May 18, 2013 Magic EBTA Part Two - From Tejas to España

The rates were just too good to not book when they came out. I really had no intention of booking with school schedules, but at $770 per adult (inside) and $644 per child - for 14 nights - plus ports we haven't seen - I had to at least book it. We have enough frequent flyer miles to get over there, and by then Southwest will be flying out of San Juan so cheap flights home hopefully. Lots still left.

EBTA has been a hard-sell for Disney though.

Good thing I listened to you, Mandy! After thinking about the plane tix being more challenging than Miami/LAX, we booked the WBPC. Then my mom reminded me that we are going to DC in October so yeah, I think we need to skip the WBTA or the boys will miss a month of school haha.

So many prefer to tie in Disney World (but then again, the WBTA is Barcelona to San Juan...). Galveston is a little tricker with transportation logistics to port, especially with only one car rental agency in Galveston versus several at Port Canaveral. Some just look at our EBTA itinerary and think "boring" - but they have yet to discover "Sea Days" and their awesomeness.

Several private schools around me finish May 17 (perfect timing) as well as colleges. A great time to cruise over there. Most public schools in Texas end during the first week of school because of a state mandate to not start school prior to the fourth Monday of August. Can't fit all the days in.

We booked this EBTA on opening day, started participating in this thread right after ValBob set it up, and are super duper excited for it and to meet everyone! Eleven weeks and five days..... :cheer2:
I'm so excited :cool1:

Yes!!! I believe Yvet has given me the thumbs up on combining (assuming we even have SM since only very few have shown interest). C'mon guys, it's super fun!!!

Were you thinking the 'Til We Meet Again Luncheon for last sea day? I can put that down if so. (Literally just keep a count of who is coming, give Lumiere's a heads-up, and we show up as the place us all on one side of the restaurant)

We combined Secret Mickey Reveal with that as well since all gives had been given.

Is it ok to attend the Til We Meet Again Lunch if you are not participating in the Secret Mickey? :)

In the past it was okay... it was like a "Embarkation Meet-and-Greet" but one last time for everyone to get together informally. Since everyone was there, then Secret Mickey had a convenient reveal time.

I'm still really on the fence to participate. With luggage restrictions, kids, and several more cities to visit I'm just afraid "what if" we get something too large to pack. I hate to be specific on gifts but would love to participate. Any thoughts? If small gifts, we can manage to join and would love to again. Just hate to suggest that if we do join (don't want to sound "high maintenance" which I soooo am not)

Sure it's okay if you are not into the SM to participate in the lunch.
The lunch is open for everybody!!!

It's not high maintenance to restrict gifts.
I would just put it in as an extra comment!!

I think that everybody has the same problems with luggage restrictions, so i would assume that all participants would consider this in what to buy.

We still have to discuss what amount and how many gifts so i'll make sure that i mention the weight/size concern too!!!

That's kind of the reason I haven't signed up. Too be honest, I just have too much other stuff to organise before the cruise. Especially as it's our first DCL, participating in the FE is enough for us this time.

Awesome! Will send you our info now.

On WBTA 2011, someone actually brought along a huge life-size bear that was HUGE! And I saw some stuffed animals. Our's were little - so no big deal. I will send you our info. Thank you so much!! :)

Wait a sec, so that rideable Bullseye and Jessie costume I got for your DS won't work??? HAHAHA

Last cruise we gave a shirt, favorite treats, superhero cookie cutters/spatula, tube of Dinosaurs, and a Skylander to our 2 SMs. Didn't take much room at all. And the stuff we got back was fine as well.

He was two tables over from us at dinner, and had the same servers as others from our DIS group. I promise the bear was larger than either of my children. Never heard the story behind the bear though.

:rotfl: Yep! Something like that works perfectly!

I have some "less busy" ones for sure. I started plain and kept embellishing ;)

Can do one of these first images near the bottom with the name printed in large block above the graphic in a different color

I think your example is why there was discussion a while back -- CMs relying on DCL badge color for that extra special greeting. Someone also mentioned if if KTTW card went missing and person not using it wearing incorrect color badge, is a clue to CM that might not be that person's KTTW card.

Kind of have not been keeping up here but how about something in green to signify the DISBoards....for the insert, that is?

I'd also be interested in the lunch if that's ok. But we aren't doing the SM or the FE (too lazy and not enough space, not to mention, not crafty, etc., etc., etc. :lmao: )

Worth a shot if you have something to tinker with! The hardest part is getting something down to the size we need and not cluttering, right?

If yes, I would love to go to the lunch.

No worries on not doing FE or SM. :grouphug:

For signing up - be sure to keep an eye out for the event organizer's post on how to sign up. It will give her an accurate count to give Lumiere's a heads-up for while onboard. Not a ticketed event but one it's good for them to know to expect a crowd of us at a certain time. :thumbsup2

Here is the list so far. If your name is on the list for yes, please either PM me here or on FB your stateroom number. If you are a maybe, please let me know if it is yes or no. If yes, I will also need your stateroom number.

If you are not on the list and want to join us, please also PM me here or on FB.
