Three Things...Gratitude Thread

1. Wheels on my car that allow me to get places.
2. The ginger beers (non-alcoholic, like ginger ale but much stronger) my wife loves so much that come in a 4-pack. It's nice to see her happy.
3. The Beatles, one of my favorite bands and they changed the course of rock music.

#2 - My puppies for legs - It’s always sad to see a 3 legged animal.
One of my kitties has 3 legs and lives a full and active life! He bullies the other 3 cats in the house (all have 4 legs), is a fast runner, and is the best at catching bugs. He had 3 legs when we got him, but according to his medical records removing the one allowed him to survive cancer. He gets lots of pets and scratchies, lots of catnip toys and an appropriate amount of treats.

So don't feel sad! Some really live perfectly happy lives with just the 3.

4 Palm 🌴 🌴 🌴 🌴 very tall and has lights up it's trunk. Part of my Western view when the sun dips and temps really drop...I am like a squirrel now squirreling away cold memories... like the rest of the Continental US.abnormal weather....are spring is now abnormally hot..no 80s... border line 100s

Railrat is a website that allows me to watch by time table the FOUR Coast starlight Amtrak trains on route...as far as being on time...and how long each fresh air break will last ...I mean.. I can only watch the Howard Johnson Matterhorn cam so many times .. right now a different train out of Texas is 11 hours late into Los Angeles

And grateful for the four seats on Amtrak numbered 43 and44.... they Are the second worst rows on the train.they are up against the wall of the stairwell ... but there are two variations...the worst when the row faces the wall and seat 44 has no view and there are no fold down trays. The other variation is when you face away from the wall and leaves a gap big enough for a cardboard garbage can...seat 44 getting that traffic...SO . the gratefulness is that no one is assigned that seat for trip duration.. I have the row to myself

Happy Saturday

#1 - Remote - As in my TV remote. You don’t realize how much you need it until the battery dies in it.

#2 - Rootbeer - I love my Rootbeer with pizza on Sunday, I’m currently out of it, which makes me realize how grateful I am for it when I do have it. I sure hope it goes on sale soon - I only buy soda when it’s on sale and then I stock up.

#3 - Records - Great memories of playing my records in the 80s. I still have all of them and part of me would like to buy a record player and play them again.

TV - how else am I gonna watch horse racing all weekend? I seriously have my TV on all the time I may not be watching it but I’m listening to it

Trees - 🌲 I love trees just not real close to my house 🏠 that way I don’t have to rake leaves don’t have to worry about cleaning my gutters or one of them falling on my house during those lovely storm so we get I like them far enough away that they provide some shade but not too much so my grass grows in the deer have someplace to hide when I take the dog out

Telephone - I thought it was great when we had one on the wall with an extra long cord it’s even better when it’s in your hand when it has Internet on it

!. My Wife
2. My son.
2 The Neurology ER doctors at our Local Hospital

Woke up 2 AM this past Tuesday and cleaned up after our sick and dying cat.
Went back to bed and woke up normally at 6:30 I thought,,,,, but had a stroke and was paralyzed.

Wife got my son to drag my ragdoll body out to the car and rushed me to the ER.
A staff of neurology doctors received me.
Within minutes they injected a new version of TPA and it dissolved the clot on my brain,, paralysis gone.

The lesson when someone in the family has a stroke, don't hesitate to rush them to the ER.
You only have a 4 hour window before the clot damages the brain.
I'm sorry to read this; it must have been terrifying. I'm glad to know you're getting better.

... can you email my wife ....she is always questioning my interest in horse racing... I tell her it's the sporting event where everyone in the stand has a vested interest... and it don't last long...I have it down to about every 20 minutes they gate the horses 🐎 🐎 🐎.. never rode a horse and no interest in doing so

I have never placed a monetary bet on a horse but I watch horse racing almost like an obsession I absolutely love horses I think they are such majestic animals it’s like an obsession with me and I can talk horse racing and all the live long days I have been an avid fan since I was a small kid I have road horses a lot but sadly don’t do it much anymore since I sustained a spinal injury it’s the most dangerous sport it’s the only one that has an ambulance follow it next to bull riding I would think would be the only other very dangerous sport just my opinion
It’s the fastest two minutes in sport
It’s one of the reasons why I have certain streaming services so I can watch horse racing I found more horses on Instagram than I do people🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’d be happy to advocate on your behalf with your spouse I’m not sure it it’ll do any good though but I’ll be happy to give it a try👍🏇

Ten Commandments- it’s on ABC tonight and we’ll be playing our annual game of counting how many times they say MOSES!

Trails- I put in 9 miles this morning on our local trails.

Teeth- I guess really grateful for good dental care to ensure my teeth are healthy. I always feel for people who can’t afford a dentist or are too crippled with fear of dental pain to face the dentist.

...so the movie starts on a sea shore covered in smooth stones century after century being polished by the waves, storms and grinding.. how grateful are we to TAKE t a smooth stone off the shore or river bank and place it in our pocket

Then the camera pans to a larger 🪨 🪨 🪨 stone the size of an office chair.. ragged.. chipped .. split... unattractive

Theater entertainment
From 1982-1995 went to the theater 2-3 times a week... February 2020...was the last time

Theater ticket purchasing seat choice
I like the middle and stadium seating...and I arrived early....a young couple with young infant choose first row stadium so if the infant cries.. they can easily leave...5 minutes later a group of 4 elderly ladies arrived and sit next to the baby...they can't climb and perhaps bathroom access...so the couple in the empty theater move over...and then when the preview starts..a group of three sit on the other side of the row..hence trapping the baby and parents

Throngs of miniature snow whites
As our movie is over...so is snow white the door next to our door... TODDLER girls all dress in snow white attire rushing out into the hallway and crushing me 😲 😲 😲. I'm 6'4...and toddlers heading to the bathroom are 3'4... grateful that will never happen again

The movie ended with Peter teaching the surrounding gathered crowd... and the camera pans back to the sea of Gallie and the 🪨🪨is no longer rough but smooth..TRANSFORMED...and for that I am grateful
