May 18, 2013 Magic EBTA Part Two - From Tejas to España

I'd also be interested in the lunch if that's ok. But we aren't doing the SM or the FE (too lazy and not enough space, not to mention, not crafty, etc., etc., etc. :lmao: )

I'm just going to borrow Kirbo's quote. I'm exactly the same especially the too lazy and not crafty part. :rotfl: I would love to do the lunch. :)

All,

Just thought I would update everybody on what I found out this morning.

I received my state income tax refund yesterday, so I used it to prepay our cruise gratuities. I had my TA process the payment, and she told me that I had a refund due to me in the amount of $22.81 due to a change in the cruise fare tax amount. Apparently this was just processed a few days ago, and she had not been informed about it as of yet.

I'm not sure if this was due to a change at the final payment date. We've had our reservation since last fall, and the amount was always the same right up to the final payment date.

It's not much, but it might be another souvenir or two. You might want to check with DCL or your TA for more information. :)

No worries on not doing FE or SM. :grouphug:

For signing up - be sure to keep an eye out for the event organizer's post on how to sign up. It will give her an accurate count to give Lumiere's a heads-up for while onboard. Not a ticketed event but one it's good for them to know to expect a crowd of us at a certain time. :thumbsup2
Will do, thanks.

I saw folks talking about it on FB as well. I think it was taxes that were refunded. Anyway, I just went and looked at my online CC statement and I don't see a refund for us :worried:. I'm fairly certain that there wasn't one on my last statement either. I'll need to go back and look to be sure.

Here is the list so far. If your name is on the list for yes, please either PM me here or on FB your stateroom number. If you are a maybe, please let me know if it is yes or no. If yes, I will also need your stateroom number.

If you are not on the list and want to join us, please also PM me here or on FB.

Hi Neil -
I believe reconfirmed with you yesterday via PM on FB - and it's a yes :)
I also believe I gave you our stateroom number too - thanks!
Thanks!
Beverly

ok - so my hunny and I discovered that DCL sold all of the H2O sea salt body wash (large tubes they used to sell onboard) at the outlets last year. So - what are they giving the conceirge level guests instead? Are they still using the body wash (new packaging?) or did they change products completely?

If you are looking back at emails, I know the auto-email we received from both staterooms came out on February 7. If any part of your charges were made on a gift card (such as from the Target gift card promotion many took advantage of) then it is possible the refund went back on the gift card. We used one $50 gift card on one cabin but the rest was paid on the credit card - and it so happens that is the gift card the refund went back to. The other cabin was all on credit card, so that one was refunded on the credit card. Your TA won't be able to see that refund info (such as last four digits of the card it went back to) but the CM at DCL can. Hope that helps some :)

Also - the email doesn't really "advertise" a refund at the top or in the subject -- you have to look down under "Fare / Payment Information" to see it. It is where it shows how much you paid for that stateroom (this is from our two-person stateroom):

Balance Due: $0.00
Refund Due: $15.12

FINAL PAYMENT: $0.00 Due Date/Time: 18-Jan-2013 11:59 PM Eastern Time
Cruise Cancellation Fees Begin: Once Payment Received

ETA: Final payment was made on January 15 for us... so this came out after final payment

Thank you so much, Noel! :cheer2: And I know you probably have since added my MIL, right?

I did ask one of the co-originators of Champagne Girls what the story was, how it originated, how she came up with the idea, etc just for my learning - will post when she replies so it might also help enlighten others. I ended up being disappointed I didn't attend last time, and honestly not a fan of champagne unless mixed with cranberry juice, but all the pictures from various cruises have just looked fun!

For those who don't know Deb or Mandy, here is the thread telling about Champagne girls

I only used my Disney Visa card and it wasn't anywhere on there . Oh, well, it wasn't a huge amount, but it would have been nice.

Mandy, can you add us to post #487 please. We're staying at the Tremont, arriving on 17th :)

In September on the Fantasy, they were still providing the H2O Sea Salt Body Wash in concierge. Same packaging as years before. In Jan/Feb 2011 when we sailed on the Dream the suites had Elemis products, not the usual H2O.

We receive Elemis products on Celebrity. They're available online: Elemis. Shampoo is $20. Yikes!

Anyone familiar with Santiago de Compostela? What's it like there? Can I travel there alone?

Crazy enough, the International Congress of Clinical Psychology is meeting there while we will be in Barcelona. Unfortunately, I will miss the Congress, but I can show up to the pre-congress workshops the day before. The tax write off would be wonderful. I can fly there for the day for $149.

I don't think they would meet somewhere sketchy and unsafe. But just checking.

Well ugh! Sometimes it can take 4-6 weeks (their standard answer) but if not showing up yet, definitely give them a call. My email came 2/7, and online my credit card shows transaction date of 2/8 and posted on 2/10.

Do you think I should call my TA or DCL?

Do you think I should call my TA or DCL?

You can give DCL a call first, but they may not be able to talk to you if under a TA. They (DCL) are the ones the TA will have to ask when verifying the last four digits of your credit card the refund went back to. :goodvibes

We are under Costco now, and I didn't get any email, but same as you, my credit was issued on 2/8 and went through on 2/10.

Hope you get yours soon, Kirbo!
