My DH RSVP'd to a jewelry party and mentioned to the host I was interested in diamond stud earrings. Which, I am interested in, however it isn't really in the budget right now. I don't really wear much jewelry so I have no idea how much these will cost. I know prices will vary, but for a small stud earring will it be $100, $200? I don't want to have too much sticker shock.

I would guesstimate that a quality pair of diamond studs would start at about $200. Of course it depends on the carats, color and clarity of the diamonds. I've never been to any kind of jewelry party where they sell fine jewelry though... :confused3

I know its kind of weird, its a friends father who owns a jewelry store in the city and he comes and sells to family & friends. Thanks for your response, we purchased our wedding bands from him years ago and found his prices "reasonable" so Im glad to have all ballpark amount.

The retail price would be anywhere from abotu $200 on up to tens of thousands of dollars. Lots of "normal" studs that you see "normal" people wearing that are not super tiny and that are a good color are probably at least $500 - $2000.

I agree with "Bethy"

I had diamond studs and they totaled 1 carat so .50 each, white gold, princess cut, good clarity, and they were $899!

It really depends on the size and quality. Mine were over $1,000 it was DH last year anniversary present. They are .25 of a carat each.

I had smaller ones because they were for my second ear holes and they were 400.00. I am picky about color though and clarity and it added because I wanted screw backings instead of push on...there is a whole lot of variability now that I think of it. Good luck and happy shopping!!

Mine were 1200.00 and they are 1 carat round studs.I have had them for years but almost never wear them...I am trying to wear them more now so they are not such a waste!I am always afraid of one falling out.

Mine are the same size and were $800 - but are now ten years old and gold has really gone up.

.25 is a pretty small diamond in the ears. For $100-$200 you are really looking at something in the diamond chip line with enough setting around it to make it look like something.

I would like to recommend QVC Diamonique earrings. I wear french wire 14k gold diamonique earrings all of the time and even can sleep in them. They look real & if you lose one, you are not out the expense & heartache. Thi sis nice when one goes from work-gym-childcare clothing changes and roles. Personally I select a carat size that is realistic with my lifestyle so they could be real if I chose to spend my money on earrings!

Best of luck shopping!

I have a pair that are less than .25 carat each, in a white gold setting. They're small, if you're looking for bling, this isn't the place, but they are just right in my ears (and haven't come out since I got them last Christmas) and they were about $120 on sale.

But I didn't want 1 carat studs in my ears, just something tiny to wear every day.
