Which rides can 2 parents + toddler fit on?

I'm thinking the one's with cars or smaller units such as:

Dumbo
Astroblasters
Mr. Toad's wild ride
Peter Pan
Roger Rabbit Cartoon Spin
Winnie the Pooh
Buzz Lightyear

Our son is 2 1/2. (tall and thin)

Will we all be able to fit? Or which ones should we plan on only 1 parent riding? Or riding solo?

Many rides are actually two rows, so your family would easily fit in one vehicle. Depending on the ride, either the front or back row are larger and a parent/child can take that row. The other parent can sit by themselves, no problems.

Our DS is 5 (but small for his age) and he fits with DH and I on most of the rides you listed. We just do 2 of us in a car on Buzz because there are only 2 guns on each car but I'm not sure if you can ride 3 if one of you doesn't want to play. I know you can do that on Toy Story. The only other one I can think of that we can't fit all 3 of us is Autopia.

Oh and I just thought of heimlich's chew chew train at DCA. That one only fits 2 in a seat but the other parent is right there either in front or behind. The tuck and roll bumper cars also only fit 2 people.

Dumbo has gotten me in some strange places with baby cousins/pre-teen cousins. I would say plan on one parent for Dumbo for sure, and the other parent in his/her own Dumbo. The same for Astroblasters.

Mr. Toad may be a little squishy but I think it's do-able. Same with Peter Pan. I don't remember what Roger Rabbit was like, but Pooh is two rows, so one parent with your son in front (or in back), whichever he prefers, and the other parent in the free row.

Buzz Lightyear is a different story. It depends on how many of you are avid shooters, if all three of you want a laser gun, then two in one cart and one in the next, but if one of you doesn't mind giving up a round, then 3 in a cart is fine :)

Hope you guys have a great time! :goodvibes

Autopia (as long as he's not in your lap)

Alice in Wonderland

Yes, Dumbo is a one parent thing. Heimlich you can sit 3 to a car as long as the child is on a lap. Flik's Flyers can seat all of you as long as Frances ladybug boogie. Casey Jr. can sit all of you, and Its a Small World also. Don't forget the Storybook Canal and Alice as well. My DD4 also enjoys the Golden Zephyr ride in DCA. It will sit all 3 of you as well! :goodvibes

Actually I went on Golden Zephyr in February and they would on let 2 people in a row. My sister had her baby in a carrier and they wouldn't let her daughter sit next to her. My nieces were freaked to have to sit alone (they're 5 and 6).

If he's tall enough to meet the height restriction (and brave enough) all three of you should fit in one seat on Big Thunder as well. :thumbsup2

We always sit 3 in Dumbo so I'm not sure why others are saying no. I guess it depends on how big the 3 people are but we're 2 average sized adults (a little on the smaller side but still quite average - not tiny) and we've never had a problem. We also always do Pooh with all 3 of us in the same row.

Big Thunder can also sit 3 as long as one is fairly small. We finally stopped having DD11 sit between us about 2-3 years ago. She was get squashed! :crowded: (she's petite)

Golden Zephyr is definitely only 2. No lap sitting. Each rider must sit on their own with the seatbelt. But one parent can defintely ride in front of the other parent with kid. :goodvibes We take my DNephew2.5 on this and he is fine sitting on the inside, away from the opening. Just keep on eye on them.

Did anyone say Snow White yet? It's a two-row car, so even if two parents plus toddler can't fit in the first row, maybe one parent and toddler can sit in first row and second parent sit in the second row?

I've done three people in one seat for BTMRR--40" height requirement (two adults with a 5 year-old in the middle). The 5 year-old was scared on SM but loved BTMRR! If the toddler is tall enough for BTMRR, then add Star Tours to your list!

Storybook, Casey (I guess do Storybook or Casey), Alice, POTC and HM have already been mentioned. What about IASW? Jungle Cruise? Nemo? I'm not sure about Pinocchio.

I'm sorry, I forgot to add Mad Tea Party.

What about the low-priority slow rides: Mark Twain's Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia? Perhaps around nap time? Or if you have a lot of days or a relaxed schedule? The ride is about 15 minutes each, the Disney site says.

Although not considered a ride, we all loved Disneyland Railroad from Tomorrowland to New Orleans Square. It saved our feet. It's a long walk otherwise, fighting the traffic from Tomorrowland to Main Street through narrow Frontierland and even tighter New Orleans Square. And on the train, you get to see bonus dioramas (Grand Canyon and Primeval Era!). You can take your stroller on board (collapsible).

And you can also take the monorail if you are heading to Downtown Disney or one of the Disneyland hotels. You can take your stroller (collapsible).

We plan on going on more rides-I just was curious about which rides we'll be able to 'experience' together. Ie. if we are in 2 different dumbos, its not quite the same, becuase the parent who is not riding with DS can't see his face, etc. In those circumstances, we may want to stand in line separately so we both sit with DS. The ones I listed were the 'questionable' ones. It's been quite a long time since I've done Disney (ie. over 20 years!) that I forget.

He's 36 inches, so we may try Gadget's Go coaster but BTMRR is out. He's only ridden a carrousel so far (not at Disney), so we'll have to see what he's up for.

Ok--thanks for the clarification! I was about to suggest Go Coaster, but looking on Disneyland's website, it looked like it only fit two people in one row/car. Does anyone here know?

HM might be closed for the Holiday 2011 update or working depending on your trip date.

I found some information on ride units and how many people they seat. A lot of this might have been covered on this thread, but check it out: http://www.disneymouselinks.com/Ride-Vehicle-Information.aspx

That is if both parents feel the need to ride Dumbo. Myself, I'd either be on it with the kid, or taking pictures from the outside (or, as the Unofficial Guide recommended for WDW, waiting further back in line so that the kid could be passed over and ride again - hmm, or possibly getting FPs for something, but this little one will be too short for all those FP rides).

I'm curious about this as well. My girls and I loafed around Toontown for quite a while waiting for DH to arrive to ride GGC with us (which was a big concession from him anyway - he gets motion sick easily). It would be good to know if we could just ride w/o him.

Oh-that's a great site-thanks!

DH has already said he'd let me ride Dumbo. My ILs told me the story that when he went to Disneyworld when he was little he was so excited that he got his head stuck in some fence, so I think he was thoroughly traumatized. I think I'll leave him with photo taking.
