Which do you recommend for dinner? We've been to both but it's been a while. We'll be with our kids ages 9, 6, and 3. Thanks!

I recommend The Plaza restaurant absolutely. They make great sandwiches, burgers and ice cream. They serve very efficiently and quickly.

Tony's Town Square is the worst food in the park, so not that. Casey's Corner, Columbia Harbor House, a turkey leg off a street vendor, ect. all are delcious and better than Tony's. Most of the counter top fast food places in all 4 parks are better than Tony's as well. (save for some of the atrocious ones at Hollywood Studios like Backlot Express and that Pizza joint they have there.)

My family is among those that like Tony's. It does seem to take a long time to get seated, but we have liked what we ate there, even though there was too much food for us to finish. The wait staff has always been attentive, and the decor is very Lady and the Tramp without being overbearing. If we can't get BoG on our next trip, we will be going there again because my inlaws won't be with us so we won't have to eat at Liberty Tree.

WooHoo! We must be the other family that enjoys Tony's.

It will never win any awards, but the spaghetti with a meatball and a sausage is a nice twist, and the tiramisu is a wonderful dessert... And I love the building and location.

The Plaza is a nice place to eat. I'd go there over Tony's any time.

I have never eaten at Tony's but we had a great lunch at the Plaza 2 weeks ago. DH had the meatloaf meal and it was a lot of food. 2 Big slices of meatloaf, garlic mashed potatoes and corn. I had the cheesesteak sandwich and it was yummy.
I would definitely go back

Plaza without a doubt. We waited 45 mins past our ADR to be seated at Tonys. My main was 4 pieces of ravioli in a bowl of sauce-I had eaten it before DH had even picked up his fork! The smallest portion I have ever seen in a Disney restaurant. Then the waiter committed the cardinal sin of clearing my plate and bringing the dessert menu whilst DH was still eating his main-so unbelievably rude!
Eaten at the Plaza twice and never had any bad experience-and treat yourself to a mint choc chip milkshake-when you get to the bottom of the glass theres a thick layer of chocolate chips left you can eat with a spoon!!

The Plaza to me just seems more like a 'sandwich/ice cream shop'. Nothing wrong with that but it was nothing special to me and my family has never even suggested going back.
We went to Tony's a few weeks ago for the first time and it was one of the best meals of the trip. We've booked there before but always backed out because of the reviews. So glad we kept it this time. Food was great, service was great and we really didn't wait long to be seated.

Depends on what kind of meal you want. The Plaza is a notch above quick service, with primarily burgers and sandwiches. Tony's serves more entree/dinner style meals. We've done both and enjoyed them both, but probably leaned more towards the Plaza.

Tony's was not the worst meal at Disney World. It was the worst meal of my life!

Plaza - don't even think about Tony's.

We will be there the week after Christmas. It was sort of a last minute decision, so by the time we booked all the TS restaurants were completely full for our MK day (Dec 30th). Since we're going to be there all day, I definitely wanted a sit-down dinner to rest our legs a bit. After a few weeks of trying and nothing at all being available, I was able to get a dinner at Tony's.

After reading some of these Tony's reviews, I'm not so sure I'm feeling good about that anymore.:rotfl: Oh well, at least we won't have to wait in a line and scramble for a table at a QS!

It's all good...

Right?

My family greatly preferred Tony's to the Plaza. I felt like the Plaza was too small.....the entire room was near the kitchen and no restrooms accessible from the dining room?!? and if I remember correctly the food was served on paper plates? Not very relaxing....food was just ok...would never go back.

Tony's food was very good for us, service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. Been twice, consistently good!!

Good luck!!!

Our meal at the Plaza was not served on paper plates. But I do agree the Plaza is quite small. Not much of an interesting atmosphere.

The paper plates were back when the Main Street bakery was being remodeled into a Starbucks. The plaza, ice cream parlor, and Starbucks all share a dishwashing area so paper plates it was for a portion of time. They have been using dishes for a long time now.

I'm always convinced when I hear people say the food at Tony's was "great" they they must feel the same about Olive Garden and jars of tomato sauce from the likes of Ragu and Prego and Francesca Rinaldi. For me, what I just mentioned makes me gag and I truly cannot eat it. But then, I grew up with real Italian food in an Italian-American family - I don't think I tasted fake Italian food like that until I was like 20 years old and it truly was a shock to my taste buds.

However, if you grew up with jar sauce and Olive Garden, than you won't notice any difference with the quality of food at Tony's I guess.

We've never eaten at Tony's either. Is it better or worse than Mama Melrose in DHS?
