I have to queen/king size (extra long) bed pillows I want to wash in a front loading washing machine. I'm worried about having an unbalanced load. :upsidedow I've had that happen before with this washer & the items just sat in the bottom, full of water. I ended up wring out the stuff and washing again. :headache:

Do I wash the pillows separately? Would having only one pillow cause an unbalanced load as it would be one heavy lump turning around? :scratchin

Or do I wash them both together? Will the two pillows together just create one REALLY HEAVY soppy load, that unbalances the load? :scratchin

Or will the two pillows flopping around balance out the load? :scratchin

Can anyone share their with experiences washing bed pillows, please?

I have washed pillows in my front loading machine before. I would definately put them in two at a time. Washing one at a time could create a problem. If it becomes unbalanced, put a towels or two in and try running it again. You should not have a problems, I have done this many times.

I tried washing our pillows in the front loader and the washer never was able to spin; the weight of the wet pillows prevented it from being able to spin. I had to throw the pillows out and buy new ones. I bought washable pillow covers (not pillow cases!) instead so now they get washed instead of the pillow itself

Ditto!! :laundy:

You can WASH PILLOWS?

Does it fluff them up? How do you do this in a top loader?

I ended up washing the pillows separately. Both of them didn't fir together. They were so long that I had to bend & curve them to fit in the washer. Then they unfolded & kind of got stuck to one side and wouldn't move around. So I put in towels on the other side to balance them. And I figured they'd get some agitation on the side that curved in.

They took about 45 minutes in the dryer. They are really nice and fluffy now! :cloud9:

Meg, for a top loader, make sure the pillows are opposite from each other in the wash. Maybe stick a couple towels in between each side so the the pillows don't slide to one side and off balance the machine while it's spinning.
