Wonder - January 21, 2011 The Cruise To Nowhere In Particular..

Happy Birthday to Des & Tori - and greetings to Richard. A big thank you for letting us stop by and vicariously enjoy the Walt Disney Suite. It was a "sweet" suite! So glad we got to meet you on the PC cruise and this one.

We are so glad we got to know you! I saw that you said you were going to be down theis way next month..let us know! Would love to stop by and say hello!

Hey, does anyone happen to have an extra Mickey hand from the sail away party? We got there late and missed them getting passed out. When I asked someone on deck where they got them, she kindly gave me one of hers, but DBF never got one for himself.

I only have one, but I have four from Mexican Rivera Cruise that sailed immediately after this cruise.

I did enjoy this cruise but boy was it crowed. The Mexican Rivera Cruise immediately following was much more the norm. I did book the inaugural Disney Fantasy Cruise in March 2012.

We did the 2 night Back to Back with the 7 night MR afterward so I am trying to catch up after getting back home this afternoon.

We sailed the Wonder in January almost exactly 2 years ago and noticed that the food was better on that cruise than on the 2 night or 7 night.

The water wasn't too rough on the 2 night, but it was pretty bad at times on the 7 night. I grew up sailing and have never been sea sick in my life so that wasn't an issue, but the Pacific was much rougher than I remember our Bahamas cruise being. On the 7 night the ship had to keep the speed up to make the ports so there were quite a few days where we averaged 20-21 knots which didn't help matters.

The check-in process seemed to be much longer than it needed to be. I learned from discussions with CMs that there were a lot of new people and a lot of systems/computer problems which slowed things down.

There were also a lot of new CMs starting on the ship and a lot of CMs leaving the ship. Many of the CMs started new contacts on the 7 night cruise some were coming back from their break after their previous contracts, but quite a few were new to Disney. I would imagine that the contracts ending after the 2 night sailing explained some of the service issues people had. Personally the service we had on board was pretty good.

In general the ship didn't seem too crowded. It did feel like they hadn't really planned anything for this cruise until the last minute.

In the end it wasn't a bad experience, but it was too short to really enjoy. Maybe looking forward to the 7 night cruise made this one less interesting.

Our servers, Arlan & Juni, were particularly awesome with the two toddlers at our table. Arlan did magic tricks, they both made the Minnie bows and Goofy hat+ears out of napkins, and Ronald, our HS, would give the kids high fives every time he walked by.

We had Arlan & Juni on the 7 night afterward. We though Arlan was great, Juni was just OK. It seemed like refills took forever, but we did have a big group (13 people)

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the FEs - got some really great things. I misplaced the name of the person who put a lottery ticket in ours - thought you'd like to know that it was worth $2! Thank you!!!

I'm glad someone won. We haven't done fish extenders before and we fell way behind doing them for 7 night so we had to throw something together quickly for the 2 night and then we forgot to bring labels for either cruise.

I too did the 2 night back to back with the 7 day MR afterward. I think they where less than 15 of us that returned to the Wonder almost immediately after disembarking from the 2 night trip. My favorite part was hanging out in the adult pool and hot tub for about two hours before the MR passengers boarded.

Sounds like the B2B process went MUCH smoother after the 2 day than it did before! Did they have a CM escort you through the whole re-boarding process? The Panama people were pretty much abandoned and the CM in the terminal didn't know what to do with them.

Hope you had table mates that didn't abandon you!

Those of us that where B2B met in the Cadillac Lounge and where given a Minnie Mouse sticker and had a CM escort us off the ship. Once we where off the ship we where on our own and had to get back in the general population line to check-in for the 7 day MV cruise. Once we all checked in a CM corralled us in a separate area and soon after escorted us back on the ship. Pretty much a smooth process. I was traveling alone so I had a table to myself for dinner.

Hi Steve,
Could you please send me a high-res version of your Cruise to Neverland logo? I tried to PM you before the cruise, but I haven't sent enough posts yet to allow it.
Thanks.

I'm sorry that you couldn't get ahold of me prior to the cruise. I would have gladly sent it to you. I'll try to PM you and see if it'll work that way. Understandably I don't want to post my email addy on the public forums.

Thanks. I got it, and it looks great!

Hi Steve, I just wanted to thank you for the logo. We made shirts for the kids that were dropped off and signed by Mickey and crew and also did magnets for the doors. It made the trip a little special. Thanks again.:cloud9::cloud9:

Saw the post on the main board about the teen rampage and my heart skipped a beat since it happened on Jan 21. But turns out it was 1am on Jan 21, so it was teens from the PC cruise, not ours. I can't watch the youtube video at work, but apparently its pretty disgusting and people are up in arms and contacting DCL.

I know my kid was out late both nights, but I hope he didn't do anything stupid. Besides I don't think he'd be as malicious as this kid was. At least I want to believe he wouldn't.

I know...it was the night before we boarded. I posted. Got a warning...but I was pissed! Those videos were disgusting! The youtube videos are now removed now. But I can tell you ....it made me sick and mad as hell!

You're son could never do any such thing! Unfortunately, I think I was the recipient of some of his DVC magnets...glad I didn't touch them!
