Ok, so here's my question. DH and I are calling tonight to book our Aug. trip. We are planning to get APs, but our trip us after the 3rd. Should we book now? If we do, can they apply the discount later?

Also, I didn't think you could do the meal plan, but if you can that's great. Where can I get more info about this?

For my Poly stay in early JUNE:

The AAA rate I have is 10% off rack.

The AP rate I have is (about) 24% off rack. I wish it were 30%!

We already have a ressie but was wondering if this would save us money. I am willing to purchase the AP if it will save us in the long run but don't know if I have to already have the AP or can purchase it after the fact and just show it upon check in?

You can book now, then purchase an AP and show it at check-in.

We had CBR booked for June 12-19 at AAA rates ($161 weekdays, $171 weekends). Called this morning and got AP rates of $144 for all 7 nights!

June 26- July 1st (2 adults, 3 kids)

Polynesian 5 nights - $1704.40 Garden view ($340.50 per night taxes in) Rack rate $399 for Garden view

Also asked her for Beach Club 5 nights - $1541.25 Standard view ($308.25 per night taxes in)

Port Orleans Riverside June 6-8 standard view $162/night after tax. This completes our June stay , 12 nights total. AKV Club level studio 5 nights, POR 2 nights, OKW 1 bedroom 5 nights.
Looking forward to Riverside - we haven't stayed there in a while and we kinda miss it. Back when it was Dixie Landings it was the first place on Disney property we ever booked.

We check in 7/2 also at the Poly. The rate we got is $303 including the 4th. We saved $1200

WE saved 128 per room for our 15 night stay two rooms two reservations. Decided to save rather than upgrade to a Mod. Pretty excited to be going to POP though and I can use the DDE card at the food court!

I did this with my reservation... My original reservation was a AAA rate. I called this morning and they only had the AP rate for my first 3 nights. I wanted to get the better rate even if for only part of my stay.

So I now have 2 reservations, but they are "continuous" so I shouldn't have to do anything as far as checking out/checking in a second time or switching rooms.

The CM who helped me this morning said there shouldn't be any problem, but I am to remind the CM at check-in about the 2 reservations.

He also said to try back to see if I can get the AP rate for the rest of my stay. He said people cancel, things change, and it's possible they'll become available. I'm not counting on that happening (I actually highly doubt it will) but I'll still call now and then to see.

We did this last Thanksgiving. The first 4 nights were on a regular reservation then a second reservation with an AP rate for the last 2 nights. I could not get the same room category when I first booked, BUT, they ended up keeping us in the same room the whole stay so it did not matter. I reminded them at check in, then called down the night before the second reservation started. They told me we had the same room just stop at the desk in the am - it was a matter of minutes to "check in" again.

Wow! How did you get that rate? I am going in August (2-12) and would love to stay at WL but it is just a bit too high? is this a rate for Aug 1-2? Oops I guess so, I just reread your post here and edited mine. Here's hoping for good AP rates for the rest of August!!!

Hooray! We'll be there from June 7 - June 20. Old rate was $109 weeknights and $119 weekends, now it's $94 per night.

I thought for a minute about upgrading to a moderate but decided to spend that money on souvies instead.

Now I need to decide if we are going to book the dining package or not. I think it saves us a bit of money, but I have to do the numbers again. We already have DDE.
