I would love to try and cook Tilapia, but I have no idea how. I've looked at recipes online, but not sure which ones would taste good. What is your favorite way to prepare it?
Mmmmm .... I was wondering what I was going to have for dinner and now I know! I think you can make just about whatever you want with it using a recipe for a firm white fish. For instance, I have made fish tacos with tilapia.
I picked up some fresh sorrel (a lemony herb) at the farmer's market last week. I think I'm going to try tilapia with sorrel and a warm couscous salad.
I was just going to throw it together like a tabouli salad. Start out with cooked couscous and then add a bit of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, parsley, green peppers, cucumbers and green onions. Maybe toss in a tomato too, I would probably not take the time to chill it so it would be "warm"What's in a couscous salad if you don't mind me asking?

I'm doing weight watchers and couscous is a really good substitute for rice and other than the olive oil all I have to "count" is the couscous.
FWIW, I don't know if tilapia grills well. IIRC it flakes pretty easily and I could see it break up when I tried to flip it. If I did do it on the grill, I would have to do it on a special rack I have for fish and veggies.
I make Broiled Talapia Parmesan. It's wonderful!

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup butter, softened
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon celery salt
2 pounds tilapia fillets
Directions
Preheat your oven's broiler. Grease a broiling pan or line pan with aluminum foil.
In a small bowl, mix together the Parmesan cheese, butter, mayonnaise and lemon juice. Season with dried basil, pepper, onion powder and celery salt. Mix well and set aside.
Arrange fillets in a single layer on the prepared pan. Broil a few inches from the heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Flip the fillets over and broil for a couple more minutes. Remove the fillets from the oven and cover them with the Parmesan cheese mixture on the top side. Broil for 2 more minutes or until the topping is browned and fish flakes easily with a fork. Be careful not to over cook the fish.
