What would be the next shoe size up from a boys size 6?

Would it be a mens size 7, mens 6? I know it SHOULD seem logical, but I also know that with girls sizes, it doesn't work that way.

Men's size 7. Good luck finding them though! Thank goodness my kids feet are bigger now because it was difficult to find shoes they liked in that size.

I am having issues with this too. My son is just out of a boy's 6 but the men's shoes are too wide.

I have had luck in some brands in finding a boy's size 7. After that, I try to find Men's size 7's.

Yes, now you have to start paying about $30 more for the same shoe that was made exactly like kids size shoes.

Men's start in size 7, childs ends in 6 or 6 1/2.

I had a hard time finding shoes for DS also.

#6 was too small, #7 way too big, and I couldn't find any 1/2 sizes

A lot of times, I've had to buy my son shoes in the woman's department. He has a thin foot but long!! Anyway, I look for the "manliest" shoe I can find in the women's department. They seem to fit him much better at this point.

I had trouble with that transition also. My 7 year old DS now wears a size 8 in mens and it's much easier to find things in his size. (Although I can't get over the fact that my 7 year olds shoes are big on me  ) I could very rarely find anything in a size 7. We actually had luck at Kids Footlocker. In some brands like Nike, they went up to a size 7 (the regular Footlocker stores didn't seem to have 7's in stock very often...)

Same problem here with DS10. His tennis shoes are ok because we can get them in the womans department but dress shoes are a nightmare. We found some size 7AA's at Nordstrom for him but they were almost $100 :earseek: . We did find some at a shoe warehouse store but they were still $50. He said his tennis shoes are feeling small so hopefully he moved up to size 8 in mens and that will help some, but his feet are STILL so skinny. DD10 wears an 8 in womens which is good because I was able to give her all my old shoes that I out grew a couple years ago when I went from an 8 to a 9 for what ever reason.

I am having the same problem.I had good luck finding size 7 in Nike but they are getting too small.Size 8 mens are too big. :confused3

I knew my kids had small feet, but this thread just proves it. My DS who's 12 finally is up to a 7 1/2 mens, but he was still in a 4 1/2 boys last Christmas.

My soon to be ex wore a 7E. So if you all think it's hard finding kids shoes in that size, try it when they won't OUTGROW the size!

If you really need shoes in that size range, B.A. Mason carries them (a catalog company, but you can buy on-line). But they are pricey.

Try Famous Footwear. My son JUST went into an 8 after an excruciating year of 6.6-7.5 So glad he's finally an 8 and we can find shoes anywhere again!!! Snow boots are really expensive for men that size so we bought womens black boots and they were great at $28 rather than $60 for mens.

I remember that size - and I'm almost there again with my youngest. I found it very hard to even find shoes in the 6-7 range, much less talk my son into wearing what we found! We finally found shoes at JC Penny's. Fortunately he passed through those sizes quickly. My father wears a size 6.5 and usually has to special order his shoes.

Another frustrating shoe thing, when DD needed size 5 shoes they were no where to be found, the girl sizes stopped at 4 1/2 and the women's started at 6. THAT was very frustrating and dd had to wear really thick socks for about 6 months until her feet grew again.

Yep, we're having this same issue at our house. Findings mens 7 is next to impossible too!!!!!!!!!! I found a boys 6.5 in New Balance at SportMart, but that's the only one I've ever found. Now winter boots, don't get me started, can't find anything to fit him.

My husband's feet are narrow, and my 23 year old daughter wears a size 4 narrow.

Nordstom is the only place either of them can find shoes. I'm sure glad we live near a Nordstrom Rack. Nordstrom carries a good variety of small and large size shoes. They actually do carry a fair amount of moderately priced shoes. New Balance is the only company I know of that makes narrow sized men's tennis shoes.
