Leave in 6 more days......:cool1:

Think we decided to just check in when we get there!!! Have a king room booked...my only request was a non-cap room, so hoping I get it!

We leave in two weeks! I know this has been asked a million times, but what exactly are the benefits of online check in? I have only one request...that we have connecting rooms for our family of 6. (We have 4 kids under 10). I have one reservation number for both rooms and it does say connecting rooms. However, I now know from these boards that nothing is guaranteed even if it says it on your reservation. So...am I more likely to get our connecting rooms by doing online check in or should I wait until I show up? I don't get in until really late though. Like 11pm. :scared1: What would you do? BTW, I don't care where I am located on the property as long as all of us can be together to celebrate our twins 5th birthday that Sunday. Thanks!

This thread is great! We are staying at POFQ for the first time ever in August and I'm pretty excited since I've always wanted to stay there. We love PORS and have stayed at the other moderates and a few of the deluxes but this one has been on my short list for a while.

I was wondering if someone could tell me how I can make a room request? I booked on-line with a pin and saw nowhere to make a request. I'd love to ask for a room on the top floor if I can figure out how. Should I call?

Now back to reading the thread. It's huge which is wonderful. :)

You should defintely be given connecting rooms under those circumstances, that's the official guideline anyway. Online checkin won't prevent that from being done, as the room allocations team should spot your booking a few days earlier and pre-block two rooms for you. If you are really worried, send them a fax a few days before you arrive asking them to double-check it for you.

Just phone the Disney Reservations Center (1-407-WDISNEY) and get them to add the request to your booking. You can't do it online.

Thank you, Andre!

So excited for all those who are leaving soon. Please come back and let us know how much fun you had and if you had luck with getting your room requests!

Online check-in: Benefits of online check-in: Your packet and key card are printed out and ready to go. Plus you can add your credit card (for room charges) when doing online check-in. So in reality you're supposed to be able to check-in faster than the doing the regular check-in. (This varies though. When we did online check-in 2 years ago, we waited in line 30 minutes. The people going through regular check-in were going much faster.)

As far as your room requests being granted: You are more likely to get your room request if you do the regular check-in. With online check-in your packet and key card are ready to go; they would have to redo everything if you needed to switch rooms. Plus someone who recently did online check-in said their room request was not granted. And the CM told them if something did open up, that they would be charged a fee to change rooms. Sounds like Disney is discouraging online check-ins from switching rooms.

Hope this helps! On my next trip I'm going to do regular check-in.

Thank you! This is our first trip to WDW and we are VERY excited. We have taken all 4 kids to DL twice before and I am happy to report, it did go well. Although WDW is a whole new undertaking with the bus system to worry about and the larger landscape. Thank you for the well wishes. Can't wait to see their faces when we pull up to POFQ! :)

That's blatantly wrong, I guess the CM was having a bad day!

The only way they should be charged a fee to change rooms is if their request was technically for an upgrade (e.g. they'd paid for a standard room and then asked for a swimming pool view, or a King Bed)

Thanks for the helpful information. Was not sure on how we were going to do check in. We will be there early so regular check in looks like the route we will go.

Going there with DH in October.
Thinking about online check-in
Is it possible to add different CC to each Keycard? Or has it to be one for both of us?
