Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS RESORT Information & Questions

We are due to stay January 19-26, when we booked I thought we would be coming in on the tail end of cheer and dance and thought it’d be ok but now I’m reading there may still be some still taking place for our dates. I recently lost my mum and this was to be a time to just relax and escape reality for a bit, so we’re nervous about the possibility of noise and crowds during our stay. We are doing two After Hours events so will mostly be at the resort the other times. So a couple questions please, do we have reason to worry and is there a possibility we may receive an offer to switch resorts? I think I’ve read of that happening to others staying at All Stars during times of sports events. Thanks.

We are coming Jan 21-28, we are also planning on hitting the Hollywood Studios after hours. I too am shocked at how booked the resorts seem to be. I have lent way too much of my headspace to thinking about and searching other resort availability.

Ya me too. I think we’re just leaving things as they are and make the best of it if it turns out that there’s any issues. I just don’t have the energy to keep check for availability 😂

College Cheerleading and Dance Championship is January 17-19 so they will be there on your check-in day.

I would estimate 90 % of them will head home at some point on the 20th.

The other 10 % may stay for a day or 2 and tour with their families, but Cheerleaders will not be much of a "problem" after the 20th.

The other factor is The 15s(groups of South American girls celebrating being 15).

January/February and July are the big months for them.

The groups have been more and more each year Post Covid-no way to really know how many you may encounter next month.

I wouldn't worry too much about it,but IF you do find yourself in a situation not to your liking, don't hesitiate to go to the front desk, explain your situation and see if there is anything they can do for you.

I’m not sure what your budget is but I see rooms available at Port Orleans Riverside, which is much more laid back and quiet. You could even stay in the Alligator bayou rooms that seem more serene plus you have the added perk taking the boat to Disney Springs.
I’m sorry to her about the loss of your mom.

I join in offering my condolences for your loss.

Thanks for this info, makes us feel a bit better. I think we’re going to leave things as they are and hope for the best. Like you said, we can always seek a solution from front desk if a problem arises.

Thank

Thank you for your condolences, it’s just been the worst thing to cope with. We’ve stayed at POR a few times and it is a lovely resort but i think we’ll just sit tight with our Sports reservation and see how things go. Ultimately even with the chance of disruption we’ll still be at Disney, it is truly our happy place, we’ll make the best of it. Thank you for the suggestion😃

nvr2old let me start out by saying I am sorry for your loss.
It is all about how your mind set is when you go to Sports and there are disruptions.
I always ask for rooms facing away from the resort on the back side since I find it to be much quieter.
Just depends if a view is your priority or not.

I hope you have a magical stay. 🩷
