Completed 11/24 - BURN IT ALL (well not the Disneyland part) - a June 2024 TR for Paris and Disneyland Paris

Snacks! - Wednesday June 12, 2024 (part 2)

We were heading over to Disney Studios to ride Crush's Coaster! Crush's Coaster is such a fun, unique little ride, so off we went.

We had to take some pictures with the Star Wars posters underneath the train station:
IMG_1700.JPG
IMG_1702.JPG
Too bad Trevor's not wearing a Star Wars shirt!

As we walked over, it really hit me again just how pretty Disneyland Paris is:
IMG_1705.JPG
Like how gorgeous is that fountain and pathway and such? So pretty.

Unfortunately, Disney Studios at the moment is FULL of construction walls. Not super inviting!
IMG_1708.JPG
But we made it over to Crush's Coaster and hopped on. I really like the loading area, with the seagulls:

The ride was super fun, as always - I feel like sometimes we spin around a lot and sometimes not so much, but still fun. And one of the few "unique to DLP" rides. :)

Afterwards, we were kind of hungry, and so decided to look at the snacks in the area!
IMG_1714.JPG
Well, after getting distracted by this cute little Pixar wall. :)

There was a Buzz Lightyear corndog, so we got one of those:
IMG_1716.JPG
It was...not good. Still ice cold on the inside. :( Bummer - I love corn dogs too! Luckily, we kept walking into the park and ran into a bunch of food stands over by Remy - I don't remember why they were up, but we were grateful! First off I got chocolate covered strawberries:
IMG_1717.JPG
These were DELICIOUS. But then it's hard to not make chocolate covered strawberries good. Though to be fair I would have said that about corn dogs so...I guess there's always unexplored frontiers? :D

Trevor got a pretzel, which contrary to his picture, he was enjoying.
IMG_1721.JPG

And then I got a crepe with duck breast filet, emmental cheese, and rocket:
IMG_1719.JPG
IMG_1722.JPG
Delicious. :)

All three of these made up for the cold corn dog. :) Disneyland Paris is definitely not the destination for food (which yes, I've always found slightly odd considering Paris itself absolutely is a food destination...you'd think it'd carry over) but there are still some good things to be found.

Disney Studios - Wednesday June 12, 2024 (part 3)

The next thing we wanted to do that was on a particular schedule was the Pixar musical show, which was at like 1:20. So we had about 35 minutes, and Avengers Flight Force was posting 5 minutes, so that's where we went!
IMG_1733.JPG
This is basically Rockin RollerCoaster, but with an Avengers re-theme, in case you were wondering why Trevor was so eager to ride it. :)
IMG_1738.JPG
IMG_1739.JPG
They yelled at me for this picture but since they also told us the on-ride photo wasn't working, I figured this counted as a kind of substitute. :)

By the time we got off it was about 1 pm, so we decided to head over to the Pixar show and get in line - sometimes it apparently fills up really early. And there was definitely a good line, but they were still letting people in. But at 1:20, they canceled the show due to "technical difficulties". Womp womp.
IMG_1744.JPG
The picture I took as they were dumping us out of line. I do like that artwork style.

Well we were at a bit of loose ends - today we were trying to fit in all the shows that we wanted to see (so that if they got canceled or whathaveyou we had another day to try and see them), and the next show I wanted to see was the new Alice in Wonderland show at 2:40. Soooooo we decided to hop over to Web Slingers since the single rider line was posting 10 minutes.

Unfortunately right after we got in line single rider changed to 20 minutes, and then right when we were one person away from getting on, the ride went down.
IMG_1752.JPG
womp womp. :( Trevor was nervous 'cause he had to go to the bathroom real bad, but we waited it out for a bit. 10 min after it went down the soundtrack/sound effects came back on, which we thought was a good sign, but then 15 min after that, they dumped the queue. At least we got a fastpass? So that was nice.

And when we got dumped it was about 2:25, so we decided to go see the Alice show - we weren't having good luck but hopefully this one wouldn't be canceled! On our way we saw Dr Strange up by the quin jet.
IMG_1757.JPG
The Alice show was in a really big theatre/amphitheater thing so there were plenty of seats:
IMG_1759.JPG
I kind of like the graffiti art style.
IMG_1760.JPG
We got a pretty good seat slightly off to the right.
IMG_1761.JPG
Lots of ramps for the stunts!
IMG_1762.JPG
Center stage! Looking good!

Shows and Characters! - Wednesday June 12, 2024 (part 4)

And then it was time for the show! It was basically Alice and the Queen of Hearts each singing songs and then stunts being done with trampolines and BMX bikes, but it was fun.
IMG_1764.JPG
The White Rabbit and a few others ran up into the stands at the beginning.
IMG_1788.JPG
The Red Queen had an awesome vehicle thing.
IMG_1798.JPG
Fireworks but not? Colored smoke? Either way it was cool. :)

Trevor filmed the whole show:

It was neat! I'm glad we got to see it and it wasn't canceled.
IMG_1803.JPG
Drums!

After the show Trevor realized that he was missing his hat! He thought he'd left it over at Avengers Flight Force, so we were planning to head over there but as we exited the show, there was an Avengers show happening up on the roof! So Trevor stayed and watched that while I went over to the roller coaster.
PXL_20240612_131945770.MP.jpg

PXL_20240612_132740047.jpg
Over at Avengers, the gal up at the front called back and said they didn't have it, so I decided to try one last time and go to the exit of the ride and ask them there. And there I had better luck! The CM back there had it and brought it out super quickly. Phew! Would have been sad if we'd lost his hat.

It was about time for the next Pixar musical show, and we were only about 5 minutes before it starting so I wasn't sure if we'd get a spot, but we did! It was way off to the left, but not too horrible.
IMG_1806.JPG
The show was super cute! The orchestra breaks in half and rolls off to the sides of the stage and then there's a bunch of the Pixar characters looking for the sheet music for the performance and they're flying around and doing all sorts of stuff. It's really fun. The original song was just "meh" for me (it's no "Um Monde que S'Illumine") but the overall show was super cute. And we actually got to see it this time!

It was about 4:15 pm and we had a dinner reservation at 6pm, so the plan was to meet an Avenger at Hero Training Center and maybe ride Web Slingers before heading to our dinner. As we were heading to the Training Center, we ran into Loki and Thor out doing their show! Well, we actually saw the CMs and so ended up being right in the front for their show. :)
IMG_1810.JPG
See?

Pretty cool. :D

Inside Hero Training Center, we had a little bit of a wait so we messed around and took some pictures.
IMG_1820.JPG
Then we got called back and got to meet Loki! So that was cool. :)

We had a fun meet with him, though I don't have any notes on what we talked about. Oops! I was just excited to meet Loki - he's so cool. And then, time for WebSlingers with our fastpass!
PXL_20240612_145812250.jpg
I love seeing the spiderbots in the vents. :)

A Warm Welcome Back to Those of You Who Made It - Wednesday June 12, 2024 (part 5)

We got on Web Slingers pretty quickly, and with a focused goal to win!
IMG_1826.JPG
I realize it's basically Toy Story Midway Mania but I really like it - I wish we had it in Florida! For whatever reason I vibe with it more than Midway Mania. Our overall score this time wasn't amazing (600,400) but I did great - 279,600 for me, while Trevor got 139,800. Not too shabby!

As we exited, we saw Iron Man up on the Quinn jet.
IMG_1829.JPG
Kind of fun to see them up there - there not quite as high up as they are in Disneyland's Avengers Campus. :)

At this point, it was 5:15pm, and our dinner reservation was at 6, so we figured we should probably head to the hotel and see if they'd assigned us a room yet (we were supposed to get a text but nothing had arrived) and then do dinner. But as we headed out, Tower of Terror was posting a 5 minute wait, so of course we hopped in line.
IMG_1831.JPG
I love the details! The rest of this post is going to be a Tower of Terror appreciation post. :D
IMG_1832.JPG
IMG_1833.JPG
Little tea trolley!
IMG_1834.JPG
IMG_1837.JPG
Check in desk! I want to stay here. :)

They also have the same easter egg that they have at Disneyworld -
IMG_1838.JPG
Though it says "Come with Me" instead of "take the stairs" :D Which fits with this more creepy vibe and the little girl who beckons to you.

DisneylandParis-id56489227.jpg
Not a great picture, but still fun!
IMG_1842.JPG
More theming in between the ride and the gift shop. Seriously, I love this theming so much. :D

Back to the Disneyland Hotel - Wednesday June 12, 2024 (part 6)

We got off the ride at 5:40, so 20 minutes til our reservation for dinner (and yes I am being intentionally obscure as to where we are eating. :) ). Plenty of time!

We made our way back to the hotel, and 10 minutes later we were in the lobby. We stopped at the front desk and they told us that our room had definitely been assigned but the text didn't come through because our number was international. Oh well! Our room was in the other wing (aka, not the wing the lobby was in), so we had to go up to the 2nd floor, over through the middle section, then down one level to the first floor (but not the ground floor 'cause Europeans do floor numbers differently) to find our room. So off we went!

Belle was doing the royal encounter thing there in the lobby so we got a quick pic of that. :)
IMG_1845.JPG
Fun to just see a princess there in the lobby.

We only had enough time to see the room and drop our things, so you only get one picture for now (I can hear the wails from here but don't worry there will be LOTS of pictures later :D):
IMG_1847.JPG
I love the room but you'll notice that the picture is Snow White, not Sleeping Beauty, which was a bit disappointing, but what can you do. I do like the whole vibe though.

Ok, time for dinner! Where were we eating? The fancy restaurant there in the Disneyland Hotel - La Table de Lumiere! I was so excited that we managed to get a reservation here, cause not only is the food supposed to be great, but you get to meet princesses WITH their princes! I was so excited. :)

We got seated pretty quickly, and were at a window with a view of the castle.
IMG_1850.JPG
We weren't in the main dining room but with this view I wasn't upset. The only downside was we had to shift around a bit otherwise the sun was full in Trevor's face:
IMG_1852.JPG
see? We ended up shift a bit so the sun was blocked by the curtain. So that's a not-great part of eating early, but a nice part was that the room wasn't very full yet, so it was a bit quieter and calmer.

The whole thing was just super pretty - I love the rose there in the center:
IMG_1856.JPG
And the place setting:
IMG_1857.JPG
We ordered drinks to start - we thought they were sodas or mixed non-alcoholic drinks, but they came in bottles. *shrugs*
PXL_20240612_162327771.jpg
Mine was The Adventurer's Beverage: Strawberry juice, hibiscus flowers, raspberry puree, cherry Rooibos infusion and mint water
PXL_20240612_162336598.jpg
This was good but not as sweet as I expected. And there was a bit of a weird aftertaste? Not my favorite.

Tervor got the Storyteller's Beverage: apricot juice, passion fruit, rosepetal water, pineapple juice and vanilla-almond Rooibos infusion.

PXL_20240612_162355223.jpg
PXL_20240612_162341671.jpg
This was good - the tea infusion was still a bit weird but good. This was Trevor's drink but I liked it a bit better than my drink, even though normally I super prefer berry drinks.

La Table de Lumiere - Wednesday June 12, 2024 (part 7)

And food! We started with an amusebouche - no idea what it was:
IMG_1858.JPG
My notes say some kind of apple mousse? But it was really good and fresh - super refreshing. I wanted more. Trevor said it reminded him a bit of potato salad.

We also got some bread:
IMG_1860.JPG
Nothing fancy, but very good. And it came with special butter:
IMG_1861.JPG
Disney butter! :)

La Table de Lumiere is a three course prix fixe menu, so it started with the appetizers. I got the Red Label OEufs de Loue fried egg, potatoes, baby spinach and Comte AOP cream:
IMG_1863.JPG
No ide what I was expecting when I ordered, but this wasn't it! It was pretty good though - mostly potato and egg, just a tiny bit of cheese there on the side. Interesting! The lace thing was basically sugar.

Trevor got the European lobster with white cabbage remoulade.
PXL_20240612_163439849.jpg
He said this was light and refreshing, but veeery lobster-y. I didn't like it, cause lobster. :)

Then, time for main dishes!
I got the Roast Montbeliarde beef, potato ribbons, sweet onion cream, and Merlot jus.
IMG_1864.JPG
Again gorgeous presentation, and the flavor was good, but it was a bit tougher than I expected.

Trevor got the Seared fillet of sole, yoghurt and saffron emulsion, Mediterranean vegetable leaf and creamy celery sauce.
PXL_20240612_165026158.jpg
He said he liked this - I didn't taste it. :) I did like the presentation though - all the dishes were so nicely presented.

And then the characters started coming around! They didn't list out specifically which character couples you'd meet, so I was really excited that the first couple was my favorite - Sleeping Beauty!
PXL_20240612_165609270.jpg
PXL_20240612_165627085.jpg
And I'm putting the videos in here even though I'm super awkward:

I literally cannot help my voice going super high when I interact with characters. *facepalm* We had a pretty good interaction though, talking about their castle and the dress and what color it should be :)

Next up, Belle and the Beast in human form!! I feel like this is the only place I've ever seen him as a character available to meet.
PXL_20240612_170244798.jpg
(dang picture limit)

Meeting Belle and the beast, but in human form! - Wednesday June 12, 2024 (part 8)

And Trevor's picture with them:
PXL_20240612_170301473.jpg
Also I love Belle's dress here. :)

Prince Adam was veeeeery talkative - we of course talked about books.

Oh I forgot - a slightly different view of Trevor's entree. You can see all the vegetables all layered there.

IMG_1868.JPG

But it was soon time for desserts! For whatever reason, the cheese "dessert" was calling my name: Faisselle cheese with fresh herbs and pink shallots, crunchy tuile, and pumpkin oil.
IMG_1869.JPG
This was good - a bit lighter and not as rich, but a way bigger portion than it seems. :)

Trevor got the Enchanted Ball Cake: White Chocolate ganache, vanilla pear insert, and dacquoise biscuit.
PXL_20240612_173236444.jpg
One of us had to get this, obviously. Look at it! And it tasted as good as it looked, though I did feel a bit weird eating Belle's head. :)

And then Snow White and her prince came along and this time the character attendant offered to take a picture of all four of us, which duh, we should have been doing that all along. Oh well!
PXL_20240612_174505945.jpg
They weren't quite as talkative as the others, but still a fun meet.

We thought we were all done, but we got one last little dish:
IMG_1872.JPG
And not gonna lie, I don't really remember what these were. I'm sure they were good, as everything basically was. :)

That was actually the end of the meal - our server took a lovely picture for us:
PXL_20240612_175534934.MP.jpg
It was a great meal - definitely expensive, and I think the food erred slightly on the side of being more pretty than delicious, but only slightly, and the characters were fantastic, as well as the food and the whole atmosphere. We really enjoyed it!

We did go exploring a little bit after we finished, cause the main room of the restaurant was supposed to be inspired by the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles, and I wanted to see that:
IMG_1873.JPG
Yup, I can see the inspiration.
IMG_1874.JPG
And Belle and the Beast dancing on a music box! I'll admit I kind of liked our castle view better, but this was very pretty too. :)

By this time, it was 8 pm. Our next scheduled plan wasn't until 10:30 pm - we'd bought the reserved fireworks viewing area, cause we loved the drone show last time and there was a new drone show this time. The show started at 11, but they recommended arriving at 10:30. So, we had some time.

We decided to head back to the room and change clothes a bit. I quickly remembered to take a picture of our view before it got dark:
IMG_1881.JPG
Not too bad! No balcony though.

Room Tour! - Wednesday June 12, 2024 (part 9)
Back at the room, we definitely explored a bit:
IMG_1882.JPG
I was still slightly disappointed it was Snow White and not Sleeping Beauty, but really the only difference was the picture so *shrugs*. Also look at that mirror! It's got Rapunzel's hair tangled all around it - so cool. Apparently they sold a smaller version of the mirror but it was out of stock while we were there. That's probably good - I probably would have bought it. :D Oh! I forgot to say earlier that we had stopped by the gift shop after checking in, because there was a new Sleeping Beauty collection that had just come out and I wanted to make sure to get a hold of the pieces, so we had run up to it and bought several of the pieces. We dropped them at Bell Services and they and our regular luggage were already in our room when we'd arrived earlier. Nice! :)

Anyways, back to the room tour.
IMG_1883.JPG
Closer look at the other picture.
IMG_1884.JPG
Turn down service with a little "storybook" on the bed - we got super lucky cause it was Sleeping Beauty! yay! :)

There was a mini fridge, and everything in it was included!
IMG_1886.JPG
Faaaaancy. :)

Bathroom:
IMG_1888.JPG
No tub, which was a bummer.
IMG_1889.JPG
Two sinks -woot! Also you can't really see it but it's dwarves on the corners of the mirror. Also, a towel warmer and even a speaker in the shower so you could connect your phone via bluetooth and have music while you shower. Fancy! :)

They had a welcome message for us on the TV too:

I do like that little animation, and then it goes into a screensaver as it cycles through various princess pictures. I'll show you that later. :D

Ok, we were pleased with the room - and yes we'd checked, no bedbugs. That fear/concern had come back a bit - we kept the suitcases off to the side a bit, and everything in them was in the plastic trashbags I'd bought at the store when I'd done laundry, so while we were mostly trying to ignore it, especially cause the original hotel didn't seem to think there were bedbugs (they actually never did follow up with us) I was still kind of low-key panicking when I thought about it. So in true ostrich fashion, I was trying not to think about it.

Anyways! It was 8:37, what to do! We decided to head into the park and over to our favorite ride: Big Thunder Mountain. Of course I had to take a picture of the castle:
IMG_1892.JPG
So pretty!

We were debating about buying the fastpass, but when we got there it was not a super long wait:
IMG_1894.JPG
Only 25 minutes! So we hopped in line, and enjoyed weaving our way through and looking around at everything.
IMG_1896.JPG
Hello Phantom Manor!

We ended up waiting about 20 minutes, which felt longer than it actually was:
PXL_20240612_191248495.MP.jpg
All the excitement as we got close! If you've never ridden Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris, you're missing out - it is hands DOWN the best version of Big Thunder. The coaster is on the island, so you start by going down really deep under the water, and then finish the same way, and it's just more fun and exciting. I think. :)

All the Rides - Wednesday June 12, 2024 (part 10)

We were so excited - I was a bit afraid I may have overhyped it in my head!
IMG_1905.JPG
DisneylandParis-id56489228.jpg
I did not. :) It was just as great as we remembered. :)
IMG_1906.JPG
yay! :) And Trevor's back wasn't broken this time!

Next up, we saw that the Indiana Jones coaster was only a 5 minute wait, and since that was one of the ones we didn't get to ride last time (it was closed for refurbishment) and we were pretty close, off we went!
IMG_1911.JPG
The Temple of Peril!
IMG_1912.JPG
Yea, it looks a bit perilous! The only thing I knew about this ride was that it was super jostly and did have a loop, so I warned Trevor but he was still up for it.
IMG_1913.JPG
It was indeed really jostly, but also lots of fun!
PXL_20240612_193333954.jpg
We thought about doing it again, but it was a bit tooooo jostly for two rides in a row. :)

It was 9:30, so we decided to head back over to Thunder Mesa and ride Phantom Manor - it was only a five minute wait and honestly, how could we not ride Phantom Manor on our first day? #fakefans :)
IMG_1915.JPG
IMG_1917.JPG
The Purell there on the side does take a bit away from the theming but what can you do. :)
IMG_1918.JPG
Gazebo! Also just look how light that picture is and it was 9:30 pm!! Crazy.

Phantom Manor - Wednesday June 12, 2024 (part 11)

There was no one in the queue at all - it was great.
IMG_1921.JPG
And of course we had to get some of those iconic shots of Big Thunder Mountain from the front porch.
IMG_1923.JPG
IMG_1925.JPG
So gorgeous, I can't get over it.

When we were welcomed into the parlor, I think there was only like one or two other groups, which was cool.
IMG_1930.JPG
All sad and withered on her wedding day - gloomy...
IMG_1932.JPG
All pretty and sunny and light! I do love the effect.

When we got out of the room, the other folks went on ahead so we spent a little bit of time looking around at all the theming in the loading area:
PXL_20240612_195745274.jpg
Not gonna lie, I really want to sit and look at that picture album. Mostly we filmed a lot - there's such cool theming there!

The ride was great as always - I do love this story of the forsaken bride, though it is epically creepy that the Phantom is the bride's dad. Not gonna think about it. :)

And yes, I do have some more Phantom Manor pictures for you, of the unloading area.
IMG_1935.JPG
IMG_1937.JPG
Hi Trevor!
IMG_1938.JPG
Such a cool facade.

At this point it was 10:05, and we needed a quick bathroom break:
PXL_20240612_200832337.MP.jpg
I thought this sign was cool with the theming and really tying it to the whole Old West theme. :) Yes, I realize I'm a nerd.

At this point it was 10:15, and while I was kind of tempted to dash across the park to Hyperspace Mountain (it said it was only a 10 minute wait!) we decided not to tempt our luck and instead check in for the reserved fireworks viewing and get a space there.

Nighttime Spectacular! - Wednesday June 12, 2024 (part 12)

We got checked in super quick and made our way over to the castle.
IMG_1943.JPG
I love that lighting - so gorgeous!
PXL_20240612_202059057.jpg
This is about where we ended up, though not quite. We were about 3 or 4 rows back from the rope, and while we were in an area where people were sitting on the ground mostly, there was a group of 3 or 4 adults, right at the rope, insistent on standing. Which honestly was a bit irritating - if you're gonna insist on standing, why not move back? Everyone was sitting. And they mostly stayed seated as it came time for the fireworks, which was nice.
IMG_1946.JPG
This was basically our view, including the arm of a guy who was part of that group who refused to sit down and yet be right at the rope. Poor Trevor was slightly behind me and to the right but he said he was fine? *shrugs*
PXL_20240612_202111618.jpg
A view of the hub, just for comparison. We probably should have gotten to the area slightly earlier, but it was nice that it wasn't that packed, and that we were front and center, despite the standing up people right by us. And then the show started!

Not the best filming of the Disney Electrical Sky Parade, but man it was amazing to see. Disneyland Paris is AWESOME with the drone shows. :)

Then the fireworks show was actually the same one we'd seen two years ago: Disney Illuminations. They'd actually been running a different one - Disney Dreams I think - but we missed it by like 2 weeks. Bummer! This show isn't my favorite, but it was nice being able to see it so close to the castle.

One more selfie cause gorgeous castle. :)
PXL_20240612_212104982.jpg
Honestly, I just love it. That castle is gorgeous, and the drone show especially is just fantastic. Amazing.

The park actually closed at 11 pm when the show started, so nothing to do now but some shopping on the way out (we stopped at the little book shop near the entrance to buy the books they have about Space Mountain and Pirates - we'd already bought the Phantom Manor one :) ), and it turned out to be super convenient 'cause it started raining as we were leaving, but we were staying at the hotel that was literally 30 seconds away. Woot!
IMG_1964.JPG
Good night Mickey!!

Literally 5 minutes later we were back in our room. Woot! And as we were unpacking and getting ready for bed, I noticed that the carpet had cute little princess details:

1. adorbs and 2. WHY THE SLEEPING BEAUTY SNUB! It's literally her castle...and yet no representation in the carpet #justiceforSleepingBeauty :D

We were tired, but it was a happy tired - back in a happy place. :) Tomorrow was gonna be all Disney!

Fun with Metrics: (all the metrics are back!)
Steps Walked: 20,598 (9.2 miles)
Ride Count: 7 (Crush's Coaster, Avengers Flight Force, Web Slingers, Tower of Terror, Big Thunder, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, Phantom Manor)

Wow what a great first Disney day! The castle pics are beautiful and I love your room 😊
it was a good day! I really liked reliving it as I wrote it up - aside from the middle of the afternoon when the show got canceled and the ride queue got dumped, we had great luck. So fun! Glad you liked the pics :)

From Once Upon a Time to a Galaxy Far Far Away - Thursday June 13, 2024 (part 1)

Ooooh I realized I forgot to include some photos from yesterday - when I don't take good notes I go off the photos, and Disneyland Paris doesn't have great timestamps on their photopass photos, so I inadvertently missed this whole after dinner interlude! Apparently after dinner but before heading to our room, we had a time at the Disneyland Hotel "Royal Encounter", where we got to meet a princess! And who did we meet?
DisneylandParis-id56489243.jpg
Rapunzel!

It was a fun meet; we told her about seeing all the shows today and she asked if we'd seen her show, but we hadn't yet, so that was our homework for the next day.

Awkward photo but I love that you can kind of see the backdrop - a fairytale book against the library bookshelves. :)

Ok, my bad! Back to the normal trip report. :)

We slept in a bit today, and didn't end up leaving the room until 9:40 am - definitely missing the early magic hour. Oh well! We were just enjoying the room, really.

Storybook! It's no WDW Today (#rip) but still awesome.

It was so nice though to exit the hotel and be in the park 30 seconds later, though. And we were on a mission - where to first?

Hyperspace Mountain!

No fastpass cause the line was short - 15 min later we were getting on!

Trevor really likes this ride. I like it a lot too, but I kind of wish I could have ridden it with the original Jules Vernes theming, vs the Star Wars theming.

Still a great start to the morning though. :)

Afterwards we were kind of wandering around Discoveryland -

Hello there X Wing!

What to do next? How about meeting Darth Vader?

Scary Darth Vader - Thursday June 13, 2024 (part 2)

I honestly don't remember if the line was short or what - it must have been for us to hop in, but we had a great meet. I left my video on inadvertently, so I captured at least some audio of the interaction.

Not gonna lie, Darth Vader is an intimidating character to meet!

Pretty sure each of us was selling the other out here. :)

Seriously, he's so scary!

Anyways, after meeting him, we were hungry - time for snacks!

and a sugar crepe! These actually weren't amazing - fine, but not amazing. But even a fine crepe is good. :)

We didn't really have a set plan - I wanted to ride Small World 'cause it was another one that was closed last time, but it wasn't like a schedule, so we just meandered up to the castle.

They still had the mobiles up from the 30th anniversary celebration - this one is Merida. :)

Of Princesses and Dragons - Thursday June 13, 2024 (part 3)

More castle pictures! Actually, we found the one and only photopass photographer not attached to a ride here off to the side of the castle, but weirdly enough it only took a "video" - aka took three still shots and superimposed a moving banner to make it a video.
Weird!

Symphony of Colors is the parade/stage show they do a couple times during the day.

Afterwards we went around to the side and took some more photos - I wanted to get some pictures with my Sleeping Beauty bag at Sleeping Beauty's castle!

Yes, I like Sleeping Beauty. So what. :D

We then went to see the dragon, cause we couldn't be this close and NOT see the dragon. That'd be crazy. :)

Honestly, super creepy. Love it.

We kept going in to Fantasyland and looking around - there were construction walls up for something, but I didn't even mind 'cause there was an awesome Sleeping Beauty mural on it!
IMG_2017.JPG
Love it. Though I realized just now that Maleficent's face is a bit creepy. LOL

Then, we finally made it over to Small World!

Definitely reminds me more of Disneyland's Small World, instead of DisneyWorld's Small World.

And 5 minutes later, we were on our boat!

The Happiest Cruise that Ever Sailed - Thursday June 13, 2024 (part 4)

I didn't see any Disney characters in the mannequins in this one, but there were lots of interesting countries that were slightly different than what I remember. Though to be fair I haven't ridden Small World in either DisneyWorld or Disneyland in at least a year or two.

That bus on the bridge seems dangerous...

Don Quixote!

Hollywood and the Statue of Liberty! Not sure what the big sailboat is there on the left though.
IMG_2052.JPG
This one made me laugh a lot. :D

So yea, a fun cruise round the world! :)

Afterwards, time for snacks! One of the quick service restaurants there nearby had garlic bread, so 100% that's what I was getting.
IMG_2055.JPG
And it was indeed delicious. A real baguette with butter and garlic. Yum. Made up for the middling crepe earlier.

The parade was happening so we headed over to Adventureland and Frontierland to avoid it - I don't remember what we did for 20 minutes or so, but the next picture I have is over by Phantom Manor, because Phantom Manor Mickey was out meeting and greeting! yay! This was one of the things on my list and we'd missed him last time (though we did get to meet Phantom Manor Pluto). We ended up waiting only about 15 minutes, and then it was time to meet him!

Phantom Manor Mickey! - Thursday June 13, 2024 (part 5)

Mickey then had Trevor come in and we got some pictures together:
DisneylandParis-id56489217.jpg
DisneylandParis-id56489219.jpg
And then Mickey wouldn't let Trevor go without doing some shots just with the two of them! It really was a great meet and greet - Mickey was super expressive. He liked both our shirts, even though they were Haunted Mansion and not Phantom Manor. :)

Scary Mickey and Trevor!

Yay! I was so excited we got to meet him. Such a cute outfit. :)

And of course since we were right there at Phantom Manor we had to ride it. We got paused a little bit in the ending section, which was cool.
IMG_2063.JPG
IMG_2064.JPG
Aw, bummer this one turned out blurry - it's Phantom Manor up on the hill. Darn.
Creepy Melanie!

We also went up and explored Boot Hill a little bit -

And I feel like there shouldn't be a heartbeat coming from this tomb?! :D

Honestly, Phantom Manor is the best. I love it. :)
