I am too. I got so excited when I saw the trailer during the Super Bowl. I'll go by myself on Thanksgiving Day.I’m looking forward to seeing the movie!

I did not see Phantom on stage, or the movie, but I sure remember Wicked on stage Downtown. Amazing.I like remembering how I felt while watching it on stage.
Don't do it.I’m very excited for all you that are excited.
I’m not sure yet how I feel about it. There are some things, for me, that don’t belong on the screen and this may be one of them. Phantom of the Opera is my all time favorite and I’ve yet to see the movie - I just can’t do it. I like remembering how I felt while watching it on stage.
I really don't know anything about her current singing career (or scandals people have mentioned) but I do remember her being on a kids' show (called Victorious, I think) years ago, so she was an actor first and moved into singing from there. I think she'll do well.Ariana can sing, can she act?
She did a decent job in Hairspray. Of course, totally different character, but she has experience.Ariana can sing, can she act?
I get this. I love Les Mis, but have avoided watching the movie. The recorded concerts and stage production are brilliant, but I just don't think the movie would be the same.I’m very excited for all you that are excited.

It is Cynthia Erivo. She’s a talented actress with an amazing voice. She’s won Emmy, Grammy, and Tony awards and twice nominated for an Oscar (just needs the Oscar for EGOT). IMO, she and Ariana are more than capable in the roles and may put their own spin on the characters. Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard is cool too.Actress doing Elphaba .. has a very round face and doesn't have the structure to be Wicked Witch.
I know who she is. What I'm saying is she doesn't have the bone structure that has been such a very important component of the character of Elphaba and the Wicked Witch. I'm not questioning her acting (I did Ariana because I've never heard of her acting and she doesn't have a Glinda personality). FOR ME, a huge fan of the story, the Broadway show and the original move, the characters have distinct things that I'm not okay with them changing or spinning because they couldn't bring the same character to life.It is Cynthia Erivo. I’ve seen the show on Broadway twice and loved it. I hope the movie version delivers, although splitting it into two, released a year apart, just seems like a way to milk it for more money.
Funny, Goldbum is the only thing I am excited about (but not enough to see the movie just for him)Ariana was on Broadway in a show called 13. She can sing and act. I'm sure both actresses will be more than fine in thier respective roles. I am not NOT at all enthused about Jeff Goldblum as the wizard. The only thing I liked him in was the Thor movie. I think Goldblum plays every role as Jeff Goldblum in a different costume.
The two parter kinda throws me, I'm hoping the flesh the story our with some more elements from the book. While the musical is great, the book is SO much better.
I get what you’re saying, but disagree. I don’t know that a specific physical type is imperative. Many actresses have played Elphaba on stage, and they don’t all look alike. I saw the original Broadway cast with Idina Menzel, and the second time, years later, with Lindsay Mendez. Very different facial features, but both gave outstanding performances. I will watch the movie with an open mind.I know who she is. I agree here. I've seen several different Elphabas with different face and body shapes, and they all work. What's more important is her confidence through her voice and how it develops over the show.I get what you’re saying, but disagree. I don’t know that a specific physical type is imperative.
