Hi all!! Sorry I haven't been able to get an update up, but hope to do one tomorrow. Braeton is much better. He is still having some rought nights wit the headband falling and his ears folding, but he is getting better!!! We went to the Dr yesterday and he said Braeton could now leave the headband off when their wasn't danger of him bumping his ears. Of course he still has to wear it at night, BUT.................
I told ya'll I have a warped sense of humor right????
Well Dr. Brisset (An awesome Doc!!!) was checking Braeton out yesterday and despite the setbacks, he's actually healing faster than expected!!! Which is a miracle where Braeton is concerned. It usually takes Muuuuuuccccccchhhhhhhhh longer for him to heal than "normal". Anyway he's telling us about the band and how he can take a bath now and he can go back to school tomorrow and how he can now sleep int he bed and even lay flat (NO more propping up on the recliner or couch w/my arm @him!!) and I can touch his ears as needed.
Can you guess what I was most excited about??????

Now I don't usually like to do this necessary thing, but after a week and a half of no touching, them their ears was NAAA STYYYY!!! They had all the gook from surgery still in and on them! I've never been so excited in my life when he told me YES I could clean them. I asked for Q-tips right then and very carefully cleand them!!!

I never thought that cleaning out ears would make me so Happy!!


Anyway things are just a little crazy as usual. Braeton had another rough night last night, but is feeling his wheaties today!! Tyler got sick in the middle of the night. I haven't been asleep since I woke up at 6 a.m. yesterday and I'm a wee bit grouchy!! Then this afternoon I started having chills. To top it all off we live in gov. housing (for only 2 1/2 more months!! ) and our big inspection was today! And BOTH Boys wet the bed last night!!! First Braeton wet in their bed so I moved the boys to mine and then Tyler wet in mine!!! I don't know what happened Tyler was so upset at himself I couldn't be upset at him. Oh well Sheets will wash It could be a lot worse.

Got to go! Hope everybody is well. Thanks for the smilies for Braeton. He asks me to check for his smilies everyday now!!!

Anyway I thought I'd tell you Braeton was born in Lake Charles, La. Tyler was born in Sulphur. My DH is from La and we lived there for severa years till I finally got to come home to Texas!!!

A quick update! We are all feeling better today. Tyler sinus infection had impacted in his upper respitory system so they switched antibiotics on him. Braeton slept ALL night in his own bed!!!! AND started back to school today!! He was very excited to go back. I went with him and we explained to the class that he had surgery, let them come and look at the sutures and explained Why he had to wear the headband and that he got to come bak to school ONLY because they were such a good class and we knew they would be very carefull not to bump him and how they were such good helpers and friends that I knew they'd make sure he was o.k.!! They were all jumping @ I'll help him, I'm Braetons friend Mrs. D!!!

His teacher taught special ed for over 12 years before she started teaching Kinder and has a special needs child herself, so I feel he's in pretty good hands. But I was a little nervous about him going back!!!

I slept all night also Except I felt bad cause I didn't wake up to check B's band and it was off his ears when I got up this morning. But everything was o.k. *wipes hand acroos forehead*

Kids are so adaptable, aren't they? Ally's class and friends have seen her g-tube and accepted it as *normal Ally stuff* and she had an IV when school started this year, and no problems. Her BFF's mom (who is my friend too) was WAY more nervous about Ally's IV, but her BFF just said, don't worry Mom, we're only PLAYING. And then did this. hee hee
Totally cool Braeton's class is so responsive to him. Hey, I figure they are the next adults, we SHOULD be training them to be comfortable with different medical situations!

You know you are really getting close to your trip!! Are you excited??
