We had asked for a wake up call of 6:30am this last day on the ship but didn't need it as we had left the veranda door open and the curtains pulled open. As had happened before we were awaken very early in the morning by cm's hosing down things with what sounded like high pressure hoses. When this started we would shut the doors. Not long after that though the ship made it back to port and being on the dock side VERY bright lights were shining into our room and we fell back to sleep but soon woke up again as crew began driving forklifts around just below our room. At first I was irritated at the noise but then when I got up and got dressed and went out to watch I was glad we were up. This had to be the most organized, busy group outside of the FedEx hub I have ever seen!
In just a few minutes we had already seen a semi-truck load of food or goods go into the hold while delivery vans were bringing special shipments up and having them noted and signed for and whisked away into the ship. There were two semi trailer trucks of goods there and as one pallet was loaded on a conveyer belt, that belt would be going in and another coming back out, plus used goods, and I suppose trash was coming off. We saw dozens of mattresses come off the ship. And the whole thing took place before sunup under the bright lights of the dock. I know it sounds dull, but to us it was really very interesting. We packed up the last of our things and since we were heading back to WDW and today was DH's birthday, we wanted to get there as fast as we could.
We went back to BBB for one last breakfast and enjoyed the sunrise and view of the port. There was a very large cruise ship there, I cannot remember which one it was but it looked very nice.
We finished eating reluctantly and headed for deck 3 and were off the ship by about 8am. It was amazing how they have the luggage lined up and we were in our car by 8:20am.
As we pulled out of the parking lot we both turned to each other and said " Let's do this again!"
Final notes:
Noise was no problem in the halls, even on the last night we didn't hear the crew putting luggage up and we were right across the hall from the storage area, where it is loaded and unloaded. The noise at night from the crew washing down the decks was a problem even with the doors shut we could still hear it a little. I could go back to sleep after awhile though. We had neighbors on each side but never heard a thing from either side.
Service was excellent, room service was swift, and very good.
Our stateroom host Marlon Felix was very freindly and we enjoyed kidding with him and our room was always spotless. We had towel animals every night and he never failed to ask if we needed anything and always told us to have fun.
Our wait staff was very good and very quick to refill glasses.
With the exception of the last night, we were pleased with the service.
There is plenty to keep you busy or you can choose to relax as we did and just enjoy the sea air and sunshine.
Drinks were very good and DH and I managed to rack up $83 dollars in adult beverages in 4 days!
We spent $70 at Shutters on photos and $31 dollars on film developing.
Guest services were always freindly and quick, even when they were busy. DH had gotten a arcade card and put it next to his room card and it ruined it and he was able to get a new one very quickly there.
Service at Palos was great! Noemi our server was truly outstanding. The food was the best on the ship. I wish I had gotten more cookies in the afternoon, they were very good!
All the other food was good except for the scrambled eggs and MM waffles.
Next time we will stay on the ship at Nassua and do more onboard activities. I don't like to shop and we have casinos at home. Between the day at CC and having a condo on the beach in Florida, I would rather spend my time on the ship.
Embarkation and debarkation were very organized and we were impressed by how smooth it was.
What little entertainment we saw was very good. We will try to do lots more next cruise.
The adult pool was a joy to us, when walking by the other two and seeing just how busy and noisy they where! Even the music played at the adult pool is mellow:)
Walking around deck 4 we really enjoyed, it felt like we were on an old time cruise ship when we walked or viewed the sunsets there. Thanks to the joggers who would yell out which side they where coming up on at the ends of the ship where it narrows and you have to move over to let them by. It kept us from getting mowed down!
The aft 7 deck is a great place for peace and quiet but I think the word gets out about it as it got busier as the cruise went on.
CC was the highlight of the cruise.... the only bad thing about it were the bugs that started biting me when I got out of the water around 4pm. The food served at lunch was better than I expected, and the water clearer and calmer and warmer than I could have hoped for.
We both gained two pounds after much pigging out, but we spent 3 1/2 days at the parks after the cruise and ate very heartly there too, so I won't blame it all on the cruise!
We will be back!
PS -in response to a thread about the choice to either be able to afford to cruise more often without a veranda or take fewer trips with one, I think I would choose to go less often and have a veranda, we really did enjoy sitting on it in the mornings and late at night.

I enjoyed reading about your experience watching the activities that were going on before debarking from the ship. We slept too late on our cruise to be able to see that, but our next cruise we plan to do a lot less sleeping!! :D We, too, enjoyed deck 4, especially those comfortable wooden loungers with the blue cushions!! And I agree with you about cruising more often without a verandah vs. cruising less often with a verandah. We absolutely loved our verandah on our January 7-day Magic cruise last year and we decided that we wouldn't cruise again without one. If we would have opted for an inside cabin we could have cruised again this year, but since we wanted that verandah we have to wait another year. No problem! We know how nice a verandah is, so we have it to look forward to next January! :D
