What’s for Dinner Tonight?

Stopped at a grocery store and got sushi for DH and me Real Good General Tso's chicken

Tonight is breakfast for dinner. DH is making a breakfast sandwich for himself (bacon, hash brown, cheese, and a little egg on a bagel). I'm having a scrambled egg, sausage, and maybe toast.

Embarrassed to say: Frozen Jalapeno White Castles for both me and DH.
DH was thrilled. He grew up on real White Castles and even loves frozen in a pinch.

Spiedie with tomatoes hero and green salad for son, spiedie on top of salad for me. He bought vanilla ice cream so is attacking the fruit cobbler before dinner. His mother should have taught him some manners!

So weird you said Spiedie. Last night my daughter was at her friends for dinner. They had Speidie chicken sandwiches and was raving about the dinner. We all live in the Midwest and never heard that term before. Even my autocorrect keeps trying to change the word!! oh but

We spent most of the day cleaning and decluttering to get ready to start some remodeling. On the plus side I donated 3 car full of stuff (we have one more I’ll bring tomorrow), organized our electronics to be recycled, and put a ton of bulky stuff on the curb with a free sign (it’s all gone!). So we ended up grabbing a late lunch. We split some fried cheese curds and I had a capris sandwich with pesto, it was delicious! We just had an ear of corn for a snack.

Went to the dine-in theater tonight. Buttered popcorn to share. Chicken tenders for me. Impossible burger for DH and Chicken Caesar wrap for DS. He graced us with his presence on a Saturday night which made our jaws drop.

Marinated london broil and oven roasted potatoes on the menu for tonight.

DH can pick when we get home. He has a very sore throat, so we'll see

I’m grilling tonight. Ribeye for DH, chicken for me with corn from the farm stand, and roasted fingerling potatoes because that was todays harvest.

Mixed up 2 small meatloaves. One will go in the freezer for another meal. Baked potato and roasted broccoli with it for tonight.

I was away for two days visiting my sister at her youngest's house and helping with the dog, and I am exhausted from not sleeping in my own bed. I'm probably going to just make tuna melts under the broiler.

This is going to be clean out the fridge night. We'll be choosing from BBQ chicken, stuffed peppers, chicken wings, sausage, Caprese salad & corn. I may decide to add another veggie. Anything left will have to be frozen or tossed.

Tonight was pizza and salad because it was a long weekend. DD and I drove to the Boston area (4 hours) on Friday night as she was having her hair done and buying her new dance shoes on Saturday. Last night's dinner was amazing; we had tapas at Matadora, a restaurant in the Hilton Boston/Woburn. Lots of small plates and sangria, and it was all delicious! (Look up the menu online... can't wait to go again!) Today on the way home, we stopped at Aldi in Portsmouth, NH so DD could pick up all kinds of dry goods to stock the pantry in the kitchen of her new house! Anyhow, that made it a 5.5 hour drive home. Once we got the car unloaded and everything put away, I just didn't have it in me to cook supper!

Well, we ended up with Taco Bell. We had free delivery, so a good time to do it.
DH had Cheesy Bean burrito and had a Cantina Chicken Bowl.

We went to a food and wine event and sampled way too much of everything. My favorite tidbits of the evening were Chicken Bao Buns with a spicy Thai curry sauce and chocolate cheesecake mousse cups.

Tonight I'm off from cooking-my aunt is making my late uncle's spaghetti sauce. Nobody else can make it like she does, so I'm happy to turn over the pots and pans to her for the day. We'll have meatballs and Italian sweet sausage with it, and probably tonight cheese ravioli.
