I want to thank you guys for the support with the puppies. My sister thinks that she can find homes for 2 of them and Linnette wants one so that just leaves 3. They are going to be small so I am super hopeful that they will find homes. The flea problem seems to be under control. It took me an hour to bathe all of the puppies and the mom and treat her and it seems to have done the trick. Something you guys might want to remember Dawn dishsoap kills fleas. :cool1: I thought I was just gonna have to keep treating the mom. I was super surprised that I could bathe the babies. The mom has stopped scratching and the babies have no crawly things on them. I will no longer be doing anything to help this lady out. She has burned me too many times and Dh is upset about the puppy situation. The little guys have found a place in his heart. :love:I knew he was a softy.

Linnette is driving to LA to pick up a puppy? My Lord that woman has a good heart! (Not that I blame her...they are SOOO cute!)

Good to know about about flea issue. One time I had to remove a child from a house that was flea infested. It was in the summer and I had sandals and capris on and I got horrible flea bites covering my ankles/feet. It was awful. I can't believe you've had to deal with this!

I know someone who ships puppies and I am going to contact her to find out how much and how to do this safely. That sounds horrible for that child. The puppies and Roxy only had a little bit of fleas and will be bathing them all again in a day or two to make sure they are all gone.

I've posted a few times but thought I would share my experience this weekend. Now granted I am a very inexperienced sewer, learning and teaching myself as I go along. Did super with the free doll wrap skirt from YCMT, so I started on the easy fit pants for the dolls. Everything went smoothly until I was SUPPOSED to be sewing the casing for the elastic, but what I was really doing was sewing the front and the back pieces together.:scared1: I did not know what I had done, but when I figured it out WOW I felt foolish. The directions couldn't be more specific, I mean it even has pictures !!! My DH asked what the problem was and I assured him that yes I could read a pattern, and follow the pictures, I mean for goodness sake I am college graduate. He laughed at me all night, complimenting me on my new favorite hobby. He said in a very deadpan way, "UHH maybe you should take a sewing class" to which I responded very sarcastically "UHH Ya think!!!!" anyway I finished them and they look ok. I really have to take some pics and post because I am very proud of the skirts and pants.

I can't wait to see to see the pictures!

Since we have so many newbies here I want everyone to know that it is quite possible to learn to sew without ever taking a class. I think most of us here taught ourselves how to sew. I know I did!

Ugh, don't even get me started with a flea story!!! I have never had a pet and they just aren't for me and well, I don't expect to find that fleas have bitten my son in my OWN house because of a child I babysat!!!!

Hi Friends,

I was not a big sewing day and I only got the sleeves in 1 shirt and that is all. I will get the shirt done by end of week for the big give.

I spent all morning plowing out our renters, my mom, our good neighbors and then the acre of my front area. The snow plow truck is a beast! My new best friend is starting fluid. It works each time I can't the beast to start.

Right now it is snowing hard again so it will be another 5 am morning and then plowing.

Wishing everyone warmth and comfort.

Wow! So much snow to plow! What a sweetie getting it all done! You'll get to sew soon enough! For some reason I am suddenly in the sewing mood!

be prouud of yourself for learning and trying something new. When all of us started sewing we all made a lot of mistakes. and I have made a few where I was so mad at myself becuase it was a stupid mistake. But you learn and get better everytime!!
I can not wait to see pics!!

My mom taught me and I never took a class! It is all practice, practice, practice... you do not need a class.

Hi Everyone,

I whipped up the tinkerbelle top for the big give (DUE TOMORROW!!!) hopefully she will like it - i made a ribbon that goes from the center and then back around her neck to tie it - hopefully it will look more grown up to her!

Also, Daniel seems to be coming out of the posterior fossa syndrome a bit, he was more alert today when DH visited him and was able to stay awake and keep both eyes open during most of the visit. He is also eating very well and is really hungry. Yesterday he got his "tatoos" for the radiation and his helmet to protect his face at Christiana - and he is scheduled to start outpatient therapy at duPont next week. So things seem to be progressing. His latest MRI showed something abnormal where they took the tumor out - they are not sure if it is the nasty tumor tissue starting to grow back (this is what medullablastoma does) or if it is some blood that collected and will clear up (his tumor had a lot of blood vessels in it). Right now, they are saying that Daniel is mute - however its not total mutism, he answers yes/no but prefers to nod his head.....hopefully his speech therapist will be able to bring him around. Whew, alot going on ,,,,,,,,,,I cant keep up with it all, I can imagine how his parents must be doing this!

I almost forgot - here are the kids in their Christmas plaid - Tim refuses to wear a vest still (a year later) so we went with pants - he looked so cute!! The girls looked sweet too! Hopefully they will wash well - has anyone washed the pleated skirts yet???

Thanks All, Wendy

When I read the forum in the morning I wonder what are people doing up so late/early in the night?

Here I am worried that snow won't stop and wondering if I should go out and start plowing now? It is a nice light snow but it is getting deep.

I am still working on the bowling shirt for the big give but I cut two and make the other just a bit different because Hunter loved the fabric. So I am doing double work. It is a bit of a production line. I have the sleeves on both shirts tomorrow. I do the button holes and buttons last so I should have both done at days end tomorrow.

DH is have a great time in Mexico and I am having a great time at home.

PS: The snow just stopped I am going out at 11 pm to plow!
NOT SLEEPING !!! :confused3 well that is me ...

With the pasties a VD is possible though!:rotfl2: :rotfl:

There were also men's underwear for sale (boxers and boxer briefs). I can just imagine if I bought my DH a pair of custom made boxers. I don't think he would find that too amusing. But what really is funny though is that there are guys modeling them (no faces - I guess they aren't that brave)!
:rotfl: :rotfl: diet wild cherry pepsi all over the screen..

AAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!:headache:  :headache:  :headache:
my brother 7700 just broke. :sad1:

I was happily sewing along when the bobbin case about jumped out and bent the needle in half. I finally got everything apart and put the bobbin case back where it belongs, but I think there is a little springy thing that is supposed to stick out and hit the notch on the bobbin case to keep it from circling all the way around. Does that make sense to anyone? It seems there was something tiny there that it bumped into but now there is not and so it wants to swivel all the way around which means it will jam up after about every 2 stitches.

Just when I was starting to make some progress on my customs for our trip! It is not the end of the world because I can figure out how to sew with my new embroidery machine, but I don't know about applique. Every time I change machines and try to applique there is a new learning curve. Every machine is different. Hmmm...I bet my handy dandy gathering via thread tension won't work as well either. Okay, thanks for letting me vent. I'm sure it will cost over $100 to fix my machine and will probably take weeks. All right, I"ll stop whining now. :sad1:
:scared1:

I just bought the bowling shirt pattern. :cool1: What are the chances that I'll be able to get it made by saturday for the babys bday party? LOL
okay i know you can. I am currently doing 4 this week for my boys as valentine gifts....

Want to see something funny?
Yupp, me in boutique bottoms. Bonus points cause they look shiny in this picture.

A few of yall have been asking if I am still planning to go the the Dismeet. I wish I could still go, but if anyone remembers I am pregnant. Now I am having contractions preterm and although I have not been put on bedrest, another trip to Disney with all the walking might just put me over the edge. This pregnancy has been alot harder than my first two. Lots more aches and pains. I could rent an EVC but I can't bring myself to do that. I have always believed that pregnancy was not an illness or a disability. Besides, If I went to WDW and went to preterm labor, I do not think I would forgive myself. I will be sad and not go this time and look forward to my next trip. We are thinking Disney cruise!!

Really pasties? And it comes with double sided medical tape for putting them on. Seriously, is that not the weirdest thing?
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
1.)I hope you don't have to cancel your trip! I was hoping Teresa could meet you down there!! We need something to get her to stop whining about not being able to come to the Dismeet.

2.)Also, that is not the weirdest thing I've seen on etsy. There was a dress on there for women that had a pocket in a really odd place. When I read the name of the dress, I figured out it was an intentional placement. It was pretty gross!
1.)WAAH WAAAH WAAAH WAAAH!!!
2.)Three Words: Hershey's Kiss Costume :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
To explain, one of the funniest things I've ever seen was an Ebay auction for a Hershey Kiss Costume modeled by a guy with very hair legs! Heather felt the need to share the pictures with me!

I'm giggling like crazy just thinking about it again!

I love these!!! I was SOOOO close to buying that Dalmation material at a Walmart back in August. I thought I'd be able to find it again, but I never saw it at another Walmart. :sad2:

I love the Tink outfit, that is really cute. And the kids look so cute in their plaid! I've washed Armnida's pleated skirt a few times. The pleats need ironing to keep them crisp looking.

I keep thinking about Daniel and his family. It wasn't that long ago that they took him to the doctor for the first time, was it? To have all this happening so quickly must just be so overwhelming. They are so lucky to have so much support from you guys!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: Oh Teresa you are the best!!!! Thanks!!!!:thumbsup2

And tell me again why it is that you cannot come to the dismeet? Can't u just sneak out in Heathers luggage or something?

It was a run of fabric they were only getting once, the colors seemed off, but I could not pass it up. I bought a bunch and then realized I should have bought more,,,,, went back and it was gone!!:headache:

It's always the third child that has to cause problems. ;) Get lots of rest and and be safe.

When I was pregnant with my first I had preclamsia. I asked the college I was attending for a handicap parking tag so I wouldn' have to walk up the icy hills so pregnant and they refused saying pregnancy isn't a disability. and although I agree with that, I had to drop out that semester because it was too dangerous!

:thumbsup2 No problem! :thumbsup2

I think if I snuck into Heather's luggage, they would be just a teeny bit over the weight limit! :rotfl2:

But, really, I just can't afford it. :sad2:

Does everyone know what today is????

   No????

It's Becca's (llurgy) Big Give Ship Date!!!

   :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay: :dance3: :dance3: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Becca loves getting packages, so I can not wait to see her opening more! Mandy is really good at posting pictures on her PTR. Becca looks so excited in all the pictures it is so adorable! :lovestruc

Remember that we need to use Priority Mail to ship now.

And, please please please please please...... for the sake of my sanity, please if you signed up for anything (pixie dust, outfit, etc...) make a quick post to let me know the shipping status. If you can't make or send anything that you had planned on, please send us a quick PM to let us know.

Thanks guys!!! :thumbsup2

So I am trying to figure out what to make for my girls V-Day outfits......and since I am less than original I thought I would take a look at :wizard: and etsy. There is practically nothing on for sale for Valentine's. Am I too late or too early? Or are the sellers cutting back due to the economy? By the way on etsy there are pasties for sale for Valentine's Day. Really pasties? And it comes with double sided medical tape for putting them on. Seriously, is that not the weirdest thing?

I really like the shirts Jessica made for V-day, they are so cute. Pasties? Ewww!

I have done this exact same thing and I have done Carla's patterns many times! Please post the pictures so we can admire them too.

Love the big give outfit, I am sure it will be appreciated. The kids look so cute, I do like the plaid pants! I hope Daniel continues to improve.

I want to reiterate this because I purposely do not sign up for a lot of gives so I am available to pitch in last minute if someone cannot complete their project. I do not mind at ALL, and would love to help out if life gets in the way and a quick shirt or skirt is needed to complete the give. We are not trying to be pests, we just want to make sure each family gets the compete big give experience.

Thanks to everyone who participates in this project. :grouphug:
