I have a separate question, which I hope is okay to post here since the thread is about fireworks viewing tips (even though I know the discussion has been about MK).

How long should I expect to wait after Luminous at Epcot to get onto a monorail back to TTC? I know it's a crush of people since everyone is leaving at the same time, but curious how long it might realistically take. Assume we'll be viewing from the part of World Showcase closest to Spaceship Earth, so closest to the front of park.

Hopefully you will get a better answer, but many years ago we did this and we were on the second or third monorail out of the station. I would say 10-15 minutes. We positioned ourselves well and wasted no time getting to the station.

If fireworks are indeed a priority then you will want to see them from main Street- the best place is in the street between Caseys Corner and the Hub- you will see that the road rises- try to get on the peak or up side (every little bit helps for the people standing in front of you)- we usually have the group sit on the curb and send a couple for dinner or snacks and eat dinner while we wait- then once they start roping things off you can move into the road- it will be obvious when its OK
