Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

Was looking at a relatively short notice trip in early May. The night of Sunday, May 4 has not been available at any of the 3 resorts for weeks now. I guess I didn’t realize that Star Wars day might be a big enough draw to make reservations unavailable? Is there something else going on that weekend that I missed? Obviously not much of a Star Wars junkie if I didn’t give it much thought…lol! :-)

It is not for Starwars day at HS related in this case.

Yes the Gartner Supply Chain Symposium/Xpo™ 2025 is May 4th - 7th based at the Swan but attendees are at all 3 resorts.

Well that makes more sense…thank you!!

A buddy of mine is booking Dolphin in May and he was asking me about it. I am DVC and have only stayed at Swan or Dolphin on our arriving nights, although we really liked them.

Here's my question: He will get the benefits of a deluxe resort correct? LLs 7 days in advance, the early openings etc, correct?

Hello! We are looking at a quick 2 night stay March 23-25, however there is no availability at either the Swan or Dolphin on the night of March 24. There is plenty the 23rd, so I'm wondering if there is a big conference that starts on the 24th that anyone is aware of? We are just coming for Flower and Garden so we really don't want to stay elsewhere.

Yes there are a trio of Wall & Ceiling related Conventions from March 23 - 27 at the Swan & Dolphin. Keep checking as some rooms may be released in the next few days.
  • Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry Int’l. (AWCI)March 23-27, Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin
  • Ceiling & Interior Systems Construction Association (CISCA) Summit March 24-27, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin
  • BUILD24 (formerly known as INTEX Expo) March 26-27, Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin

I was trying to price rooms for the first or 2nd week in September for Swan but the calendar is only showing availability starting 9/17. Are there conferences the first couple weeks in Sept?

I can book Sept. 1 - 7 with no issues starting at $285 including the $50 resort fee (@elvispursley don't tell anyone). There are a couple of Sold out days: Sept. 8-9 & 15-16 that may be blocking your searches.

There is a Conferences later in the month of September: IAAO Annual Conference September 21, 2025 – September 24, 2025.

Thanks Dave! I think the sold out days are definitely blocking since we usually stay 8-9 nights. This was sooo helpful!!!😁

It sometimes helps to use the Flexible night search using 1 night, which you can also do by specific rate. This lets you see which specific days might be unavailable for a certain rate or sold out. Then if you need, you can string together separate reservations.

Sometimes--not always, but sometimes--you can find availability outside of the Marriott website for dates that the Marriott/Bonvoy website shows no availability. We have a stay coming up in early April and our arrival day showed up as unavailable on the Marriott site, but the Chase travel portal showed availability, so we booked the first night through Chase. You'll have multiple confirmation numbers and may not get some of the benefits of booking direct, but if the dates are fixed for you, this is an option you could look into.

We've had luck doing this a few times, as well. Sometimes, third party travel sites have rooms available even with Marriott is showing no availability.

Here is my text and their reply. Sad. Apparently the past week or so maybe.

Hello. Is Picsbu permanently closed? If so, when did that happen?

Good afternoon. Yes, Picabu is permanently closed in order for the space to be reimagined. We do not have any additional details on that just yet, but the project began some time shortly after the holiday season. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused!
As an update regarding the former Picabu space, we visited the resort this last weekend and it appears that they are converting it to an arcade/bowling alley. The sign suggested that it's going to be called "Lagoon." I suspect it will do very well.

Thanks for that update, NC. I would have preferred it remain a restaurant of some type. But, as you said, it should do well. Wonder what they will do with the existing game room.

I agree I would prefer to see another food outlet. I am surprised they would want to gut that entire kitchen to put this in. That has to come at a pretty high cost.

I didn't even think of that, but you're so right! I'm bummed to see the Crescent Lake area lose another dining option. I wish they would've put another restaurant in for sure!
