We are moving into a new house and I've had it with our cheap "bed in a bag" comforter. I have been looking at decorating ideas online, and I just want a white duvet cover or blanket/comforter with matching pillow cases. I think that we're going to paint at least one wall in our master bedroom some shade of blue, and use blue for accents (pillows, accessories). Where can I find a soft, wonderful quality duvet cover that will last?

JC Penney? I don't have a duvet but I bought a new bed last year after I moved home from college (upgraded from a twin to a queen) and got all my bedding from Penneys (it was the only place I could find a comforter with the colors I wanted) and I'm pretty happy with it. I did end up giving one set of sheets to my parents as they weren't really deep enough for my bed, but they are decent sheets and haven't fallen apart or anything.

Do you have a BJs or Cosco near you? I just got THE most amazing microfiber sheets from BJs. Two complete sets of queen sheets for around $35. They are SO soft - somewhere between flannel and Egyptian cotton, but I live in a very warm climate and they're not too hot at all. Love them!

Try Bed, Bath & Beyond. They always have tons of bedding.

We have tried the expensive bedding and have found it lasts no longer than the bed in a bag stuff. That being said, you can look for seconds stores near you. They will usually have the name brand stuff with torn packaging or missing it completely, but will be the high end stuff for less. You can also try TJ Max, Ross Dress for Less or Marshalls.

Kohls, when it is on sale and you have another coupon to use as well. Have gotten some nice stuff there.

I found this duvet cover at Goodwill for $4, it was an open box donation from Target. A lot of new merchandise from Target has been showing up at Goodwills all over. It's probably cheaper to get a tax write off than to mark down merchandise.

I also bought the lightest comforter for $25 from Target because of how warm it is, and plan to get a heavier one for the winter. I will say, getting it in there for the first time was a huge PITA. It looks pretty, but I wasn't expecting it to be that difficult.

I also have the Target organic sheet set and my aunt has the Fieldcrest damask sheets. The organic feels a bit softer like a jersey sheet set.

Ikea also carries duvets and comforters, and I've heard a lot of good reviews about them.

Do you have a "Tuesday Morning" near you? It's hit or miss, but they have some high end bedding--I bought high thread count sheets there that are lovely to sleep on.

My last comforter came from JCPennys on sale. Overstock is also a good place to look. My prior bedding was from Kohls.

I've yet to find a bed in the bag set that feels good to the touch. I've had to buy pieces separately.

Ikea has really nice duvets and they have a large variety (summer/winter, down/synthetic).

Some of the duvet covers are a bit bold but they have plainer ones as well.

There pillows are pretty nice as well.

Not exactly cheap, but the stuff is quality. I love the duvets and duvet covers (that's all I have ever ordered from there). They have 25% and 30% sales often or Google for coupon codes. Plus there is usually a clearance section.

Another vote for IKEA bedding! Huge variety of duvets, covers, pillows, cases.

I second both Tuesday Morning and Overstock.com

I've bought great bedding from both of those places. High quality/low prices.

amazon!!! I bought the cheapest one on there for my moms birthday and she loves it, had stood up great and were a house with 6 cats. Its also been washed around 6 times and looks just as great as new!

I've bought my last two bedspreads from Target both in the past 2 years and they've held up really well. I have 2 because I have one for late spring/summer and the other bedspread when it start getting colder in October and lasts me til April/May depending on how warm the weather starts turning.

Also if you have a Burlington Coat Factory near you they have pretty reasonable priced bedding.
