My wife has acquired Celiac Disease since our last major trip in2012. We came in 2021 for a few days and hit some spots that did alright. Rose & Crown has some baked fish. Flame Tree had good GF options. Liberty Tree also was great about keeping clear.

I know there's the GF bun option at burger joints. But for those who are gluten free, especially Celiac, what are some of your go-to places and meals?

My DH has celiac and he has never had any bad experiences. His favorites are Boma, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Satuli's Canteen.

At Boma they gave him a card with all the foods that had gluten or other allergies and which ones were safe. You can also talk with the chef if you need to. Then for dessert they brought out a plate of gluten free zebra domes plus some other items. He could have had refills too if he had any more room.

At Whispering Canyon Cafe they gave him his own separate skillet with all gluten free items. He loves BBQ so that place is always a favorite of his and they gave him gluten free cornbread.

At Magic Kingdom we ate at Liberty Tree Tavern and they gave him his own platter there too.

At Epcot we like the Le Creperie Cafe. They make the savory crepes with buckwheat which is not a type of wheat and doesn't have any gluten. The chef came out to talk to him and said she could also make him a dessert crepe with buckwheat if he wanted.

He had the salmon with roasted asparagus and potatoes at The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant and he said the salmon was cooked perfectly.

Quick service is a little more difficult but Satuli's Canteen in Animal Kingdom has bowls that you can customize and they are delicious. We can also try to find a place that serves salads because they can often be made gluten free.

Always talk to your server and question anything that might seem suspicious just to make sure. At the Cake Bake Shop the server said the gumbo was gluten free but went to check to make sure. She came back and said that it used to be gluten free but the chef changed the recipe and it was no longer an option. I'm glad she double checked.

She should be able to find some great meals. You can always talk to the chef too.

I am not GF, and have little knowledge of what good GF food is. However, my SIL is GF and ordered a GF pizza at Catalina Eddie's at Hollywood Studios. She kept raving about it, and couldn't finish it. She offered to the rest of us, who are all non-GF and skeptical of trying anything GF. I decided to try it and it was very good and I couldn't tell it was a GF crust. However, it did take a while for them to make it. But it was a much thinner crust and a much larger pizza than the other personal sized pizzas.

DH was diagnosed with celiac disease about 12 years ago, and we eat at Disney often, to the point that a few of the resort QS chefs actually recognize him. Wilderness Mickey's suggestions are great, especially Whispering Canyon. Two bits of advice: first, if you're ordering a sandwich or pizza, ask about the type and size of the bread or crust they use. Many gluten-free breads have very small slices, and he's had some pretty tiny versions of grilled cheese and other sandwiches (although sometimes they give him two to make up for the small size). Also, avoid the festival kitchens at Epcot; he's gotten sick a couple of times after eating "gluten-free" items, and we have a friend who's a culinary cast member and says that because the prep spaces are so tiny, cross-contamination is nearly impossible to avoid.

The fried chicken sandwich at Summer House is my favorite meal. Most of their menu items can be made gluten free. The Boathouse has great gluten free bread service and gluten free crab cakes. POFQ has gf beignets.

I had to eat GF for almost 7 years and had several favorites. A few not mentioned....

Jungle Navigation in MK - Hardy Har Char Siu Pork
50s Prime Time - Fried Chicken Allergy Menu
Grand Floridian - In general, they have some great sandwiches made with in-house baked GF bread. SO much better than the pre-packaged GF buns around property.
POFQ - Shrimp and Grits, GF Beignets
DS - Frontera Cocina pretty much anything on the menu is safe and delish.

I was scared of this place because of fried chicken. My wife freaks out a bit when the rest of us eat it. But if they have GF, she might be interested.

And the beignets at FQ are great, according to her. But I'm a Shrimp and Grits fan, so I'll give that a shot myself.

Mama Melrose. I know it seems backwards, but they make an excellent gluten free pasta and also have rolls with dipping oil for you.

fish and chips at Summer house, wife is celiac and had no issues with it, also it was very good, i had it too

Animal Kingdom- Satuli Canteen and GF churros from Nomad Lounge (my sons favorite food all trip)

MK: we do mainly quick service as I don’t love any of the sit down. Pecos Bill and Columbia Harbour House. CHH was the best we had there. We also ate at Crystal Palace and while it was safe the food was meh.

Epcot: we stick to Disney owned restaurants here, which really limits our options. You can tell if it’s Disney owned as they will have an allergy menu on the website. The BBQ place in America is good quick option.

We ate a ton of places and my celiac son never got sick. We stuck to Disney owned restaurants. We ate a bunch in the Boardwalk area if you’ll be there I can share more.

I have Celiac's. Disney is absolutely wonderful to eat at. Raglan Road has gluten free fish and chips plus onion rings and calamari. Babycakes in DS has so many wonderful treats. Everywhere on property has been able to accommodate me. My favorites are Nomad Lounge, Boma, Raglan Raod, Boathouse, Jungle Skipper Canteen, Ale & Compass and Brown Derby. All the QS places have allergen books that you can look at. I've been able to get a brownie sundae at Hollywood scoops in studios.

I’ve been gluten-free for a few years now due to some health issues, and it’s always a bit of a hunt to find reliable spots. I’ve had great success at Flame Tree, as you mentioned. Their GF options are solid, especially the BBQ dishes. Another one I love is Morimoto Asia—they have some killer gluten-free sushi options!

So you're not confused - You won't find Babycakes on the DS maps - it's been called Erin McKenna's Bakery since they moved from near World of Disney to near Raglan Road several years ago.

We recently returned from a week in WDW and DH and MIL are both celiac. They loved options at O’hana, Tiffins, Flame Tree BBQ, ABC Commisary ( loved the salad for QS lunch), at Connections Eatery in Epcot enjoyed the burger. Boathouse at Disney Springs was so so. Biggest struggle was MK- not great snack options, had to wait a long time for mediocre salad at Cosmic Rays. They felt great the whole trip, and had no issues. Hope this helps!
