Sadly i also have bad news.

A FDNY Lieutenant Died today he was 38. He died of double lung cancer thought to be caused by the world trade center collapse. When does it end?? I did not know him, but will go to his funreal. It just stinks right before the holidays, not sure if he was married or had kids. I kinda hope he did'nt in a way. Kids should not have to go thru that at christmas.

That freaking SUCKS!

Hey guys - how is everyone?

PJ - that's so sad & I wish it would end too.

Lori - How sweet! I haven't even thought of cards this year....

My update isn't all that great. My mom continues to do worse. Her kidneys are basically shutting down. They're looking at starting dialysis within the next 2 weeks. Her heart is doing great and if he damn kidneys would just work she could start to get better. Every week it just seems to be a new roadblock. She's pretty much given up mentally as well. I know it's not my body being poked and prodded like a catfish, I just wish she would fight a little bit. So I've been spending most of my time trying to figure out what options she has and what to do next. Cat, I know you know, but it's so frustrating when there's nothing you can do to make it better. I'm trying my best to make the holidays happy for the girls, but I'm having a really hard time with this. I haven't even started shopping for them yet. I had planned on calling wdw merch and getting them some of the stuff they wanted while we were there, it wasn't much but I knew they'd be surprised. Grace has wanted the monorail set forever....and we never have the room to bring back the biggest eeyore! Next time we go I'm just going to have those things shipped home!

Thanks you guys, I know it's silly, but I always feel like i can come here and type and cry and it's ok. So, however corny that sounds - i want you to know that I appreciate it.

We're supposed to get our first ice storm today....I was hoping to take the girls downtown today...but I don't feel like dealing with the ice crud...so we're gonna stay home instead.

Well, we went to see my mom today, & I swear you guys, she looks as if she's doing great. She was laughing and playing with Gracie and looks so much better.....She doesn't know what she's going to do about the kidney angiogram yet...they keep telling her kidneys aren't functioning "good enough"...that her creatinine level is a 6 - which is dialysis time, yet she feels great. It's all so confusing to all of us. she's afraid of the angiogram, because when she had the heart one done 2 months ago...that's what blew out her mitral valve, and landed her in icu for so long. I wish I could give her advice....I just don't know enough about it to make even a semi-educated guess.

Hi everyone, my first at home open house jewelry party went pretty well I'm happy with the monetary outcome, just wish the people turn out was a bit higher, but I understand that the weather kept people away!

Hi gang,

You gotta love the way things work out, or don't sometimes. So its like 3 weeks before x-mas and i'm going to alantic city next week, so why should'nt something go wrong, right?/ I'm driving my car on a major highway here doing about 70mph. I go to step on my brakes and the brake pedal falls to the floor, there is no response from my brakes. I have no brakes out of no where. I begin to panic and then calm my self down and start thinking what the heck to do, i'm still doing around 60 mph. I had to use my emergency brakes to stop the car and it took my like a mile and a half to get it to stop. So right now my car is in the shop, i had to have it towed.

They think its the master cylender, which is like a $250 piece alone with out labor. YAY, nothing like unexpected bills right before the holidays.

Dialysis is incredibly hard on your body. My mom would be exhausted - just wiped out, afterwards.

And it take a while before they 'get it right' - just like meds, they have to adjust for each person. If they take out too much liquid from you, and you dehydrate, you get muscle cramps - charley horses - everywhere.

And another sucky thing - youre limited to the liquids you can intake once you start it. So - even ice is off limits.

The whole thing rreally frustrated and annoyed my mom. She hated it. Just effing hated it. I cant believe she died then and there - when hooked up to that freaking thing.

And speaking of death - one of Joey's friends, died. There was a big group of friends, but split into 2 groups - the users and the non-users. And unfortunately his buddy was a user. But *** is with kids these days? Mixing stuff? I mean, *** happened to weed? Good ol' marijuana??? It cant kill you!!!

So, Sunday - every sunday the big group of boys goes to a park district field, and play football. Sunday Erik didnt show up - and then another boy went to get him - and his parent had attempted to wake him up that moprning, and of course found him. I cant even effing imagine.

I am so sorry to hear about your sons friend. My BF's son is 16 and going down the wrong path so I completely understand. It's scary what these teens are exposed to. There are things I didn't even KNOW about at that age let alone be exposed too. Scary Scary !
