Ok,
Of course now that I've made my reservation and all, Disney came with Destination D on Sept 24-25... urghhhhh .... :headache:
Does that mean the place is going to be packed those days?
Should I change my dates around?
I was hoping to catch the beginning of halloween but if that means crazy packed crowd I am willing to forgo it and move the dates up a week.

ugh... miley in 2008 and now this... do they hate me that much? :rolleyes1:guilty::sad2::rolleyes: ... :rotfl:

We also have our ressie for the first weekend in October and I wondered the same thing. We actually were at DLR the last weekend of September for the opening on VGC in 2009 and my dd's (14, 11) decided that in 2010 we needed to go back when they could attend the Trick-or-treat party. If we go to the D23 event we will miss that (again) and I will be in trouble with my dd's (again). What to do?:confused3

I have reservations for the week of Sept 12-18 and for Sept 19-25. I was leaning more towards the second week because of scheduling issues for my mom and also my DH and we wanted to see DL's Halloween decorations. After signing on today and finding out about this D23 thing, I am hoping we can work out the scheduling issues to go the first week. I'm sure the D23 thing will bring in more crowds throughout the whole week.

There is a rumor that only 1,500 tickets will be available for Destination D and most activities take place at the DLH...so..no impact at all I bet. During the Expo hardly anyone even hit the parks since there was so much great stuff to do elsewhere.

I really really hope so. I'm intrigued by the idea of attending BUT with DD I don't think that'll be too much fun for her. So I really just want a relaxing trip. With 1500 extra people attending on the night of the 24th or worse yet if they decided to close the park early for the attendees I'll be really miffed...

oh well, I think I might just have to either move up or down a week to avoid the mess. :headache:

How is this event different from the expo? Is it supposed to be smaller?

You can check it out on D23 site, but from what has been reported so far it is all about Disneyland, MUCH smaller, and only on Friday and Saturday..I'm guessing it may start Friday evening with some big hooha and then have presenters and such on Saturday..al geared to Disneyland history. I really want to go but if there is only 1,500 tickets, that is not near enough and will make for a very roughh time getting tickets.
The next Expo is in August 2011..whoo hooo:lovestruc

On the evening of the 18th the 1313 Club is having what I believe will be a more personal event with some Disney luminaries:

So if you do choose that first week, you may want to check it out! ( I'm on the planning committee - it will be great!)

Gah!
No luck... missing dates on the week before and after my week... urgh... :headache:

Crossing my fingers that they will make the events at the DLH for the whole 2 days and absolutely no early closings of any sort... grrrr...

ok..the site says 2 full days so I guess it's all Friday and Saturday..also, if it is indeed at the DLH Grand Ballroom, 1,500 is right at capacity...I wonder how much I'm gonna have to pay for this and hope I can get tickets :) This will NOT impact the parks.. 1,500 people is like a spit in the sea for DLR.

Where is this event taking place? We talked to you folks at D23 and the 1313club sounds interesting.

Also will someone please cancel their reservation on the 23rd of September for a 1 br at the VGC so my waitlist can come through and I can stay all three nights! :rotfl2: I have Friday & Saturday, but really need for Thursday to come through!

The 1313 event will be at the Disneyland Hotel this time! We're very excited about that. More details keep being revealed on the 1313 club website.

I checked the website today and it says that no new members are being accepted. Does that mean that no one else can go. :confused3
