Welcome!!! We are in 8C too, I think.. :)

I've seen a few things on San Juan on the Food Network but nothing big other then the fort yet.

We'll probably walk around Old San Juan and I want to go to the Bacardi distillery again. I've looked into it and it's changed A LOT from the last time I was there in the mid 80's. Might do the fort too, haven't done that before.
I highly recommend El Yunque, the rainforest, if you want to do something different. It's a spectacular place.
The beaches are beautiful.

I would love to do the rainforest. Do you think we could do it with a 3 year old and a 1 year old?

Brook, most DCL organized excursion are generally age 4/5 and up, there are some that are all ages, but they are generally city tour and such.

My dad drove us to the rain forest and we would stop and get out when we felt like it, so I have no clue how an excursion there would be handled. You could look over on cruisecritic.com for San Juan and see what others say about excursions there. You could also look at other cruiselines websites to see what types of excursions they offer in San Juan.

I don't know how you people can't tell your kids. I can't keep quiet for a minute after I book a cruise. I'm bouncing off the walls. I salute you all that can do that. LOL :yay::cool1:

Thinking about booking this cruise.... My hold up is not sure how Jan is weather wise. Have you guys gone in Jan before? I went last year in March on Magic Western Thanks!

We did a 4 day Bahamas cruise this past Jan. and Jan. 2 or 3 years ago and had perfect weather. We've cruised to the Bahamas in Feb. twice and had cold weather. It's really a crap shoot if the weather will be warm or not, but it's going to be warmer than DE so we'll take whatever weather a cruise gives us over a good chance of snow.
We've also done a Bahamas cruise in June and July and had cooler than normal weather.

Since this cruise goes further south, except for Castaway Cay, there's a good chance for very warm weather. I'll take mid 70's if that will be the high temps. I just haven't looked up the average temps for each port, that would give you a good indication of what the weather could be like.

Thanks for the info just booked it!!!!!!! Yay can't wait!! :cheer2:

I won't blame you : ) I checked weather.com and I think it will be good. Weather is almost the same year round. Regardless I am supper excited!!

I am trying to talk some friends into going .... hard though since not many inside staterooms and they all seem to be sold out. I did get one of my Friends to book so yay 1 st time ever having a friend join my family on a cruise. :cool1:

Many times it's cheaper to book an oceanview cabin or not much more to book a verandah cabin over the insides. When I was looking for our Dream cruise we just took in Jan. it was only $90 more to book the verandah cabin over an oceanview and it was cheaper than an inside cabin. So many people want to virtual porthole that come with the insides it's making the other cabins a bit cheaper.

I am happy one other family is coming with us. And I am super excited now because we were going to have all 5 of us in one room but we decided to go with 2 connecting rooms!!! wooo whooo!!!

Take a cord to keep the door open if you want. You don't want someone hand or foot getting caught, those doors are heavy.

My last cruise they did a kids thread for the cruise so they could talk to each other before the cruise my 11 DD was asking if there was one this time I told her no. Not sure how to start one or if there are other kids that would be interested ???

Oh thank you! I am putting it on the list.... I just figured they had a way to keep the door open.

This no reason to take anything to hold the doors open, your room steward will be able to fix you right up.
