Watching reports how airports are slammed with people and highways jammed with cars for the holiday weekend. I say "No thanks, there's no place I'd rather be than right here in my home." Traveling is fun, but there's an element of hassle involved even in the best of circumstances. I take extra time to be grateful for the comfort of my own home in times like these. If I'm honest, I might even gloat a little.

If you are traveling, stay safe and I hope you get to your destination....and back!

Very happy! I've only ever traveled once for Thanksgiving and it involved a car and an 8 hour road trip that turned into 10 hours. Never again.

We've done a couple Thanksgiving cruises and we used to do WDW trips the week of Thanksgiving (coming home the day before), but I'm good with relaxing at home this year. And since my college aged son just got home, it's even better. :)

I plan ahead so I don't have to go into town again until well into next week. I'll be staying home other than going to the shelter but there's no crowds or traffic involved in that.

I’m happy to be staying home but I do have my sister and BIL coming this evening and staying through Friday evening. They live a couple of hours away, so hopefully they won’t have too much trouble getting here.

We are home as well, but have family traveling in (by car) today & tomorrow so fingers crossed they have a smooth trip.

My husband just got back from Vegas last night (well really early this morning about 1:30 or so am) he was there Monday and Tuesday for work and of course the flight was expensive having been bought like Thursday or Friday. He said our home airport was quiet on his mid-day flight on Monday though.

He did say that the flight was delayed a little bit and then again with SWA holding off on starting the boarding process until some connecting passengers could make their way there. It's often enough that you'll land in Terminal B and be flying out of Terminal C (or vice versa) and it's a hike to get between the two. They were doing it also for the flight next to his gate. I assume that this week they are trying to be extra careful to get people on through.

Sister-in-law's boyfriend's family is driving from Chicago today down to here (about 8 hour drive) but I'm not sure how long they will stay.

We drive from Buffalo to Baltimore every Thanksgiving, it takes about 6 hours, doesn't bother me at all. Lately we have been leaving early Thanksgiving morning to get there, not much traffic.

I'm certainly glad to not be traveling at this time of the year. Marie and I will be driving to Vince's tomorrow, about an hour away. Just Marie and me, the kids and grandkids. And then an hour home.

Wishing you a very Happy, well-deserved Thanksgiving, Ron, for you, Kitty, the twins and grandkids.

We are going to Disney Vero Beach Resort in about 2 hours until Friday and then driving home. I'm glad we have an easy drive (1.5 hours) and aren't flying anywhere!!
