Currently booked in a standard room at WL for Thanksgiving week.

Curious about pros and cons of switching to Copper Creek or Boulder Ridge studios?

I like that the DVC studios have a microwave but like that the standard rooms have two "real" beds. Family of four with two girls who will be 10 and 14.

I like that the standard room will likely place us closer to the lobby and restaurants, etc. Esp during Christmasish time!

Any other pros/cons that I'm not thinkinh of

Boulder Ridge uses one bed, one murphy bed, and one single pulldown bed. If your kids each want a separate bed, that might work better. The murphy beds use a real mattress, not like the old sofas.

Copper Creek is inside the Wilderness Lodge building, so I'm not sure how much farther a Copper Creek studio would be than a standard room.

(I'm not saying that you should choose Copper Creek, just replying to this particular comment.)

This right here. the murphy beds that they have been installing in the DVC villas are actually really comfortable! On a couple occasions we've slept on that instead of the actual bed!

@kmdrago1783, i'd suggest checking out a youtube room tour of a boulder ridge studio, the separate pull downs should be worth considering with two kids that age.

The newly renovated rooms at BRV do indeed have the Murphy beds and they are quite comfortable. The one (very minor to me) issue is that the BRV units are in a separate building. We actually prefer it; it is quieter and the elevators are less busy. But I agree that staying in the main building is also terrific - the lobby is wonderful!

Boulder Ridge is the most recently renovated and is the closest to the bus stop. When you have the murphy bed you can fold it up during the day and have a couch to sit on which I much prefer to sitting on a bed. The DVC studios also have a few paper plates, plastic silverware, and paper towels in addition to that microwave which makes eating leftovers or breakfast in the room more convenient.

I prefer BRV to WL proper and CC - I really like having our own lobby…

Agreed - we were closer to the lobby the one time we stayed in Copper Creek than we were any of the times we stayed in a standard room.

To all the Lobby People: What do you do in the Lobby that you need to have it so close?

Personally, I love walking through the lobby to get to my room - granted, that usually means I'm stopping in a gift shop or QS and spending money . . . .
WL - daily mouse keeping vs DVC w every other day.
When we pay cash for DVC, we have gotten daily housecleaning - is this different at CCV and BRV?

OP - I would price out a standard WL room vs. a BRV studio - we personally prefer DVC rooms that have added the Murphy bed as we have them to be very comfortable and the DVC rooms tend to provide more amenities - microwave, etc.

I would go with the new Boulder Ridge rooms... all indoor/covered walking to lobby

If you pay cash for CC or BRV, you get daily housekeeping. One thing to consider, the pull out in the CC studio is VERY uncomfortable.
But the kids would be in the pull-out, so it really doesn't matter.

I’ve stayed at both since 1994. Both are unique and you won’t be disappointed in either

The walk from BRV to the main building is covered, and not particularly difficult unless someone in your party has limited mobility. I like the way that the walkway is integrated with the natural area in that space. BRV is also very convenient to the bus depot, but less convenient to the boat dock. The BRV studio is ever so slightly larger than the rooms/studios in WL, but probably not by enough to matter.

I don't think the three options are that much different, so I'd be inclined to go on price, followed by availability. Points for the studios are the same for both associations, so if that's cheaper and both are available I'd personally opt for BRV over CCV due to the bed situation and slightly larger space. But, I also happen to like the BRV building a lot. The public spaces are calmer and more relaxing. The Carolwood Pacific room in particular is really nice.

Forget copper creek. horrible pull out couch bed. small rooms compared to boulder ridge.

The real deal comes down to wilderness lodge vs boulder Ridge.

I was always a wilderness lodge lover for those very reasons of being in the main building. Until I actually stayed at Boulder Ridge. WOW. The whole vibe as you walk on the wooden bridge from wilderness lodge to boulder ridge is such a special feeling. it transports you. the vibe is so much more WILDERNESS yet comfortable. the rooms are larger than wilderness Lodge, the new refurbished room with the AMAZING Disney art in the rooms beautiful. and you are a 2 minute walk to the from BR lobby to WL lobby. The only thing Wilderness Lodge has over Boulder Ridge is the walk-in shower instead of a shower/tub combo. Otherwise,

Dont even think twice, go with Boulder Ridge.
