Ok you guys...its on, the LIVE Nicki and Todd..Summer edition!

Thanks for the great trip- I almost felt like I was right there with you guys! I will be looking forward to your trip in October!

Thank you for all your kind words, so glad you decided to post! The baby aspirin thing, I am 100% with you on that one! We will be here on Oct 22, hope we can meet for a drink at F&W!

I just caught up on your final reviews. So glad you enjoyed the spa. :cloud9:I may have to go check that place out. In April I stayed at Saratoga Springs and decided to check out the spa there. The spa itself was very nice but my massage was nothing special (and way more than it costs at home!). I'm glad I did it but not sure I would do it again, at least not at that spa.

You review of the Flying Fish convinced me I needed to add that to my list for October. We went there last October and it was great.

Sounds like you had a really nice couple of solo days. I'm so sad your trip is over now and we'll have to wait until Oct for more reviews. I'll need to find something else to entertain me until my next trip in August.

I would love to meet for a drink at F&W in Oct -- then I can really get live drink recommendations from you! Sounds like you will be getting there on my last night (I leave on 10/23). I will be solo so don't have to worry about anyone else's plans but my own :goodvibes And I love Epcot and F&W so I'm sure I will be spending my last night there. Hope we can set something up!:yay:

I'm sorry to see your trip....and your trip report end - but probably not as sorry as you are! ;) Thanks for sharing with all of us. :goodvibes

Wow, I haven't been to Chefs in a while, but that lunch looked fabulous! I would have gotten the French menu with profiteroles, too. Man, that chocolate sauce looked like sin.

And Remy is too cute! Ratatouille is rated high among my favorite Pixar films.

Looks like you'll be having a lot of good food for October! I have absolutely no concrete plans except Todd English's bluezoo™. Well, I'll probably cave in and do another Party for the Senses. But I am seriously thinking Bistro de Paris now! Especially if there are no food and wine events that thrill me.

And welcome home. :)

Thanks Nicki for another great report :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Sure makes me look forward to our trip in October too :goodvibes

Looking forward to your next trippie :cool1:

Nicki - Thanks for sharing yet another fabulous set of live reviews with us. You are truly one in a million my friend and I hope we get to meet in October, if only for a few minutes.

You're home!

I'm doing the QSDP for my short trip in August, but the Price Fix menu at Chefs looks awesome...and only $20??? I'm totally tempted to book it for lunch :rotfl: See what you do???

Thanks for the reviews Nicki. :)

You write them really well, and I can't wait to go back to WDW now. :)

Looking forward to your October Trip. :)

Thank you so much for reading them, just a little over 4 months to go until we can do it all over again!

Glad you had a GREAT time at the spa.

Hmmm that french onion soup at Les Chefs looks delish. The mac'ncheese on their menu sounds good. Have you had it? I'd like to go there to see Remy, but we won't be able to unless they extend his visit.

Did you say B-A-B-Y? How exciting! Pixie dust to you:wizard:

As always, thank you for your reviews Nicki.

Oh that Mandara Spa is worth every penny of DH slaving away at meetings making moolah! I have had the mac and cheese at CdF before and really enjoyed it but thought it was too heavy for such a hot day. Yup I guess we are going to start trying...will keep ya posted if anything happens

Okay since reading your review I've added Kona Cafe for breakfast and Wolfgang Puck's Cafe for lunch.

We also have Chef de France and Le Cellier. Very excited. Your review has inspired me to write my own...thanks again!

Rebecca

PS I caught up on your other reviews too- just as fab!

That is fantastic, I cannot wait to read your reviews, make sure to take lots of pictures for us! So glad you enjoyed my reviews!

Nicki,

That French menu at Chefs de France looked great. I would have ordered exactly what you did. The quiche lorraine looked spectacular. :thumbsup2

Loving your Oct list as well. GF tea is one of my favorite things to do. :goodvibes It's so nice and relaxing. F&W booths are the best.

It was a great lunch, the quiche was the best part! We enjoyed the GF tea so much last year, I would love to fit it in somewhere!

Thanks for the great trip- I almost felt like I was right there with you guys! I will be looking forward to your trip in October!

Glad you had a great time! Happy to give you a "Disney vacation"!

I too am sad the trip is over but I was getting crazy being alone for 2 days...I dont know if I could do it for more than that, really missed the hubbykins. We were thinking about the SSR Spa but I think we are going to stick with the Mandara. You will love FF again, we did and I plan on going back in Oct too...got to get my snapper on! Maybe we can catch up..we will arrive on the 22nd and go to Epcot so I can catch Michelle Branch, hope to get there around 6pm...will PM you closer to that time so we can coordinate drinks somewhere!

I'm sorry to see your trip....and your trip report end - but probably not as sorry as you are! ;) Thanks for sharing with all of us. :goodvibes

Thank you so much for reading them, its because of all the info I have learned from other Disers that I write them!

Oh Chefs was fantastic, I loved it and it wasnt that expensive...the chocolate sauce was so darn decadent, I would love a bowl of it right now with some huge strawberries and peaches! How is the Party for the Senses? Do you think it would be something DH and I would enjoy?

Thanks Nicki for another great report :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Sure makes me look forward to our trip in October too :goodvibes

Looking forward to your next trippie :cool1:

Oct is not that far off babe...just 4 more months...we can hold out until then right?! Just keep watching the Disney travel DVD, that helps get you over the hump :goodvibes

Nicki - Thanks for sharing yet another fabulous set of live reviews with us. You are truly one in a million my friend and I hope we get to meet in October, if only for a few minutes.

Oh hon, I love ya! We have got to meet in Oct, when we get closer to that time lets see what we can do!

Home and back to work to make the money to go back to Disney, its a vicious circle I tell ya!

I thought Chefs French Menu was a great deal, and I had the TIW card so that was 20% off and add in the tip it was a lot of food for not too much money....and it was a very relaxing lunch with a little visit from my favorite rat! When I showed Todd the pictures he was so jealous, he wants to go there for lunch in Oct too!

So sad it's over. I've loved following along. I am totally sold on Mandara Spa - have to find a way to fit that in! Looking forward to your Oct trip reports!! :upsidedow

I loved your dinning reviews...thank you so much for sharing.

Since you and your husband loves to eat would you chose to do DxDDP and stay at a value or would you choose Swan if they offer a good deal (like $149 a night). I guess we love to eat and we like to do eat down meals (part of our Disney vacation...we really don't like counter food) but this year we can't afford a deluxe hotel. We love Swan but thinking of value and getting free dinning and upgrading to Deluxe meal. My husband says lets go to Swan and don't deal with meal plan but I think it would save us money. I would really appreciate your thought on this b/c the restaurants you pick tend to be the ones we like. We never stayed in a value.

Me too! The Mandara Spa does look delightful. It might be on my to do list in August. Does anyone know how tipping works (what percentage, etc.)? It has been years since I've been to a spa.

Thanks for the great reviews. I am usually just a "lurker" offering occasional TA info. Your reviews are amazing. We usually travel to the World 2x a year. This August we are lunching at Chefs just to see Remy. Can't wait to show my dd11 your pix. You may have just motivated me to do my own review for that trip. We are trying a lot of new restaurants. Thanks again.

It went by so fast, and I even had 3 bonus days! I wish I had a Mandara Spa by my house ;)

Thanks for reading them! I have been kicking around the dining plan alot but we do have the TIW card and there are times where we skip meals, grab something small or just share food so I dont know if this is worth it to us, if I did go for the dining plan I would go for the deluxe, not so we can eat at 3 TS a day but so I can have 2 TS for signature places.

With us it is all about the price of the resort, we love deluxe resorts and if I can get a nice discount that is where we will stay, if the Swan/Dolphin runs another deal we will stay there and if not we have no problem staying at a mod...but it would have to be POFQ because it is so small and quaint, no waits for buses or crowds at the food courts. We have stayed at the values and other mods before and the buses are just packed and the food courts are loaded with people, that doesnt do it for me....So I guess I would say we would choose the Swan/Dolphin and not do the dining plan, it probably all works out in the end anyways :rotfl:

There was an automatic 20% added to the bill..but the masseuer was worth more than that :worship:

Thanks for the great reviews! I'm sad it's over, but October will be here before we know it.:)

You are right, it will go fast since they start to put Halloween decor out in the local stores in August! :rotfl2:

Thank your for your kind words!! I am so glad you liked the reviews and I hope you love your lunch at Chefs as much as I did...I had the first seating at noon, and Remy made his appearance around 12:25 or so...my waited told me to relax and sit as long as I wanted, there was no way I was going to leave without seeing Remy..he is so cute! He comes to every single table.

My April trip was solo -- I just bought DVC last year and had developer points that there was no way I was going to let go to waste! I'm single (still looking for the right guy...) and and everyone I knew had either just gone or was going with me soon. So I just bit the bullet and did a solo trip. I think if I had a significant other I would have been more lonely but I actually had a really nice time. In August there will be 8 of us (my 2 best friends and their kids) so there will definitely be no "me" time, but it will still be a fun trip. So far the Oct trip is a solo trip but I think it will be nice after our crazy August trip!

Trying now to work out my schedule for Oct. Will have to book ADRs next month so I guess I'll need to figure that out soon. But right now I plan to be in Epcot that last night. I really love F&W (this will be my 4th trip during that time) and I'm sure I'll want to soak up the atmosphere there before going home. Looking forward to getting together for a drink! :goodvibes By the way, your Oct ADR list looks great - a lot of those places are on my list too. At least when I get home I can read your report and it will feel like I'm still there :thumbsup2

Oh Chefs was fantastic, I loved it and it wasnt that expensive...the chocolate sauce was so darn decadent, I would love a bowl of it right now with some huge strawberries and peaches! How is the Party for the Senses? Do you think it would be something DH and I would enjoy?

Hard to say. There are quite a few people squeezed into the event nowadays. I think there are pros and cons to doing the event, but if you are prepared to be on your feet for a few hours, I'd think you might enjoy it. There's a lot of grazing, so that part I enjoy. I found it easier this year to take photos of the signs before the food, because many items were difficult to identify otherwise.

Oh, Nicki....so sad that your trip is over! I've been lurking here forever, but I love, love, love reading your reviews and just had to finally say hi. Your October lineup looks great...can't go wrong with Jiko (my favorite), and DH and I are also hoping to try Citricos for the first time when we're there in Nov. Definitely would love for you to try out Paradiso 37. I'm curious about that, and if you have good things to say about it, then I want to add it to our schedule in November. Now get some rest and walk off all that yummy food!

This was my first Nicki and Todd report - now I know what all the hype is about! Thanks for sharing your trip with us! :goodvibes

F&W is a great thing, lots to drink and eat but I dont want to miss out on my favorite TS places either....oh I hope my metabolism can burn it all off so I can eat and eat and eat!

Hmmm...I will have to look into it...it is pretty costly too right?

Thank you for coming out and saying hi! :flower3: I appreciate you reading my reviews. Do you know what we had for dinner the other night, peanut butter sandwiches, it was such a nice light dinner after eating our way through WDW!

This was my first Nicki and Todd report - now I know what all the hype is about! Thanks for sharing your trip with us! :goodvibes

Thank you for reading! :flower3:

Phwewwww..just finished and caught up on another great Nicki review! I'm living vicariously thru you since we won't probably be back to the world for a couple of years..:guilty: Looking forward to your October review, F&W is our favorite, we were there for that last October. Counting down the days with you! :yay: OH! and thanks for posting the Welsh Dragon, don't know how I missed that when we ate there in October, this type of drink is right up my alley!
