Oh My! – The Brits Are At It Again! **COMPLETED** 11/13/11

Monday 10th October

It was a bright and early start on Monday morning as we were heading to the Magic Kingdom for an 8am Breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table

This is one of those ADRs that I had been going back and forth with prior to our trip; we actually had an ADR here for our previous vacation in May but I ended up canceling it a couple of days before we were due to eat there

We’ve done character meals in the past and have always really enjoyed them; give me big, furry and mute characters and I will happily chat away for hours on end but put me in front of someone who can answer back and I am stuck for words (a very rare event for me )

I mean what do you talk to Snow White about, I fear we have little in common :lmao:

I also thought it may be a bridge too far for DH, although he assured me that he was quite happy to indulge my desire to eat in every restaurant possible at WDW; he really is such a good sport as I suspect that a Princess Breakfast was not at the top of his ‘Must Do’ vacation activities

Once we arrived at MK it wasn’t long before the gates were opened for breakfast guests and we skipped up an empty Main Street (well I skipped, DH kind of strolled) with our ADR confirmation clasped tight in my hand

Whoop Whoop!!

We took lots of photos by the castle as it was still only around 7.45am before walking though Castle to the breakfast check in area

IMG_5082.jpg

You check in at a dedicated podium on your right hand side as you head through the Castle and check in was quick and easy.

On the left hand side is the check in desk for Bibiti Bobiti Boutique and that seemed to be much more chaotic than the Breakfast check-in area

IMG_5083.jpg

We probably only waited around five minutes before we were invited into the Castle to have our photo taken with Cinderella; she was of course beautiful and asked if we had travelled from England in a Pumpkin!

Right so with one not so awkward conversation over we headed upstairs to take our seats for breakfast

IMG_5090.jpg

This is when I instantly knew that booking our breakfast here was the right thing to do; it was just so cool to be inside the Castle for the first time and when we were shown our table I couldn’t believe how perfect it was :cloud9:

IMG_5092.jpg

We were literally right in the center of the window overlooking Fantasyland and it totally made my day

IMG_5098.jpg

The tables around us slowly began to fill as our server introduced herself and poured us some much needed coffee and OJ

We were also give some Fresh Fruit and Pastries to get us started

IMG_5093.jpg

IMG_5094.jpg

Fruit & Pastry Selection

The fruit was excellent, really fresh and perfectly ripe. The Strawberries and Pineapple were particularly good.

DH made short work of the pastry selection and really enjoyed the cinnamon roll; I tried a little taste of each but to be honest I didn’t think that any of them were that great and beside I was saving myself for the main event

IMG_5101.jpg

Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast With Berry Compote & Whipped Cream

Oh sweet heaven, this was incredible :worship:

I had considered ordering the healthy option (yogurt, fruit and granola) for about a nano-second before selecting this plate of carb overload and boy am I glad I did

The French Toast was delicious and the cream cheese filling was the perfect combination with the tart berries and whipped cream

DH opted for the regular breakfast plate

IMG_5099.jpg

Traditional Breakfast Platter

He also really enjoyed this, the sausage links were particularly good but as always the bacon was a little bit sad :sad2: the eggs and potatoes were both excellent and as he cleared his plate he looked a happy man

A very nice gentleman stopped by to hand DH a Sword and me a Wand together with a Wishing Star for a little ceremony that is performed with the Princesses later in the meal :goodvibes

The Princesses are introduced one by one before making their grand entrance and visiting each of the tables in turn

They were all lovely but I think DH fell ever so slightly in love with Belle who had a little joke with him and played her part perfectly

Everything seemed really well organized and the lovely ladies spent plenty of time at each table

We never felt awkward chatting away to the characters and they were all a pleasure to meet

We got lots of photos which I wont bore you with and no, that has nothing to do with the fact that all of the Princess’s were at least 20 years younger than me and clearly don’t start the day with Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast :rolleyes1

As we settled our bill we were handed our photo package from our Cinderella meet and greet earlier; these are included in the price and we were really pleased with how they turned out (you can add the images to your photopass account as well)

So am I glad I didn’t cancel this ADR again? you bet I am :thumbsup2

As we walked over to the Tomorrowland rope drop we suddenly realized that here we were, two 40 something adults, one carrying a Sword and the other waving a Magic Wand!

Pure Disney magic and something everyone should do at least once :lovestruc

Coming Up Next ..... MK Snacks

Love the shot of you on Main Street and I am so happy you didn't cancel your reservation :thumbsup2

The view from your table looks amazing and I need to try some of those cream cheese stuffed french toast :cloud9:

Thanks for another wonderful review, Linda! :goodvibes

I was thinking of adding CRT for breakfast in the summer and I guess YOU just made up my mind! :rotfl:
Guess what I am going to order? ;) :lmao:

Loved reading about the Trek - Simon and Kate are thinking about doing this next August - and I'm tempted to do it just for the food now!

I've never eaten in the castle and your review is making me think I'd quite like to do it now!

More please!

Great photo of you on Main Street and in the Castle. We've never eaten there (our boys would not be caught dead eating in a castle when they were young). We' read such mixed review of the food that we've never given it a second thought. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Wow, that french toast looks absolutely delicious. :worship: The reviews on CRT seem very mixed, but that one plate of food would make it all worth it.

Amazing pics - your table looks awesome (and there's nothing like getting pics on a nearly empty Main Street) :goodvibes

It was certainly a wonderful way to start the day :cloud9:

Oh I do hope you enjoy it Karin :goodvibes

Another one for May:goodvibes

I will look out for a meat eating/vegetarian/cocktail loving couple taking lots of pictures of food and drink:cool1:

:rotfl: I am easy to spot aren't I!!

I love your enthusiasm for CRT :cheer2: See there is still a child in all of us :goodvibes

Yep, I am happy to say that I am still a big kid :yay:

Hi Shari :goodvibes It's certainly worth eating in the castle at least once :thumbsup2

Thanks :goodvibes I didn't go in with any expectations about the food so I think it was really a case of being 'pleasantly surprised'

Love your meal at CRT! We should try it again sometime - we haven't been in years!

I'd like to try dinner there sometime, it would be great to get a window table and see Fantasyland all lit up; lots more places to try before we go back though :goodvibes

We were so lucky with the table and it really added to the experience :cloud9:

Monday 10th October Part Two

Magic Kingdom was fairly quite this morning so we made great progress around the park before heading off for a classic attraction and a classic treat

IMG_5114.jpg

IMG_5113.jpg

Dole Whip Soft Serve Swirl - Pineapple and Vanilla

I always go for the Pineapple and Vanilla Swirl as I think that the Vanilla really enhances the taste of the Pineapple

Only one problem with this creamy delight …………..

Two spoons, I had to get two spoons :sad2:

Coming Up Next – Earl Of Sandwich

Monday 10th October Part Three

We left MK around lunch time as the crowds started to roll in and headed over to Downtown Disney a visit to the old favourite; Earl Of Sandwich

As always the line was fairly big but it moves really quickly; they have a really good ordering and collection system in place and the staff really do a great job at keeping things moving :thumbsup2

Once we had collected our order and grabbed a couple of bottles of water we headed outside to find a table

IMG_5123.jpg

DH decided to switch things up a bit (he nearly always orders The Caprese or the Tuna Melt) and ordered The Original

IMG_5124.jpg

The Original 1762 - Fresh Roasted Beef, Cheddar and Creamy Horseradish Sauce

He enjoyed it but felt that the cheddar and horseradish combined made the sandwich a little too wet and probably would have preferred it with just the horseradish sauce; I suspect he will go back to his usual choices next time

I knew exactly what I wanted

IMG_5125.jpg

The Veggie - Feta Cheese, Lettuce, Roma Tomatoes, Cucumber, Red Onion, Roasted Red Peppers and Mediterranean Dressing

I just love this sandwich, I love the saltiness of the Feta combined with the slightly sweet Mediterranean Dressing and Peppers :cloud9:

We had a big dinner planned for this evening so as hard as it was we resisted the Bread Pudding (which is wonderful here) and grabbed some grapes to take back to the Resort

IMG_5122.jpg

Grapes ....... Exciting Huh!

As always Earl Of Sandwich was a great choice for lunch and we will certainly be back next time

Next Up – Flying Fish Café

Hi Linda, I just read your May dining report and caught up on this one too. Great reports and the food..... Wow, I am so torturing myself! I am dieting until I get back next year. I dont know if you remember me but I met you briefly on the Dream. I also ended up booking a Fantasy cruise, I think I will be getting on as you get off. Looking forward to seeing more!

Of course I remember you :goodvibes
Thanks for reading along; I am really excited about cruising on The Fantasy
Great that you have another cruise to look forward to as well!

Mmm yummy dole whip! :thumbsup2 Oh no on having to get two spoons.

Also great EoS review - of course I wouldn't expect anything less from this place

Pineapple vanilla swirl! The best food at Disney, tropical, sweet, creamy. I love that stuff so much that it makes up half of my username (with the other half being my favorite character). :lovestruc

Can't believe you actually shared it. I can understand sharing Disney cupcakes because they're enormous. But each and every drop of tart pineapple goodness mixed with creamy vanilla is like ice cream gold to me. I bow to your willpower and altruism. :lmao:

Are you sailing on the 5/19/12 Fantasy :confused3? If so, so are we :woohoo:. There's actually a rather large group of us DISers who met (via the DIS Cruise Meets board) before our Magic cruise in May 2009. We all got along so well :grouphug: that we decided to cruise together on The Fantasy :dance3:.

Yep I'm on that cruise too. We're spending a week at WDW before our cruise though. I have popped into the cruise meet thread but only once or twice.
