Official Car rental September 2013...advice please

Hertz has a couple of good prices for my dates if I Pay Now and select the Baby Boomers discount (CDP: HERTZ FIFTY PLUS). $135 total for Intermediate and $157 total for a Full Size for 5 day rental.

I'm tempted but will look a little more. These prices aren't bad but I'm looking for something around $18 to $20 total per day.

I just got a good deal from Alamo - 28 days 9/27 - 10/25 for $668 tax in. Midsize - this is their Insider deal - when I entered the BJs discount code the rate actually went up!

I'm reasonably happy. :rotfl::rotfl:

ETA: Got an even better rate with Dollar - see later post!

omgosh I just modified my Dollar reservation using the same code I originally booked with (5C11M) and it dropped....by a LOT! I'm wondering if it's too good to be true? Will they honor this price?

original: full size car Wed Sept 18 - Wed Sept 25th, code 5C11M, total with taxes & fees: $223

today's rate: full size car, same dates, same discount code, base $95, total with taxes & fees: $149

I just got this now with Dollar for a mid-size vehicle.

Costco budget codes beat dollar by $10 for 09/1-09/11 for me. We are at $214 for a standard. Still hoping for a minivan!
If you find anything for a minivan that's at a decent price, please share. I have a family member that is looking for one from Sept 24th through Oct 1st. Thank you in advance!:worship:

Taxes and fees are included in the price

The price includes $40 off in coupon savings and up to 35% off.:woohoo:

No we have no Costco. Just Sam's and BJ's Wholesale, but she doesn't have a membership for either I believe.

I think you may have to be a member to rent through Costco....I had to enter my Costco membership number before reserving the car online. Though, I:wave2: am NOT 100% sure....some of you may know if this is correct or not.

It's max of 7 days. I am there 09/01-09/11 and its $800ish. I booked it for the week so we will see what we do the rest of the time.

I wonder for those looking for a van...Have you tried Budget? When I checked 9/1-9/7 for Mco for those dates, I got $240.30 using BCD Y937800 . Hope that helps!:thumbsup2

:)That was the base price I got too, then they added the taxes onto that price and it was 327.00 total. :confused3 Did you use a corporate id in addition to the BCD code?

No, just the one code.. I was just curious what the price would be.. I'm actually looking for codes for Sept 27- Oct 5 for Houston Hobby. But thought I'd " throw it out there to help someone along the way!" Maybe it'll help someone! :)

Thanks to everyone for posting and checking constantly, it really helps!

Need some advice...DW, me, DS5, DD3, DS1 heading down 9/21-10/5. Do we REALLY need a min-van? DS5 can go in a backless booster and the other two have relatively skinny forward facing seats (Diono Radian RXT). I'd love to just get a fullsize car but a intermediate SUV like a Ford Escape may work as well.

What do you guys think?

TIA!!! :thumbsup2

I think you make me cutting it close in a Ford Escape. Had one last trip and we barely fit the one car seat with two skinny adults in the back seat.

I would go by the type of car you have it home.

Using that code for my dates (9/16-9/25), it came back at $767 :scared1:

The other thing to think about is that can that hold all of your luggage/stroller?
