Weird bit of info i had never heard before...

I had never heard before that Walt Disney used to own the house at 3301 Waverly Drive, the same house that Labianca murders took place in, the 2nd set of Manson murders. I dont think they give that bit of info out on the backstage tour !! not that i blame them.

Another kind of creepy thing, the same weekend the murders were taking place is the same weekend the Haunted Mansion opened. a little weird !!
Not that one has anything to do with the other, it was just something i came across and had never heard before. Now back to your Regular Scheduled Programing....

It seems like I did hear that before. Also, I remember mention of a connection with Manson and Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys.

Without even checking Snopes, The Haunted Mansion did not open the same weekend as the murders, maybe close though. Buckalew is correct about Manson and a Beach Boys connection. Charlie wanted to be in the music biz at one point.

Dennis Wilson, of the Beach Boys, was driving through Malibu when he noticed two female hitchhikers. He picked them up and dropped them off where they wanted go. Later on, Dennis noticed the same two girls hitchhiking

again. He took them to his home, and then went to a recording session. When he returned at around three o'clock in the morning, he was met in his by driveway Charles Manson. When he walked into his home, there were about a dozen there, mostly females. Before long, Dennis became fascinated with Manson, his followers, and the "Family." They lived with him for a short time.

Dennis was very impressed by Manson's talent, and soon he introduced him to a few friends in the music business, including Terry Melcher, Doris Day's son. During that time, Manson would visit Melcher at 10050 Cielo Drive, the home Melcher shared with his girlfriend, Candice Bergen. Manson eventually auditioned for Melcher, but Melcher declined to sign him. There was still talk of a documentary being made about Manson's music, but Melcher abandoned the project after witnessing Manson in a terrifying fight with a drunken stuntman at Spahn Ranch.

Dennis noticed Manson's volatile nature and growing tendency to violence and the friendship by moving out of the house. Manson was not happy that Dennis had moved out. After finding out were Dennis had moved to, Manson left a bullet with Dennis' housekeeper to be delivered with a cryptic message. For years Dennis did not speak a word about Mason or his Family.

Terry Melcher moved from his home and the house's owner, Rudi Altobelli, leased it to film director Roman Polanski and his wife, actress Sharon Tate. I think you know the rest of the story.

The Manson crew was living at Dennis Wilson's home for some time. It got so bad and Wilson could not get rid of them, that he finally moved out until they finally left.

Terry Melcher, a record producer at the time who was introduced to Charles Manson by Dennis Wilson and was at first interested in his music and wanted to do a documentary type thing on him and the family.



Charles Manson has been to Terry Melcher's house: the one that Sharon and Roman Polanski had rented after Terry left.

He did own a house that the LaBianca's bought, but not the one on Waverly Dr., it was an earlier house that they sold when they moved to the one on Waverly. (According to Wikipedia anyway...yeah I know, I know)
