...i see a lot of people booking PO so maybe BC wont sell out until my TA gets thru
 
I was on hold for one hour ten minutes, but I ended up saving $670.18 on a RO reservation! Woo hoo!!! :banana: A very happy birthday to me!!! Yay!!! :laughing:

On a side note: I know that I ended up calling at 7:05 and maybe that is why I ended up waiting over an hour when others were posting wait times of about 15 minutes. However, I do find myself wondering if people who posted those wait times were making new bookings, or if they were modifying an existing reservation like I was doing and whether or not that had an impact on the wait time? Not that it matters at all - it's really just a matter of curiosity :)

75 minutes total on the phone (45 minutes for the Room Only discount at the Poly, another 30 minutes when I had to call back because we got disconnected near the end of our call).

Polynesian Standard Room (two adults, one child) for 7 nights/8 days starting Jan 11.

Pre-discount price: $4,806.40
Post-discount price: $3596.24

She quoted me the prices if we wanted to go for the S/P/D offer instead:

Deluxe Dining: $5845
Plus Dining: $5123

No offers/mention of Free Dining PINs.

Now lets just hope the construction at the Polynesian isn't too bad during our stay...

Thank you for your response! I actually just called them back after seeing your previous post about FD, and it took me less than 2 minutes to get through! Go figure! :)

And, unfortunately, no FD pin for me. Oh well! Still super pumped about my discount!
 
Yes, it seems that the TA line is way worse than the regular line this morning. Crazy! I was on hold for exactly 2 hours. The CM answered at 9:00 and I got all 4 of my clients changed to the SPD package at the resort and category they were already booked in!

DO I just need to call and apply the discount if I want to stay where I already have us booked? It will save us about $400!!

I called right away at 7am and was on hold for 12 minutes. I was modifying an existing reservation. Unfortunately no pin for my husband or I but we got SPD for our current package - no changes! Saved $540!!!!!
 
Called at 7am as well and was on hold for maybe 10 minutes at most. Unfortunately didnt get to change my reservations as i wanted- half a stay at POR garden view/ other half in the royal room. instead had to do the whole length of stay with a king bed but at least now we dont have to worry about moving rooms and are now in a moderate resort the whole time! Also inquired about the mini fridges and the rep assured me we'd have one by that time
 
darn it...we have a 2-bedroom villa at BW reserved, and our room type is not eligible for any type of discount. Still cheaper paying rack for a 2-bedroom than 3 rooms discounted, so we will keep the reservation. Kinda bummed tho.

While on the phone, he noticed that we were showing 8 adults instead of 5 whenI asked him to take down our magical express info. Took him 35 minutes to straighten that out!
