Why does Dasani put SALT in their bottled water? Blech!

WHAT DOES THE NAME DASANI MEAN?

GOOD QUESTION. FOR THAT MATTER, HOW DEEP IS THE OCEAN? HOW WIDE IS THE STREAM? WHAT'S THE PRICE OF TEA IN CHINA – AND WHAT WOULD THAT TEA TASTE LIKE IF YOU MADE IT WITH DASANI? YOU SEE, THESE ARE THE TYPE OF QUESTIONS THAT DON'T HAVE EXACT ANSWERS, BUT WHILE WE CAN'T SAY EXACTLY WHAT DASANI MEANS, WE'RE PRETTY SURE IT SOUNDS CRISP, AND FRESH TASTING. AT LEAST THAT'S OUR STORY AND WE'RE STICKING WITH IT.

WHAT DOES DASANI COME FROM?

TO CREATE DASANI, COCA-COLA BOTTLERS START WITH THE LOCAL WATER SUPPLY, WHICH IS THEN FILTERED FOR PURITY USING A STATE-OF-THE-ART PROCESS CALLED REVERSE OSMOSIS. THE PURIFIED WATER IS THEN ENHANCED WITH A SPECIAL BLEND OF MINERALS FOR A PURE, CRISP, FRESH TASTE.

WHY DOES DASANI’S NUTRITION FACT PANEL LIST SODIUM AND 0g?

THE PURIFICATION PROCESS USED TO MAKE DASANI REMOVES VIRTUALLY ALL MINERALS AND IMPURITIES FROM THE WATER. BUT IN TASTE TESTS, PEOPLE PREFERRED DASANI WHEN EXTREMELY SMALL AMOUNTS OF MINERALS WERE ADDED. HOW SMALL? SO SMALL THAT THE FDA CONSIDERS THEM ALL, INCLUDING THE SODIUM, TO BE NUTRITIONALLY INSIGNIFICANT.

I can tell you that--it's awful. We ran out of drinking water on a camping trip so we resorted to Dasani in the tea kettle. Bleah! :crazy2: I love Dasani, but that was just nasty!

My nurse told me never to drink Dasani (when I was pregnant) because around here they get the water from the Detroit River :earseek:

I like Ice Montian, cheap and tastes fine to me. :rolleyes1

I only drink Dasani if that is ALL there is! I agree that it tastes terrible! I am so in love with Aquafina :teeth:

I like Aquafina, too. If I have a choice that's always the one I pick! :)

I hate Dasani and the fact that when you open the bottle there is a "fizz" noise just like when you open a bottle of Coke. Bleck! I don't care for Aquafina either. It tastes bitter to me and makes me even more thirsty. My favorites are Dannon and Deer Park.

I can't stand Aquafina. Dasani isn't too bad if there isn't any other option. I prefer Zephyrhills.

I like Deer Park for bottled. Most times I drink water I put through the Brita filter.

Dasani isn't my first choice, but it's okay. I prefer Aquafina or Poland Spring.

They all taste the same to me. Except for Evian.

I prefer Dasani. I think it's the blue bottle opposed to the clear one, the blue bottle just makes Dasani look colder than Aquifina.

Definitely hate Dasani. It is only bottle "municipal" water. They add salt for taste. My fave is Dannon Spring Water. It has no taste.

I'm the opposite. I recently bought a case of Dasani and a case of Dannon. I liked the Dasani but not the Dannon.
