I figured I'd ask here since there's a lot of Ebay sellers... Any idea where I can find those plastic shipping bags? They're pretty durable, usually white/grey colored. I've often gotten stuff from Children's Place or Disney, I think. I know I've gotten them several times before from various retailers. But I can't seem to find them!! I don't ship stuff that often, but I have been doing it enough that those seem as though they'd be more cost effective. Thanks for any help!

I buy mine on Ebay...they usually have combo packs with different sizes...they work so great for clothing and even some shoes! Just do a search for poly mailers!

you can also get them free from USPS.com as well as many other shipping boxes...they will even deliver them to your door free:thumbsup2

Just to clarify the shipping supplies you get from USPS are for priority shipping. They can NOT be used to ship parcel post.

in most cases priority is only a few cents more than parcel post once you get over a pound...so the money you save n supplies by getting them free is worth the few extra cents to mail it...also you can schedle them to pick up your packages without going to the post office and stand in line...

I didn't see the poly bags on their site... I did find them on Ebay though. And just for a few bucks, not too much at all. I'm tired of spending several bucks on those bubble mailers, and they don't hold as much. Hopefully these will work better.

Just do an ebay search for Tyvek mailers or Tyvek envelopes.

Keep in mind if you are shipping something less than 13 ounces it will cost FAR LESS to ship first class....than priority! I shipped an outfit (baby) for less than $2.00 in a poly bag first class....it would have cost me over $4.00 to ship priority. Just a little shipping tip....ship First class in a ploy bag if under 13 ounces! Ship Priority in a USPS tyvex bag if over 13 ounces! priovided you item fits in the bag! Also I have noticed theUSPS Priority boxes weigh more than other boxes of the same size!

I use ebay. I purchase from seller zarfetie. Never had a problem & I think I get good deals from his sizes and prices. I have no financial affiliation with him what so ever. I'm just posting that I've had good buying experiences with him.

the boxes and bags from USPS can be used for parcel post if you turn them inside out..takes a little more effort than just pulling the sticky strip and closing the package, but saves you a few bucks...

That is actually illegal, which is why on the new supples, they have "Priority Mail" printed on the inside as well. People who abuse the FREE supplies in this way make it hard on everyone else when the rates go up or they stop supplying these mailing supplies for free.

Besides, from the USPS site:
Note: Any matter mailed in USPS-provided Express Mail / Priority Mail packaging is charged the appropriate Express Mail / Priority Mail price, regardless of how the packaging is reconfigured (turned inside out) or how the markings are obliterated.

I wonder how strictly this is enforced because I have been selling stuff on ebay and shipping like this for over 2 years now and have never had a problem and never been told any such thing. I am not saying it is not illegal but I have just never heard of it till now..I guess I will have to get different boxes...:goodvibes

I've heard of it for several years. It is like stealing boxes from the PO. Those boxes are meant for priority mail only. One of the guys at my PO once told me that there is a large fine (around $200) if you are caught. He said the same thing about mailing things media mail that are not part of the media mail category.
