As I was reading this I realized I've really only used a few products on my face, ever. I used Noxzema while I was growing up, and sometimes Ivory soap, which was what we had in the bathtub. When my babies were born, they used Dove soap in the hospital so I started buying it at home, and have used only that to clean my face for the past 15 years. I've used Oil of Olay Complete moisturizer/sunscreen for a very long time. That's basically it. (Maybe a few other products to remove makeup, but really never wore a lot.)
Over the years I tried different products here and there, but I felt like, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. (Plus many were so expensive and when I did try them, I sometimes began to break out.) I was fortunate I really never had acne, and was blessed with good genes in the skin department, thankfully. I have few wrinkles for my age, but probably plenty of sun damage from a childhood in the sun without protection, though nothing major. My mother's skin is gorgeous, and people can hardly believe she's 87. (And yes, I still smell the Noxzema when she's getting ready for bed, we have an In Law apt and I can smell the stuff in my house, lol.)
I am trying to impress upon my teenagers how important sunscreen is. It's hard trying to get them to remember to put it on.
A few of my coworkers have told me they've been "yelled at" when they went to have facials for sun damage.

I've never actually had a facial but I was thinking about going with DD. Now I'm kind of nervous about it, lol. No doubt I can handle it, though, and really, I wouldn't mind a technician pointing out my sun damage to my DD in the hopes that she can help avoid it if she cares for her skin in the sun properly.
BTW, I said "mineral oil" earlier (about baking in the sun growing up), but it should have been "baby oil".
