Thanks! I want to enjoy having "mousekeeping" before I move over to points! lol

Thanks for all of the wonderful information about the GF. We are staying CL in June and I'm a gastric bypass patient and have to have lots of water. I've seen entries by people that they were able to get cans of soda from the lounge area on their way to their room, but I haven't been able to determine whether the water is by individual bottles or you pour from a large 2-liter bottle. My DW likes her Diet Coke and she will enjoy that at night in the room. I need to know whether to bring my own case of water or will I be able to get a bottle or two from the lounge for the evenings? TIA

Hi - You will love staying club level at the GF! We will be in RPC this summer too and can't wait!

There are NO small bottles of water in the lounge. There are just the big bottles of Evian and sometimes the big bottles of Perrier. I would recommend bringing a case of individual bottles - we always do in the summer!

I always pour each of us a glass of Evian at night. You could ask about bringing a large bottle back.

Hope you have a great trip! :)

:rotfl: I understand completely. Are you moving over to BCV? Love that split!

We always buy a case or 12 pack of water too...even in Dec. and January.

2 questions
1 explain valet parking how much does it cost how much must you tip each time you get your car
2 can you walk from the GF to the Poly?

Valet parking costs $10.00 and we tipped them when they brought our car around.

Yes there is a walkway beteween the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian, which is well marked and you also walk past the Wedding Pavilion along the way.

I am thinking of changing my booking from the Beach Club to GF but I would like to add a room request not to be on the ground floor because I am travelling solo can I do that? How have solo travellors enjoyed GF?

You will have no problem requesting not to be on the ground floor. We request that everytime we stay at the GF and they always honor our request :goodvibes

They do not offer individual size bottles of water in the lounge. Just large bottles of Evian and Perrier. You can take an entire bottle to your room if you'd like. The lounge CMs are so nice :goodvibes
If you are going to need portable bottles to take with you to the park I would suggest buying your own.
I have braces and can not drink anything carbonated so I kind of have the same water problem :)

Have a great trip

Just curious if anyone has been at GF during the lovebug season. We rented a cabanna for 2 days and I dont want to hang out if the bugs are gonna be all over the place. Do they spray to keep them away from the pool or will my cabanna have visitors. :scared1:

I just heard back from my GF contact and you can use the dining plan to order food at the cabanas and it is just like private dining from your room and will take 2 table service credits.

Where do you fill the refillable mugs and what drinks can you fill them with?
You get them at Gasparilla's Grill & Games. As for what drinks they have I remember seeing Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and some others on the drink machine which I can't remember. Besides soft drinks you can also use the mugs for coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

I am curious about this too. When exactly is lovebug season?

Aside from the smaller less desirable lounge and not being in the main building, will we get the exact same food offerings in SL? Can you tell we are all about the food? I like the fact that SL runs close to the same price of Poly GVC, which I can convince myself is not that bad price wise. I am so weird, i have to at least FEEL like i am getting my monies worth.:rotfl2: By the way I am considering this for June 2010.:thumbsup2

I saw a question earlier about water at the GF, there are no small bottles anymore. Just the large ones. I usually grab one of those and some sodas and put them my fridge. That way when the lounge is closed I have cold drinks for my room.

Hi There I can try to give you some fun advice If you are staying at the Grand There is a lounge on the 2nd floor where you have drinks and listen to the band it is a nice way to meet other people and chat. If you are staying in the club levels I know on the 4th floor people love to chat with the staff and other guests. Also there is a pool bar as well. The Grand is a way to relax and spending time in the lobby just relaxing is nice after the day in the parks.I have gone by myself and have met wonderful people there. Have a Good time.:flower3:

I'm curious about the lovebugs at the GF too.
We've stayed at the Poly during lovebug season in the past - and the only place where they really annoyed us was at the pool. They are attracted to light colors (i.e. all those white pool towels!).
I think it's a good thing that the new cabana lounge chairs are maroon!
