Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I like that kind too. I've definitely bought the chocolate chips for baking, and I think the white and butterscotch ones at different times as well.

Ooooo, our market didn't have the butterscotch but they did have the peanut butter ones. I'm debating about buying a bag this weekend so I can combine the dark chocolate and peanut butter to satisfy some Reese's Pieces/Peanut Butter M&M cravings in a more diet friendly manner.

5 grateful hearts 🐺🐺🐺💃🕺as we sit on the shaded patio in perfect weather knowing this could be the last

5 happy doves picking up twigs from our forest 🌴 🌴 🌴 🍊 🍋 🦎 yard... though it could be the same bird building a nest🪹🪹🪹🪹

5 twirling Christmas Garland of foil Holly catching the breeze and twinkle like light in the sun 🌞 🌞 🌞... grateful that our yard is alive

5 random things, some are not things :)
My granddaughter. There is no joy like the joy I feel when we are together
This thread. So grateful to see it was still going when I was gone for a bit. Thanks, PollyannaMom!
The trips we took to WDW in the 90’s. They were special and more affordable! :)
Music, especially my Spotify lists for walking
Reading: just finished Sunrise on the Reaping and now I am re-reading all the Hunger Games books. Even though the subject matter is so horrendous, the characters are compelling and that’s what is most important to me. In TV shows too. If I don’t care about at least one character, I stop reading or watching.

I have never gotten into poems they’re just not for me

The rhyme I know I can’t put on here I learned them from my father he was full of rhymes and funny stories it’s one of the few fun memories I have of him telling these things and having us in stitches how the man could remember all of these was always amazing to me I wish I could remember all of those funny rhymes and stories that he had he had an act for it I did not hear it that but it did give me a very happy fond memory
I will enjoy reading everybody’s responses and maybe it will trigger maybe calling some of the ones my father used to say that I could print on here…

Good Friday Morning :yay:

#1 - Sunday Funday - I only say this when we have fun plans on Sunday or when I’m excited about floating the pool on a Sunday.

#2 - Lovey Dovey - when I hug my DD21 I call her “my lovey dovey girl”

I can’t think of a 3rd now - if I do I’ll post later 🙂

Good early morning friends. I did enjoy a few of Emily Dickinson's poems when I was younger along with some others otherwise dear WDWEPCOT, I have never much been into poetry either.

Dear Slo, :) to your sweet daughter lovey dovey share. What a loving mom you are.

A mutual friend used to call our elderly late friend Sue, "Sue Magoo." Smiling to think of them both. I do miss Sue and should reach out to Sara.

I remember a family in the Baby-sitter's Club series had pets with rhyming names. Noodle the Poodle and Myrtle the Turtle for example.

Emily was in our freshman literature anthology book... snake 🐍 🐍 🐍 in the grass and a few other poems... William Carlos Williams was my favorite to teach and explore word smithing . Dead opposum on the road was the title of poem that each student had to write the students knew of Dead opposums

Myrtle the turtle 🐢 🐢 is a statue on the West side of Joshua Tree village ...an icon to village History

Not a poem here in Yuma will be titled Lovely Dovey but fantastic you coo to your daughter in that fashion

They're considered rodents here and Yuma is the dove hunting capital of the world

WITH OUT RHYME OR REASON........
Well....the palm 🌴 🌴 🌴 habitat is excellent and there are no predators...so we wrestle here with orchestral cooing and marines dog fighting in their jets

Georgie porgie kissed all the girls and made them cry

And the few times I cried in the principal office...
Well my dad told me to kiss all the girls.. and Dad's rhyme treat of Christmas mixed nuts stopped with me

Stop Mop - It's said by Merryweather during a scene from Sleeping Beauty. I don't know why but always makes me giggle.

Toss Across - I think I got this game for my 5th birthday. It was always a fun way to play tic-tac-toe.

Reese's Pieces - One of my absolute favorite candies.

I love poetry. Some of my favorites didn’t always rhyme; e e Cummings, Yevtushenko, Langston Hughes, Emily Dickinson, Walt Whitman, Khalil Gibran, lots more that I can’t think of right now.
My favorite: by Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly

And, of course there are countless rhyming song lyrics.
One of my favorite Beatles songs ”rhymes” is from She’s A Woman
“ She will never make me jealous
Gives me all her time as well as”
:)
