Sadly, the TAs did NOT have any info (from Disney anyway). We typically don't get anything until hours after the deal has actually been released. Now, there might be some agencies who have people that WILL leak the info to them, but those are few and far between.

While it is not the greatest news that the FD for DV didn't take place today, we can still hold out for 8/1.

My October trip is paid for and we are going promo or no promo.

Even though things are said with the addition of "things can change at any time", I feel saddened and heartbroken for everyone.

I know the actual "leak" says August 1, and the DV is always an educated guess; however, something in my gut feels that things are a miss. I can tell you that the leaks for this were from the SAME sources as the leaks for September (including the one used by another famed leaker on this board), and there were more sources on top of that who were saying the same things. In fact, there were even graphics produced for this...so it's not like it was a weak rumor of sorts.

Still, while I hope for August 1 to come through as stated, I truely hope that Disney hasn't caught on to the leaks, and threw a curve by delaying a release. I hope even more that Disney hasn't seen increased bookings and cancelled it altogether.

However, if everyone deems it fit run me off the dis, I suppose it's well warranted.

I've always tried to help everyone I possibly can, and would never pass along information that didn't appear solid, founded, and meaningful.

I would hope that a few people on here do not discourage you in any way. How many people of this board have gotten free dinning because of your info in the past?? This is a information board so some rumors are true some are not. Again thanks for your insight!

The mean things being said here are more disappointing to me than FD not being released this morning.

I for one thought the "speculation" was fun and I had a wonderful time this morning dancing around my living room to Disney hold music with my 10yr son. (really how much longer am I going to be able to do that) followed by some good natured ribbing from my husband over breakfast. I Thank You Joe for a fun morning with my family, If free dining ever comes out, great, if not, I'm going either way. 134 days to go!

Bah, don't sweat it. I mostly lurk and to have any info that may help me and keep me on my toes is better than nothing. I know you have to be flexible when you plan any trip. A hurricane could come along and ruin many a plan, ask me how I know. LOL

Your time may be better spent re-planning your vacation and recouping from all the disappointment you have indicated you have had today.

Soooo....we are going with or without FD, but had been holding off booking to not mess up possible discounts. Now that there is worry, should we go ahead and book since we are going anyway? I can use a AAA discount and don't want to miss out on that (if I haven't already now that I think about it? Any chance AAA is still available at POFQ?)

You have a point: I have 5 trips in the works over the next year (I plan al my siblings and friends trips) not once have I been asked if I already have a ressie; until today. That was the first thing asked even after I gave my info to the automated system. They even asked that before my name come to think of it.

I was asked if I had a "existing reservation" too!

Thank you for your help and thank you to the other helpful people here also! I will try again for FD on Thurs and if it's not available, I will move on. Lol. When I plan a Disney vacation I never factor in 'FD' or 'RO' discounts. If it's offered, that's just an added bonus. Thanks again for your help, Joe!

Bummer on the no DV discount

I actually booked a Disney trip in Mid June for November and was hoping for some kind of promo to fit my budget better.

I had three trip ideas in mind and my first choice was Disney. I wanted to hold off on booking but I got a sweet deal on air fare I could not pass up.

I love Disney but they are horrible when it comes to releasing promotions. My other two choices for the Orlando area already had great discounts and promotions for fall.A lot of people do choose their vacations well in advance and look at what kind of deals they can get if they are trying to choose between two options.

I finally got weary of waiting for a deal from Disney and ended up booking at Universal and cancelling Disney. I got a great deal and am staying onsite with park to park tickets, front of the line access as well as Blue Man Group tickets. I am paying less then I would have at Disney and feel I got better perks as well.

I am still doing the Christmas party of MK during my trip and will use my Disney points to pay for those tickets.

I hope Disney starts to release more promos through out the year as well as special offers. This sort of thing has to be hard on the cm's just as much as it is hard on people trying to book their trips!

I got asked this before mentioning anything else....( which is new to me)

Its possible WDW leaked info on purpose to see how many people would call to change an already booked trip to add FD versus how many would book new reservations because of FD.

Since they seem to be waffling on FD anyway, I am sure some exec at WDW would love this sort if info.

We won't be able to. It's 3200.00 for our family with FDing or 5500.00 without. We'll just put our money toward a 2014 vacation if FDing isn't released and we'll live .
