I wanted to know so I could have a heads up... I'm going in 5 days ( :yay: ) and I was wondering which rides get you wet and HOW wet!

Thanks!
Jaime :thumbsup2

On Splash Mountain you can get splashed, but not soaked.

In AK, on Kali River Rapids, I got completely soaked...they have a sign up that says :You will get wet, you may get soaked." And they're right. It's just the luck of the draw as to who in the boat will get soaked, though.

I can't remember any at EPCOT you get wet on, and I haven't been to MGM in a long time. I think it's just those two.

Splash Mountain but it depends on where you sit and how the water splashes onto the sides. Kali River Rapids you can get soaked! but again, it depends on where you sit. Since the boats for kali are circular, it depends on who goes down first on the drop. It also depends where you sit for when you go through the rapids.

You get a little spray on most, if not all, the 3D shows. Stitch and Jungle Cruise too. We got small splashes on PoC and Maelstrom too. None of these are enough to bother you but you DO get wet! :teeth:
We always joke in our family that it's not a Disney ride if you don't get wet!

Those two are the only real wet rides in the theme parks. (Though there are plenty of attractions and decorations that can get you a little bit wet.) The only one to worry about is Kali. I personally don't go on it without wearing a poncho, as I just can't afford to walk around soaking wet all day. Splash does a great job of adjusting to the weather. When it's cold out you generally get less wet, but even on warm days you'll just get pleasantly wet. Have a wonderful (and not too wet) time! :thumbsup2

i bought my dh and i three ponchos each, the easy throw away kind... so I guess i'll have just enough! I plan on wearing them at least for the AK ride...

thanks guys!

Jaime :thumbsup2

We all got real wet one night on splash as soon as e-nite started. We were in the front 2 seats, we always try to ride in the front and had never gotten that wet before.

We also got soaked/drenched on big thunder mountain railroad (see my tag) While we were riding the sky opened up and it poured...we also had to wait in the rain while they were unloading the other trains. We looked like we had taken a shower with our clothes on. :teeth:

Nobody mentioned the Backlot Tour with "Catastrophe Canyon".

If you get "picked" to star in the "Pearl Harbor" film production demo, they provide you with full, heavy RAIN WEAR (and you'll need it).
(But only a very FEW people in the crowd get "picked" by the WDW staff.)

During the actual back-lot TOUR the host tells you,
"If you sit on the RIGHT side of the tram, you may get wet, but that's OK because folks on the LEFT side may get soaked!"

But in reality, guests on the tram do NOT actually get very WET at all (misted and dripped-on mostly), but there is a TREMENDOUS amount of water (1000's of gallons) in the spectacular effect.

Did you actually get very wet on Kali? I never have, unlike at IOA on Popeye's Barges, you get SOAKED on that one.
PB is a great ride.

A lot of rides can get you soaked, it just depends on how hard it's raining when you go on them.

PB is a great ride.

It is absolutely a matter of LUCK.

We rode around one trip. No problem. Splashed. Sprayed. Cute.
CM asked if we wanted to go again?
We did. Same "raft".

I rode KRR twice. On the first ride, I got completely soaked. It looked like I was thrown into the river. All of my clothes were soaked and my hair was dripping. On the second ride, I got a couple of splashes and that was all. It must be luck of the draw with the way the raft moves in the water and how the weight is distributed in the raft.

We rode Splash a few times and got just a little wet.

I wore Tevas and was glad I didn't have shoes with socks on KRR.

On Splash, you will most likely get the most wet in the first two rows, right side. the right side because after the drop, there is a waterfall on the right. Also, for Epcot you may get a bit wet on the Maelstrom in Norway. As for MGM, the Backlot Tour you have a small chance of getting wet of you are selected for the demonstration and I think maybe if you stand near the front. Also in MGM, during Fantasmic the rows in the front do get a bit wet!!! And of course, Kali River Rapids in AK is always quite refreshing!!!!! There is also a fountian near Kali River Rapids thats great for cooling off if you need it.

Um, on the circular river raft rides, the heaviest "side" of the raft generally gets the wettest. This side goes down the flume first (gravity).

The secret to Kali is to wear a swimsuit under your clothes that day (or something similar - like board shorts). It might also be worthwhle to bring flip flops, just for this ride, if you also have a stroller to put them in. Or wear Crocs that day. They won't let you on shoeless, and they tell you expressly not to store your shoes in the bin.

I think I'll wear my crocs to animal kingdom that day! Just take my socks off during that ride.. I plan on wearing a poncho, do you think it wil save me? :umbrella: and I hope it's not too :cold:

Jaime ( :yay: only 5 more days!)

The first time I rode Splash, my pants got wet, and mom, even a bigger chicken than I am, says :scared1: "You peed your pants?!?!?!" :rotfl: :lmao:

Well i've never gotten wet on Splash Mountain, only a little damp from the seat, but I have been EXTREMELY soaked on Kali River Rapids! lol It was fun, though I wish we had ponchos! ;D

I have been on the Backlot Tour at least a dozen times. We have always laughed when the CM says that the people on the LEFT will get soaked. We have gotten misted and dripped-on mostly until this past February 20 when I got absolutely soaked, so much so that I had to go back to the resort to wring out my clothes and change. We were seated in the middle of the tram. I was 3 seats away from the left side. When the water came down it hit my face with such a force that my glasses came off. The people in the row behind us got just as drenched. When I was getting off the tram a CM came by and said, "Oh, my" When I explained that I had not been on the extreme left side she said, "Well we do warn you in advance, I'm sorry you got wet, we'll have to dry these rows out before the next group can go on." There was no way that I could stay in the park, my left side was wet to the skin, and my hair was soaked. They did not do the pre-show before we got on the tram because they deemed it too cold to get wet that day. And believe me, it was.
