Where exactly is Castaway Cay?

If you look at a map of the Bahamas, where would you find Castaway Cay? Does anyone have a link to a good map of the Bahamas? Would like to print one out and take along. Thanks.

First, look for The Abacos on the following map of The Bahamas:

The map above has an inset map that shows where The Bahamas are in relationship to Florida and Cuba.

Now look for Gorda Cay on the following map of the Abacos:

Castaway Cay is Disney's name for Gorda Cay.

I think it is really called Gordo Cay. I think if you just search on Bahamas map on your web search engines you will find some stuff.

Believe it or not, Gordo Cay shows up in the latest version of Microsoft Streets & Trips 2002. If you zoom in on the area of ocean 170 miles due east of Fort Lauderdale, Gorda Cay magically appears a little bit south of Mores Island.

Castaway Cay (née Gorda Cay) is located at 26.08° N, 77.52° W or about 7 miles west of Sand Point (which is near the southern tip of Great Abaco).

Is Castaway Cay part of the USVI ? If not can you call a 800 number from a payphone to call the states ? I was wondering because I have a prepaid calling card I would Like to use when I am there.

I have never seen a pay phone on the island - it has a post office which is run by the Bahama's, but the rest of the island is ran by Disney.

Castaway Cay is 964 miles northwest of the USVI. Castaway Cay (née Gorda Cay) is one of the 700 islands of The Bahamas. There are no public phones at Castaway Cay.

As noted earlier in this thread, Gorda/Castaway Cay is part of The Bahamas.

In the first map that Tony posted, Abaco is in the upper-left corner. Now refer to the second map... the lower end of Abaco is at the top of the map. Castaway Cay is just <b><i>north</i></b> of Sandy Point.

Also, for what it's worth... Castaway Cay is at the same latitude as Sunrise Blvd in Fort Lauderdale.
