But We Haven't Lost Last Years Weight Yet! COMPLETED PAGE 32!

Sorry about how long this is taking me, real-life is getting in the way bad this year! On the plus side we have now booked next years trip, so I need to start planning where to eat! Yey!! :cool1: I need to get reading some food reviews again, I have been very slack!

On to our very last day. We had breakfast bright and early onboard the Magic, as we wanted to take advantage of a last, full day in the parks, so by the time we finally made it to MK we were starving. So starving that our first stop just had to be Main St Bakery!! We shared another one of the huge brownies, and a big scoop of creamy ice-cream. This was as good as the first (walnut) one – so dense and rich – and the ice-cream complimented it perfectly. I really recommend these brownies!

Lunch was back to our old favourite . . . Beaches and Cream. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table to open up this time. I couldn’t choose between the chilli cheese dog or the cheese burger, so decided we should order one of each and have half each. Tony reeeeeally wanted a burger and STILL hasn’t forgiven me for making him sacrifice half of his :sad2:! And to be fair he was right – I could still taste the chilli half way into the flight home!!!!! Not a good meal when you are going to be separated from your toothbrush for another 15 hours!!!!

So we ordered double cheese burger and a chilli cheese dog, both with fries. They were both as good as ever. The burger was moist and juicy, and the hot dog was absolutely top-heavy with chilli and cheese (as you know I never mark a place down on giving me too much!!). Although I wish we had got a burger each this was still a great last meal, and we gave it 9/10 each. We will definitely return again and again!

But wait, I hear you ask, what about dessert?! Well we fell so in love with Ghirardelli’s this trip that we decided to head there again! Now I’m home and dreaming of the No Way Hose I am wondering what exactly possessed me, but at the time it seemed a good idea! So we headed off and both ordered the mint bliss – but this time I ordered mine in the waffle bowl as I was dying to try one! I am a sucker for waffle cones and this was good – so thick it was hard to break bits off. The sundaes were as good as ever as well – loads of ice-cream, cream and sauce. A perfect ending to our eating festivities!

Or was it?! :confused3 For as we were walking towards the car, I started moaning about what our next food would be (aeroplane food) and wondering if we could stop somewhere like Walmart and get some pre-packaged sandwiches. Then Tony (and it is moments like this that make me remember why I married him ) suggested going to the Earl and seeing if they had any cold sandwiches we could take with us . We walked in, and there was a whole menu of wraps we had never noticed before!!!!! Would you judge me if I said it was one of the best moments of the trip?!:rotfl2: Tony ordered the chicken Caesar (grilled chicken, mixed greens, croutons, and Caesar dressing with parmesan cheese), and I ordered the caprese (field greens tossed in balsamic vinaigrette and topped with tomato, mozzarella and basil).

The photos are bad as they were taken on the plane and I turned the flash off (I was a bit panicked about whether you are allowed to take photos on planes!!), but here they are. And I have to say – considering they had been in our bags for 7 hours at this point, un-refrigerated, and pulled around through the security machines at the airport - they were pretty good!! My wrap had gone a little soggy because of all the tomato, so I wouldn’t have that flavour again, but otherwise I will definitely be doing this every year now on our return journeys. Absolutely full of filling, really tasty wraps, and good, fresh ingredients! I felt so smug when the man next to me started eating his dire aeroplane food, and Tony and I whipped these out of the bag! A great ending!!

That’s it for the Disney food now . . . but we still have some cruise reviews to come!

We just added a short December trip for this year, staying at the Beach Club, and you better believe I will be having a No Way Jose, at least once, and I'm not ruling out more!

I'm confused - I thought your cruise was after your park stay? Or did you skip over the cruise and you scooted back thru Disney on your way off the ship? Maybe I missed a post that explained that - if so, I'm sorry!

I love your reviews and really hope you are able to at least start your Magic review - I sail in a tad over 2 weeks!

Great to see you back again. :) And congrats on booking for next year!! :teeth:

I can't wait for the DCL food reviews!!!!!!

Man, I don't know if I would pick Ghiardelli over the No Way Jose at B&C! I would be totally torn! But I do know that I will be trying that mint bliss sundae come September!!!!!

Another wonderful update!!! :goodvibes

And I am happy you have already booked your next Disney vacation! :cool1: More yummy food to look at for me!! :rotfl2:

I made a few notes to update my itinerary as we leave in 8 more days for another 4 weeks of Florida bliss and I guess that brownie is definitely calling my name (hope the magic cookie bars will forgive me, :lmao:) I need to try that mint ice cream cone and I never noticed the wraps at EOS either :scared1:!! What a good idea to get some for the trip home - we have a long flight with less than yummy food too!! THANK YOU for all the good tips!!! And THANK YOU for going again!!

Can't wait for the cruise food!! popcorn::

You went to beaches and cream and didn't get dessert  I'm pretty sure that's a crime. Although that second ice cream from Ghirardelli’s doesn't look so bad either. Guess I better try them this time so I can compare.

I'm so sad you've reached the end-- I want to keeping reading more of your reviews from WDW!!

So sad that your at the end of WDW food report :sad1: BUT so excited at the prospect of DCL reviews! Weve got a 4 night cruise booked for our honeymoon next December

Seriously late to the party and only found you because someone nicely commented on the last food trip report which popped up on my subscriptions.

I don't have the time for trip reports, but for you I will make an exception cause I so enjoyed your last one.

We also tried the Cheesecake factory on your recommendation on our trip, fab, loved it.

I have a recipe for a magic slice somewhere that sounds pretty much the same as the one at WDW it is lovely I haven't made it for a while might have to hunt it out again.

Kirsten

Just finished all the reports, love your reviews, very depressed now as we won't be going for such a long time. We want a new baby and house extension in the coming year doesn't leave a lot of money for holidays to Orlando.

Look forward to the cruise reviews.

Kirsten

Sonya, I am off work next week as well, so I can read em as you type em, fab :cool1:

Well I got one up at any rate!!!!! Blame the decorating!!!

Sorry you didn't have a great experience at CM. We are going to dinner and hope it is better. Seems most people don't like it lately.

I am going to Earl of Sandwich and can't make up my mind about the original or the Italian so I will have to go twice.

We really enjoyed CM's at dinner last year and plan on trying it again next year, its just breakfast we didn't like! Hopefully you will have a great time!

Definitely try both at the Earl if you can squeeze in two visits - they are the two I am definitely going to have again next year!

Can't wait to hear about your cruise. Can you believe we have never tried Earl of Sandwich, I need to google and see if they have any locations close to me in Atlanta. Your descriptions of their sandwiches make my mouth water. Great reporting Sonya, how sweet about the cake, you have a keeper in Tony!!!

Never tried the Earl!!!:scared1:

I WANT A MAGIC COOKIE BAR:mad:hey just out of curiosity what kind of krispy kreme doghnut was the one in the top right corner

I WANT ONE AS WELL!!!!!! Which picture are you referring to and i will try identify!!!

I always love your food reports. I really appreciate the Ohana one, because I totally forgot about their banana dessert! DD10 has a severe banana allergy!

Pays to look at the dining reports!

Phew! That's a crisis averted! And may I offer my services - if you bring me along on the trip I will eat all your DD's portion of dessert do you don't have to worry about waste!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the update...Beaches & Cream cheeseburger looks really good.

I could really eat one right now!

yum yum , can't wait for the cruise food:woohoo:

Great to see you back again. :) And congrats on booking for next year!! :teeth:

15 months to wait . . .:sad2: :scared1:

So sad that your at the end of WDW food report :sad1: BUT so excited at the prospect of DCL reviews! Weve got a 4 night cruise booked for our honeymoon next December

Oh which cruise? 3, 4 or 7 nights?! You will LOVE it, we had the best time! I meant to ask before, what date is your wedding? I was wondering if we will be there for it? We will be in NY from 25th - 29th November, then Disney from 29th - 11th December! If we are I am definitely going to come for a look! We always go visit the wedding pavillion again for a little look!

Seriously late to the party and only found you because someone nicely commented on the last food trip report which popped up on my subscriptions.

I'm so glad you enjoyed Cheesecake Factory. We were gutted we didn't get chance to go this year! Tony has already made me put it on next years plans (not that i have started planning already )

Ohh would love to see the recipe for the slice!

Just finished all the reports, love your reviews, very depressed now as we won't be going for such a long time. We want a new baby and house extension in the coming year doesn't leave a lot of money for holidays to Orlando.

Thanks for your nice comments!! At least next time you go you will have a baby to take with you - that will make it all the more special to wait for!

Were hoping to be in WDW 5-12th Dec with the wedding on the 9th, were not getting married at the wedding pavillion though, weve picked the Yacht Club Gazebo - so you can come and stalk us there :lmao:

Weve booked a 4 day cruise leaving on the 12th Dec and then planning a few more days in WDW once we get back :goodvibes

YUM! We do the Earl sandwiches for our plane trip home too. They are so good, and it lets Disney linger a little longer.

Found the recipe for Magic Slice,

It is a New Zealand recipe but all items can be found in the UK.

I use rich tea biscuits, now obviously this isn't the Magic cookie bar thing from WDW but it is very very yummy.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups crushed plain sweet biscuits 75 g butter, melted
1 cup Nestlé Milk Choc Bits
1 cup raisins
1 cup desiccated coconut
1 cup flaked almonds
395 g can Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk

Method

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and line an 18cm x 28cm tray. Make sure you don’t use a larger tray than this as your base would then be too thin.

Combine the crushed biscuits and melted butter. Press in the base of the tray, like you would making a cheesecake.

Now make layers on this base, using all the ingredients and spreading it evenly, starting with the CHOC BITS, followed by the RAISINS, next the COCONUT and finally the ALMONDS.
Lastly, pour the CONDENSED MILK evenly over the top.

Bake for 25 to 30 mins or until the top is golden brown and the centre is firm. Allow to cool in pan before inverting to a chopping board and cutting it into slices. Finger licking good!
