Can someone post a picture of an updated Map of Typhoon Lagoon that has the Beachcomber Shacks with numbers on it? We are planning on booking one for this summer but need to make a request for a certain shack. We also would like to see the current regular map if anyone has one.

Thank you1

So this is only going to be partially helpful and perhaps confusing, but maybe with this and some other reports of recent experiences you can piece together what you need.

Not sure when you last visited TL but they've changed some things around and have added new shack types (there are now at least two types, maybe three) so much of the old info out on the Internet is stale (and it was hard to find good water park cabana info in the first place). Sorry if I'm repeating something you already know.

The map below shows the "Premium Plus Beachcomber Shacks" - 21-27. Premium Plus shacks are the most expensive category and these are new. That area is where a large section of Getaway Glen Umbrellas used to be. 1-6 (which I think are just "Premium Beachcomber Shacks") are also in this area, although not labeled on this map.

Note this map was purely for directions to our specific shack and does not show all shack locations - there's a cluster to the right of the wave pool (see second image) and maybe some other new locations as well.

We rented day of and I was third from the last shack left - I was trying to take mental notes/pics the best I could but was a bit of a scramble in the chaos of park opening. Hopefully others can chime in as well.

Here's an OLD map so do not take any of it as current fact. I "think" 7-12 by the wave pool are still accurate but I'm NOT totally sure about that.

Hope that is at least partially helpful. Happy to answer any questions.

Thank you for your reply this is helpful. Do you know if any of the premium plus shacks are wheelchair accessible? Also, I would love to see any photos you took of these new shacks.

No personal experience with accessibility, but it seems like they wouldn't pose a problem. There was a sandy area in front of ours, but the shack itself is accessed with wide concrete paths.

I didn't get around to taking pics of ours until later in the day when we had stuff laying around, so forgive the mess in these photos.

Some features of the Premium Plus shack:
- A nicer wicker-type furniture than other shack types (we really liked the furniture, it's very comfy)
- Fan to the top left
- TV to the top right
- Fridge to the back right (stocked with water)
- Safe towards the back right
- These are weather-safe... so if a storm comes you can stay here
- I think Disney says the Premium Plus shacks are a little bigger than other cabana types

View looking out. TV top left, fan top right. Very large table under the TV. Some of the umbrellas in the middle were available to rent, some were open for our (anyone with a cabana in this area) use. The shacks to the left and right of this were also Premium Plus versions. The ones you see in front are just Premium versions - different furniture, no TV, no fan, not sure about a fridge?

Sitting in the shack looking left - fridge, safe on the pillar. Also can see our neighbor's Premium Plus shack.

TV offers a gazillion channels.

One of my long time gripes about the water parks is Disney's insistence on only having a "platter" menu for the shacks/patios. I mean, it's great for larger parties I guess, but when it's just a few people we don't need $40 worth of chicken fingers. In my experience sometimes the attendants would offer to get items from other dining outlets in the park but sometimes not. So, I was glad to see an A La Carte menu finally added - THANK YOU Disney.

And the beverage menu.

Hope that helps - happy to answer any questions. My past shack experiences have been in the ones to the right of the wave pool (if looking at it from the shallow end). That location is perhaps a little more central to everything in the park and at first I was unsure what I'd think about this location as it felt "off to the side" - but ultimately we enjoyed this location... it was cozy, relatively quiet, quick access to the lazy river, etc. We enjoyed our day.

How close are the shacks to Crush N Gusher? We are planning to rent one in July (not sure which one we will get) and I'm sure my kids will want to ride it a zillion times.

Thank you for the information and photos this is very helpful. We have rented the ones you mentioned to the right of the wave pool in the past and loved it. You are correct the location is a little better but this time we need it to be wheelchair accessible and like the added amenities of the premium plus shack. Thanks again!

the Premium Plus Shacks look alittle farther away but their is a group that is very close to the CNG. We have heard that you can request a specific shack when you book but I am not sure that it is guaranteed you will get it.

Request for Eddieb33: Would you happen to have a picture of your previous shack to the right of the wave pool? That's the site I was hoping to request, but not sure if they take requests... Thank you!

Thanks for all the great information. Do you recall the price of the premium shack?

Thanks!

For mid March the Premium Plus shack was $300 plus tax ($19.50). Disney cabana pricing is usually seasonal and it’s never quite clear just what their seasons are, so YMMV on the price. I’m not sure what the lower level shacks were in terms of price, I’m sorry!

Were you offered the Premium Plus Shack when you booked or were you just lucky to be assigned one?

I booked walk-up that morning, so not in advance. It was a bit chaotic as there were many others trying to do the same thing so a long line that they ended up cutting off a few after me. I think when it was my turn there was a Premium and Premium Plus shack available but I just wanted to quickly get it secured so didn't really ask many questions! :-)
