I just had to do this poll... I have seen so many posts about crocs and how wonderful people think they are....

I have even thought of giving them a try for my next trip as my heels get SO PAINFUL and it just ruins the rest of my trip..... :headache:

BUT the big question is to wear socks or not with Crocs!

I don't know if i could give up socks, but I don't want to look like a dweeb either? :lmao:

I'm all for socks with Crocs. UNLESS it looks like rain and then I take the socks off because I detest wet socks.

Hubby was a sockless man but I notice he ears "with" more and more.

As for looking like a dweeb...you're already wearing big rubber shoes with holes in them. Can't get much dweebier than that! :rotfl2:

I would definately wear socks. I made the mistake of going without socks wearing crocs that were well broken in and the right size for me and I got blisters on both feet. Good thing I had moleskin with me but unfortunately that first day it was back in the room so I had to hobble around for half the day.

Sometimes my heels hurt because my foot is not getting enough support. I suffer from plantar facitus. I bought the RX crocs and I got special socks from footsmart.com that gives my arch extra support. Voila - no pain! And we were there 12 days in June!!! I also changed my socks three times during the day. Hope this helps.

I wear black crocs with black footie socks. At Disney, if it were raining or we were going on a wet ride, I took my socks off and put in my bag until all was dry.

The time before, I didn't use socks and I had problems with my feet. With socks I had no problems.

Special RX Crocs? I haven't heard of those....

My heals just get so painful and sore...and it is worse once I stop and start back up again.... UGH....

I am determined to not have the same issue this go around!

How true, how true!! ;)

count me in as a sock crocker too...........

Well since I almost always sox w/ my crocs (except when wearing them to/from the pool), I guess that I am a sock crocker too!!!

There are two types. You can find them at most podiatrist offices, but I ordered my from footsmart. My neice who is a nurse and my friend who suffers from diabetes recommended them. I got the Cloud ones. They are a little more expensive that the regular Crocs, but with what I spend on my vacation I want to enjoy it!! I also used Icy Hot at night before going to bed and did foot stretching exercises. This was my first trip with no pain or blisters!!!

I think you can do either or, depending on the style. Honestly, the bigger question is, what is most comfortable to you? ;)

We're split here at my house. I wear socks--DS does not. Grandma does at times, but then other times she doesn't. I like the comfort of having socks, but that's just me. I carry a ziploc with me so when I go on water rides, or it rains, I put the socks in the ziploc and get them out later.

Also split house here. Daughter and I do not, husband and son do.
They love the Crocs socks that Crocs sells.

If your pain is from plantar faciitis, Crocs will not help-I know, I've tried both the regular Crocs and the special needs Crocs that are supposed to be for people with feet problems. (I found that actually, while at first the Crocs feel good, as I go through the day, my pain gets worse with Crocs.) Foot doc explains that's because Crocs offer plenty of cushioning, but little or no arch support. And heal pain, believe it or not, usually, comes from "fallen" arches. And the way to help it is to have really good arch support along with heel cushioning.

Try getting some three-way shoe pad-inserts...Dr Scholls make some, Walmart has some generic brand. The kind I use cost in the $5.00-7.00 range. They have a pad on the ball of the foot, on the heel and also have a good arch support. You just put them in your good walking shoes. During normal day-to-day use I replace them about once a month (when my feet start hurting I know it's time for new.) But at Disney for a week, I start the week with a new pair, and replace those on day 4...that's a lot of walking there!)

And whatever you do, do not wear flip-flops (horrible for your arches-puts stress on exactly the wrong parts of the foot) and do not go bare-foot: same problem, no arch support so will cause increasing heel pain (also terrible for arches/heels.)

I bought a pair of mary jane crocs because of the praises they received on this board. I don't care for them. The nubs on the bottom make it feel like sand in my shoes. I think my crocs will stay home for occasional use.

I have heel spurs and was hesitant to try crocs. But...I forgot my sandals for pool use and my wife bought me some disney crocs. No pain and I even wore them to AK :cloud9: . The problem...I should have worn socks. They rubbed against the insides of my feet and I got blisters  . I vote FOR SOCKS, because (sorry for the rhyme) I love my crocs:cool1: .

In the winter I wear socks to keep my feet warm, but I also wear them in humid Florida because my feet sweat so much. Here in Nebraska in the summer I wear them without socks.

As to the sore heels, If mine are getting sore I go back to wearing my Crocs more and the pain goes away. I used to be an avid Birkenstock wearer but find my heels actually hurt more with them- even though my Ped doc told me they were best for my feet!
My daughter is a baker/cake decorater and on her feet all day I bought her a pair of the crocs for cooks (different no slip bottoms), the first day she wore them she called me and said MOM- today is the first day in a very long time that my feet don't hurt at the end of the day!
So for us Crocs are great!! With or without socks!
